What you describe is probably being caused by the inhaled steroid (ICS) in these 2 preparations fluticasone in the Advair® and budesonide in the Symbicort®. And, it may be dose related, so that the first step would be for you and your doctor to consider reducing the strength of the ICS. You may be able to get optimum therapeutic benefit, with diminished side-effects, at the lower dose.
Thank you for pointing out the difference between side effects and allergy. To begin with I thought that I was simply suffering side effects that would pass but when it just kept getting worse and the medication was actually giving me bad attacks I realized there was more going on and went back to the doctor. From the symptoms the doctor thinks that it is actually an allergy.

s a little better now....Last year he did take budesonide mixed with splenda and a tiny bit of water orally for several months (on top of the Flovent), but it didn't appear to do much, and he would gag on it every time. Maybe it did help, but as every dose was a battle we just didn't last with it for very long.

I forgot to mention that I am also taking omeprazole and domperidone but they have made no difference to the nausea and pain.
I have tried valacyclovir pills, eczema cream, antibacterial ointments, proactive, petroleum jelly, blistex, fluticasone propionate cream and have iced it and there has been no difference. Someone please help!!!
I take Spiriva Respimat (tiotropium bromide) 2.5 mcg/actuation, and Wixela (fluticasone propionate salmeterol inhalation powder) for my COPD. Is there a sequence I should be taking these meds in? Is there a time frame I should use between the two meds?
t help the mucus buildup in my throat. I decided to try spicy food and garlic to combat the phlegm but it did not help, and gave me burning indigestion. I continued using the nasal corticosteroid for the rest of the week which seemed to reduce the phlegm, but I noticed that i would get indigestion after eating followed by excessive belching and nausea at night.
Now I have reduced the nasal spray but the indigestion has continued for about 2.
Drug should be taken when necessary and should not be repeated in short interval. Fluticasone mainly acts as anti inflammatory drug and has no action on heart. I've had asthma since I was 10 yrs old, I'm now 27. I've played soccer since I was a kid and never had any serious issues. About 2 yrs ago I had a real bad cold/sinus infection and ended up in the ER because of my asthma. Ever since then, I have not been able to get my asthma under control. I've been prescribed almost everything you can think of, steroids, albuterol, xopenex (inhaler and inhalation solution), budesonide, mucinex and that's just for my asthma.
I am regularly using Ventloin, Fomertrol+budesonide and Motelukast+LC. The only problem is breathlessness arising from throat tightness. I never wheeze in the life. The throat tightness is getting reduced when i take Ventolin. The doctor say i don't have to take ventolin beacause Fomertrol+budesonide and Motelukast+LC. will prevent the difficulty. But only medicines which seems to be working is Ventolin and Motelukast+LC.
I called and asked and she just said to also take phenlyeprine (sudaphed PE) and guaifenesin (Mucinex).
These help quite a bit, but they make me jittery and queasy, I have to pee really often, and I'm still sleepy from the other stuff, and I still have some congestion and sore throat.
So what do I do now? Did I just get really horrible genetics and there's nothing I can do?
Question, do the Flovent and Advair have the fluticasone propionate ingredient in common? Tonight will be my 1st use of the Flovent.
Concerned that I may have a mitral valve problem plus the emphysema. My symptoms of attack are severe shortness of breath, high heart rate, and the immediate need to urinate. Does anyone have anything similar to this? I have not been advised supplemental oxygen as of yet.
