difference between ambien and xanax

I want to try to take my PM Riba as early as possible. Can I do 7 hour time difference between doses?

At day 19 I thought I would be completely finished with these xanax wd's but they keep coming and coming. Late last night I watched a commercial about Lunesta and they mentioned that a common side effect was new or worsening depression. That caught my attention so I began to frantically research Ambien and every article I've read lists new or worssening depression as a common side effect. I've been taking Ambien off & on for the past 2 years..usually only 1/2 a tablet.

I want to quit taking xanax and ambien. I have been on both for a few years. I also take Subxone. I take 12.5 mg of ambien and .5mg of xanax 2 or 3 times per day. Can I quit cold turkey without? I have heard xanax withdrawal can cause seizures,, but am not sure if my dose is high enough to worry about that.

What is the difference between all the benzodiazepines? I mean, why does a doctor prescribe Xanax to one person, Ativan to another, Klonopin to someone else? I know they're all "anxiolytic" (the ones I mentioned) but what makes one better than another? The reason I'm asking is because I take Ativan occasionally but it really knocks me for a loop (which isn't always a bad thing).

And what is the difference between the sleeping aid that is in Ambien and klonopin? Is Ambien more relative to what is in, say, Tylenol PM OTC? I am trying to find the least harmful sleeping aid. I take ativan now - 1 mg. to sleep. Is Ambien safer? My history is similar ot yours but I am on Norco - continually aiming to cut back and feel like I have been through w/d of one form or another 20 times in the last 90 days.

Can anyone tell me what the difference between Xanax and Niravam, my doc put me on Niravam telling me that it stays in my system longer and is no addictive. Everything I have seen states they are exactly the same other than brand name. I know Xanax is cheaper so if they are the same I want to go with it. I am trying to figure out if it is worth keep bringing up. Please help.

While there is an interaction between xanax and Incivek (which I found out after finishing Incivek) all that it says is that you should modify the dose. Incivek can increase the dose. I can't believe a professional would say you should just stop xanax cold turkey. That is crazy, I am so sorry. There are many drugs that Incivek will interact with some on the list, some have not made the list as they have only been discovered since the Incivek's release.

I am horribly addicted to ambien. And before anyone says this, I am seeing my dr. tomorrow. But I wanted to see if anyone has had experience overcoming ambien addictions. I have been taking it almost every night for a year. I am treated for depression with wellbutrin and celexia. I think the ambien started to become a problem this summer, when I would take it on days that were particularly bad and I was anxious.

Soooo, I saw a sleep doc and he has me on a combo of Ambien and Librium (I asked for Librium because I used to have an issue with Xanax and I heard Librium is the safest benzo), but I gotta tell ya, this stuff does nothing for me. I am on 10 mgs of it at night, along with 10 mgs of Ambien and the Ambien works a little, but the Librium I don't think does anything for me.

t sound like you have a problem with the meds,do you? Ambien is a pretty strong med (so is xanax/alprazolam) and both are addictive if used improperly so please talk to your doctor about how you are feeling physically after the ambien.

Well first of all Im not sure that you should have been mixing the ambien and xanax. Both are fairly strong stuff and because of that even short term use can cause rebound insomnia. Also quitting opiates will cause insomnia. So unfortunatly you will just have to suck it up if you want to get off of all of it. You wont sleep well for awhile but it will get better. Either that or take your ambien at night and slowly decrease it.

I also take xanax so what I do is take my xanax an hour or so before going to bed and take the ambien when I go and lay down. When I was prescribed ambien I tried taking it while still being up and it didn't help me at all. Taking it right when I go to bed seems to help. I sleep a little longer and heavier. Hope this helps a little bit.

t cover Xanax at all and even denied an exception when my doctor tried. So he changed me to 10mg Ambien along with the 100mg Trazadone. No problems. Then a visit to my PCP for the Orthostatic Hypotension and he told me to go off those two drugs and gave me a script of 3 days with 1 refill of Ambien CR to see how I would react to that. After the 3 nights I started sleeping 18 to 20 hours of a 24 hr. period plus felt completely out of it.

The doctor said I should try ambien and gave me a rx that I have not gotten filled yet. Has anyone tried this and how did they react. Please any input would be helpful.

I have been using both Ambien and Xanax for years. I would like to wean off Xanax completely. I recently ran out and after about 24 hours I began to feel ill, strange, hot and cold and suffered with a headache, backache and insomnia. I take between 2-3 mg daily. I would like to begin a realistic schedule to wean off completely, without suffering the side effects. Can someone provide a realistic schedule and rough time frame within which I can expect to be "Xanax free"? Thank you!

It has come to a point where I need to medicate myself with several different medicines in order to fall asleep. I usually take Ambien 10 mg and I take two od those and sometimes Xanax 1 mg. I have noticed that Ambien doesnt really help much anymore. I just feel weird when I take it. Sometimes when I dont take anything to sleep and I manage to fall asleep, I have very vivid dreams and nightmares. Even after taking medicine, I dont usually fall asleep until 4 am and I am up at 8 or 9.

Dr today prescribed Ambien 10 mg to help with staying asleep at night and skip the last dose of xanax before bed and take the Ambien. I take the xanax for Anxiety attacks and i'm first scared to stop the last dose before bed and second, don't know how the Ambien is going to effect me. The xanax at night only puts me to sleep for about 2 hours then i wake up. What should I do?

You have the Ambien that will help..maybe just take the Xanax as needed to cut back and give it up soon..Both meds are addicting so please be careful. Good Job on giving up the Trams..I know those w/ds can be just as bad as my Methadone with my 2 other meds..Good Job!!

needless to say i definitely fealt the need to take tylenol pm or unisom(usually doxxylamine succinate or diphenyldramine,both sedating anti-histamines) everynight to help me sleep, but i never fealt truly addicted to it and it wasnt like there was a shortage of it, unfortunately there never seemed to be a shortage with ambien, xanax, and so on either....

I just started 20 mg of generic Celexa (3 days ago) and the doc also gave me Ambien and Klonopin (take .25mg) to relieve the anxiety until the Celexa kicks in. I wake up shaky/hot and kind of panicky. Which drug is this from drugs, or is it still the anxiety. I know this takes time, but I don't want to mess with any drugs that might be making the symptoms worse (i.e Klonopin or Ambien). I also don't want to become dependent on the Klonopin and ambien either.

I was precribed ambien for my sleeping problems and then larter prescribed xanax. So my question is just this.is it a good idea to take an AMBIENCR and a XANAX in the same night before bed?

whats the difference between xanax and ativan? Drs. refuse to give me xanax because they say its addicting. But the ativan only helps if i take it b4 ed as prescribed. I still have panic attacks during the day. The xanax was most helpful. But then i dnt want to get addicted to them. my panic attacks are bad. i feel like my head is going to erupt, explode. i feel like i'm going to get n a car wreck. i always feel like im goin ti die n the most horrible way.

I have taken ambien off and on as needed and have had no problems but you shouldnt have to take ambien if you have the klonopin because that in itself often causes drowsiness so it shoulld help you sleep. So to sum up. Take KLONOPIN as prescribed and your wellbutrin as prescribed. Do not take xanax or ambien that is overmedicating and overkill.

I am just starting day 4 off of norco 5/325. I took usually 4-5 a day. Originally for back pain and then for help dealing with my marriage woes. It's been about 5 months. There was a few weeks months ago where I took Percocet, because I literally could not walk. Of course my back is fine, but my emotional pain continued. Anyway, I was advised by GP that I was over using them and he would not prescribe anymore, which is true, I was overusing.

It would be hard to tell which drug is making u feel like this, but from my experience of taking both at the same time like u are, I would say it is more the ambien. Maybe try a few nights of no ambien and see if u start feeling better? And then figure out a way to taper off the xanax.

I just got a script of Ambien 10mg and take 3 2mg Xanax a day for six years.
