Common Questions and Answers about Diet yeast

Avatar f tn Somebody told me that M.S. and other autoimmune diseases carry one theory that the body becomes over-run with 'bad' yeast, leading to the disease. There is a "Candida" or "Yeast-Free" diet (that is not government approved, apparently) that requires you to starve your body of yeast, sugar and other things for a while. ..thus killing off the yeast that is causing the body to attack itself. Has anyone heard of or tried this?
Avatar f tn I don't think its a weight loss diet but rather a low-sugar diet that supposedly helps prevent yeast infections. I've reducing sugar helps but the only way I could get rid of them was prescribed meds, making sure my husband was treated too, and washing everything in an antibacterial laundry detergent.
Avatar n tn t notice as being related to yeast. Eat a low sugar, low yeast diet. Do not eat wheat or drink alcohol. You should start taking some high quality probiotics found at the health food store. Here is some info on candida infection http://www.drlockie.com/article_disease_view.fcm?articleid=13326&subsite=3 Here is a link regarding the diet you should have http://www.drlockie.com/diet_view.fcm?articleid=13045&subsite=3 Good luck!
Avatar f tn Anyone have any experience with raw diets? My poor dog seems to be allergic to everything he eats. Hes on a prescription hypoallergenic diet now and he's doing ok with it but its super expensive and it gives him bad breath. There has to be something better for him out there but until I find it I was thinking of going raw. One of my coworkers highly recommended it but all the information I can find on it is either all for it or all against it.
Avatar f tn An underactive immune system can lead to yeast overgrowth, because it can't control the balance. The other end of the spectrum is an overactive immune response where allergies are present. This can also lead to problems with yeast. When a traditional vet sees a dog with allergies (a sign of an overactive immune system) he or she will typically prescribe steroid therapy to shut off the immune response. It does improve symptoms but does not fix the underlying cause of the allergies.
Avatar m tn I am writing to you wondering if I have yeast overgrowth. I am a 23 year old male living in Jefferson, OH and I believe that I got this from sleeping in a moldy basement for about a year. It all started after I slept in the basement for about a year and I ate a high carb diet that included a lot of oatmeal, chips, cookies, noodles, bread, etc. One night while I was asleep I was awoken to a very bad feeling in my body. It felt very strange and that I was "high" on medication.
Avatar f tn If your doctor didn't tell you, you can ask the pharmacist. I'm using it right now, but I don't need to worry about birth control. I would suggest researching online the Candida diet and follow the phase 1 part of the diet for a minimum of a month, maybe two, then start reintroducing foods in phase 2 of the diet. Whether it's external where the Clotrimazole (the generic) is used or vaginal, it's still yeast.

Avatar f tn My friends husband had systemic Candidas and their naturopath had him on a restrictive diet to starve the yeast. He hated it, but the diet worked. There are herbs that can be used, too, but they really won't be effective without the right diet involved. This is the only issue my conventional doctor has ever disagreed with my naturopath on. On all other matters they both have approached everything with the Integrative approach and gave me identical information.
Avatar m tn You will have to radically change your diet, but it is worth it. The Candidas diet should help prevent diabetes, too.
Avatar f tn but I did get a really bad systemic yeast infection a while back and so stripped down my diet to get rid of most prepared foods, and I find that by eating a very clean diet (mostly fresh foods), I feel much much better than before, but hard to draw absolute cause and effect. I skip dairy and wheat, but that is just me. Fruit, but no refined sugar at all. Everybody's different, tho.
Avatar m tn Look into a Candidas diet. It's sort of a radical approach in the diet, because there is no sugar of any sort going into the body, including carbs, but I know of a man who successfully got rid of a yeast infection through this sort of diet in only a few months. I don't think dairy is allowed on the Candidas diet. You have to be radical in order to starve the yeast without starving yourself. You will undoubtedly lose weight, but most of us need to lose some weight.
1070570 tn?1283436213 Something that is suppose to help with the yeast or rid us of the yeast is enzymes and another thing I read is to take Grapefruit Seed Extract the minute you get the yeast infection. As for the yeast free diet, I'm curious what that is. What I have read is sugar, cakes, chocolate, caffeine all can aggravate yeast problems. For me if I avoid these things I can keep it some what under control. The minute I take antibiotic I get the white thrush on my tongue.
Avatar m tn The Candida yeast likes an alkaline environment, which is often brought about by a course of antibiotics or an excessively alkaline diet. One of the aims of the Candida Diet is to restore your gut acidity to the correct levels. The right dietary changes and a course of good probiotics will do just that.
Avatar n tn I have had a yeast infection for about 3 months now. I have tried Gynazole-1 & when that didn't work I was given 2 Diflucan pills taken 3 days apart. That didn't work so I went back to the Dr. who looked under the microscope & said it looked like definately yeast. I have had cultures & STD testing done, all fine. So I was given a 7 day treatment of Terazol & 2 more Diflucan pills (take 5 days apart) to take at the same time as using the Terazol.
Avatar n tn Clean up your diet. Get on the Phase I Diet by Doug Kaufman. Yeast thrive on carbos, and sugar. eliminate all sugars including fruits until this pest fungus is eliminated from your system. Veggies, salads meats ok, no sauce. Look for the diet on line. Kaufman is also on TV. "Know the cause." I hope this help!!
Avatar f tn Yeast infection is a dangerous substance for women. I can tell that this is nothing matter because this affection will solve by the natural treatment. However, every woman should conscious about the yeast infection. Don’t be upset and take proper treatment.
781981 tn?1236076621 He put me on an special diet for about a month or two and gave me supplements to help kill the yeast. The first few days were tough but after that I felt so energetic and wonderful. This was 2 years ago and I am still yeast free. If you get a chance read the book "The Yeast Connection" and here is a link to a web site that relates to it with helpful info http://yeastconnection.com/.
Avatar n tn People who have this are told they also have yeast. Yeast burrowing in your intestines is what usually causes the leaky gut. The best book I know to help such a condition is The Body Ecology Diet by Donna Gates. Ignore the therory about eating right for your blood type. This is just a theory (as she says in the book) and one that is true nonsense. Good luck!
Avatar n tn My gf gets yeast infections regularly and has been told her body doesn't produce enough friendly bacteria. So, we think the two of these tie together. It affects our sex life and I know there are remedies to increase the friendly bacteria, can you recommend some good ones?
Avatar n tn I am a diabetic and for the past few month yeast infection has been a major problem for me. I start to feel embarassed....i've been taking canesteen for it......i am a little frustrated what can i do?
1168718 tn?1464983535 Hi Girls, PLEASE !!!!!!!! LOL ...... boys, ignore this one.... Hi, was just wondering if you ladies have experienced constant yeast infections? I'm wondering because I have. I was put on Premarin cream a little while ago, and thought that might be it, ( though it may be) , but checked on the MS site, and found out that it is VERY common with us ladies with MS. So, anyone out there willing to share this??
Avatar f tn It causes yeast overgrowth in and on the body. Of course, sugar is another promoter of yeast. But the gluten free diet relieved all of our scalps about 95%. Only minimal symptoms left behind. We sometimes use Nizoral 2% shampoo (prescription strength) - you leave it on for 3-5 minutes in the shower and rinse. It is an antifungal shampoo. The diet sounds like a strange cure, but it worked for us. Hope it helps you. You have to stick to the diet 100% for it to be effective. Good luck.
Avatar f tn Recently I came down with an upper respiratory infection and the doctor prescribed me a penicillin to clear it up. I told the doctor that I had a yeast infection the last time I took an antibiotic. I purchased a probiotic but didnt take it till after the 3rd day of medication and the damage was done already. I got a yeast infection and I have had one before due to antibiotics so I knew what it was.
Avatar m tn ve found it increasingly difficult to find other men who have experienced genital recurring yeast infections. I was wondering if anyone who has had experience with such things have any good suggestions on how to cure and prevent recurring yeast infections? I've tried months of applying 2% Ketoconazole cream, 14 day regimen of 200mg Fluconazole, Lotrimin AF, applying yogurt, acidopholous, garlic extract, and cranberry juice. What has worked for you?
Avatar f tn Antifungals kills fungi such as Yeast But it is very difficult to get rid of yeast infection without proper diet and Hygiene.
