Avatar f tn I know laws vary from state to state, and in my state (Wi.) you are legally entitled to not only see your medical records but also have copies made of everything inside your chart.Usually your records will be copied and mailed/faxed to the new docotr's office, mhowever you muct sign a release form for them to be released to the new doctor.
Avatar m tn I touched a door handle today to open the door in a toilet and immediately (maybe seconds) after that i rubbed my eyes. After rubbing my eyes i saw a little blood on my fingers which i am sure i got from that door handle. I read here that blood getting into eye is a risk? am i at risk if there was hiv positive blood on the door handle? i just tested 1 month back should i need to test again for this incident ?
Avatar f tn Glad to help...Take care.
Avatar m tn I have been on percocet and soma for years and never had a problem with MD giving the meds to me.. I move around a lot..but I have all my med records and operative reports...anyways I have moved and am saying where i am for a bit...my new GP will not given me any meds that i have taken for years....what should i do about that?? the GYN that is doing my surg is not a regular MD he is mostly for reproduction problems so after surg he will stop seeing me when my post op care is done...
Avatar m tn I discovered that when I am close to some objects like a door, I found that my left eye see the vertical line is a little bent. When I walk back a 5 feet to see it again, it is a little better. Is it related to the retinal is not perfectly mounted during the surgery ? Or because I have myopia after the surgery.
Avatar m tn m pretty sure the garage door has nothing to do with it. Like others have said, you should have your eyes checked in person by a doctor if you're that concerned about it.
Avatar f tn You get up and walk thru that door and do not look back.. The rewards are your Life your Freedom and your Sanity your Health.. I was scared too We all were...
2167824 tn?1343920289 There are a number of levels of severity of this disease, some women simply have a mild case once, and their body seems to learn how to deal with the situation and learn how to not have it return. Others unfortunately have very complicated cases. You should ensure you have an educated caregiver, and any diet or program that fights inflammation in the body seems to be helpful.
Avatar m tn Welcome back to the Forum. Your initial assumption, that someone who had used the bathroom before you had HIV and would have transferred the virus to the door handle is almost certainly incorrect. Even if it were, HIV is not transferred from person to person on inanimate objects such as door handles, toilet seats, etc. That you cut your hand on the door handle does not change this. I would not worry. There is no need for testing related to this event.
Avatar m tn Welcome to the Forum. I'll be pleased to confirm what you have already read on the Community site. Sometime all of the media sensationalism enhanced by the internet can lead to mis-understandings about HIV risk. The situations you describe are not associated with risk for HIV. 1. I have absolutely no concern for HIV Iif a bare penis does not enter my vagina or anus or I am not doing iv drugs. Correct. 2.
332074 tn?1229560525 There is only one way, and that is to stop eating too much when you are upset or stressed. That is the bad habit of emotional eating. You exercise plenty, you are mindful about what you eat..that is all good. Stop looking for someone to tell you what to eat and start thinking about why you eat too much. But I can assure you that you eat too much. I have never seen a case where that is not true. You can change, and if you want more info about how then go to the shrinkyourself.
Avatar f tn Just another thought, everyone has a comment that's why there is a box. I don't judge anyone, it's not like if I see a pregnant lady come out of McDonald's I'm going to think she is a bad mom. Just like I don't smoke but I'm not going to bash or hate on a mom that does. Education may help change someone's decisions on things, maybe not, hating and bashing gets us nowhere. Have nothing but love here!
Avatar m tn t smoke, if you drink alcohol do so in small amounts, watch your weight and diet, exercise, deal with stress in a healthy manner. Have your eyes checked yearly if possible. IF you have children or grandchildren they are much higher risk of having the same problems and should be checked about age 2 to 3 years old.
Avatar f tn Seen MD today about results from spinal tap and all results are not back per his nurse. He then comes in and said all results were normal and I do not have MS. I told him his nurse said all results were not in; he said yes they are and I do not have MS. As he was walking out the door said he would start me on Lyrica and come back in 2 months. I had a few questions to ask him, but I guess my 2 minutes were up.
Avatar m tn t feeling 100% great so I asked to be recommended to an endocrynologist who is a MD unfortunately. My endo switched me to 100 mg levothyroxine. I am experiencing hives, small red bumps, redness, heat feeling & a puffy face. My face is in pain. I have also recognized fogginess, anxiety, depression & I have zero energy unlike when I was on Armour. My endo said he will keep me on levothyroxine no matter what, even if I don't feel well.
Avatar f tn Go to a kenisiologist/MD and get rid of your allergy. I got rid of lots of allergies that way - much more efficient and light-years faster than going to an allergist.
3287038 tn?1398422427 It is hard to help someone with possible bad outcomes involved, so I try to gather the most information, up to date, to make informed decisions. Sometimes even then it is just plain luck. Have a good weekend.
Avatar m tn The fasting BG is what all the MD use however its not a good test to see what is going on. for one thing testing, "Dawn Phenomenon" (DP) also hits in the morning and can raise BG (Blood Glucose). It is well known that the fasting BG numbers are last numbers that go bad, meaning you can have problems with BG before they show up in the fasting test. Like checking to see if the barn door is open by looking for horses in the stalls, if the stalls are empty then the door is open.
Avatar f tn If you are off dairy for an extended time, you might ask your MD about which supplements to take to make up for a restricted diet so you get enough calcium. I take a multivitamin also. Also, I have to salt things because otherwise my blood pressure drops too low, but if you have high BP, ask your dr about adding salt or a salt substitute. You can eat a ton of what you ARE allowed to eat, and still lose weight as an added bonus, assuming you are carrying a few extra pounds.
Avatar n tn Did I need to to take another VDRL/RPR test I had one at 7 weeks negative and like I mentioned above I had treatment with doxy for a week, I read one of your other posts on here trying to find that answer and the closest I got was doxycycline is effective within hours of the first dose......does that mean if I was exposed I did not get it because of the doxy? was one week enough? If you are negative for syph. at 6 or 7 weeks does that mean you never contracted it? I think I read Syp.
Avatar m tn There is no way to predict what your outcome will be. Most -7 patients that live a normal lifespan have good vision most or all of their life. And even in progressive pathological high myopia the eye rarely becomes 'blind' but the central vision in one or both eyes may be subnormal and worse case 'legally blind" but not functionally blind.
Avatar f tn I live with a friend and she came into my room in the morning bleeding because she had fallen and cut herself in the forhead. I was asleep at the time and I rushed to the door and touched the door knob and then put on my contacts to take her to the hospital. When I got home, I noticed that my door knob had blood on it. I then remembered that I might of touched it and then put my contacts on when I took my friend to the hospital. She is very permiscuous and am afraid she is HIV+.
Avatar n tn I have to tell you, I eat chocolate just about every day. If your theory were correct, I'd be a mess. I haven't had an outbreak in months.... Lysine has not been shown to be effective in treating herpes, as it is with most natural/herbal remedies Personally I think any doctor will tell you that eating right and exercising is the key to staying healthy in general. I didn't change one eating habit when I found out I had genital herpes...
