Common Questions and Answers about Diet soda your body

diet

Avatar f tn Diet or regular soda Is not good for anyone! Either plain water or club soda or seltzer.
Avatar f tn That stuff has bren proven to cause brain damage. Your better off drinking half a regular soda. I dont think soda is worth it in general. Maybe coffee mixed with bubbly water?
Avatar f tn Soda is okay actually in moderation. Diet soda contains aspartame which once it enters body it turns to formeldahyde also know as what they use to preserve bodies after they have passed. No im not lying this really does happen. Aspartame xan also casue other health problem with the heart and body like parkinsons disease and strokes.
Avatar f tn No its definitly the asparteme that is bad, but thats the reason you should never drink diet soda. Asparteme is pure poison. Just do your research on it. Also watch out for pedialite for babies they started putting that crap in there too. Your much better off with a sugary soda then that stuff. You want to take it easy on the caffeine too, but I would definitly worry more about the asparteme then anything.

1536593 tn?1292557199 I get severe head aches when I drink Diet Soda, off brand or not, could it be an intolerance to the artificial sweetener or an allergy?
Avatar f tn I don't want this to turn into a debate about whether you think diet soda is bad or not...I was just curious if anyone else had a similar craving and drank diet soda. My doctor did tell me that it's fine in moderation, just like most things. I drank diet soda with both of my previous pregnancies and they were both healthy babies and are healthy kids so while I appreciate your concern, I didn't post this to hear how bad diet soda is for people.
Avatar f tn You are ok to drink diet sodas on occassion, but the artificial sweeteners can sabotage a diet, by making you want more sweets. I drink a diet soda (coke zero) maybe once or twice a month. The rest of the time I drink green tea (I like jasmine flavored green tea) sweetened with either Stevia or agave nectar, which are both natural sweeteners.
Avatar f tn I drank regular ginger ale in first trimester when I couldn't keep any food down, but I bought the stuff without High Fructose Corn Syrup-- Hansen's brand, if you're in the States, is sweetened with real cane sugar. Honestly, it's like 100 calories for the whole can-- better to drink real sugar than Splenda or Aspartame! Both HFCS and artificial sweeteners are really horrible for your body.
Avatar f tn They say diet is bad for u even when ur not pregnant but i still drink it so i dnt think it makes a difference in my opinion. Everything nowadays is "not good" for u and it gets annoying.
72351 tn?1281992542 Cindi, I'm still not a physician ;-) so do run this by a qualified endocrinologist or CDE, okay? I'd like to comment on the regular soda first & then on the whole milk. If humanly possible, I'd suggest you wean yourself from sugar-loaded soda. As a type 2, your ability to process sugars is impaired -- either delayed insulin response and/or some measure of insulin resistance. A regular sode has a lot of simple sugars and each one you drink *does* stress your system.
Avatar f tn If it is not diet soda, that is one heck of a sugar load. I think it is the equivalent to 12 teaspoons of sugar in a 12-ounce can. And unfortunately, if it is diet soda, it is loaded with chemicals. Hate to say it because the sugar gives you a higher diabetes risk and a higher risk that your child will later on develop diabetes, and the chemicals are just nasty for you. Can you taper off by cutting the soda in half with sparkling water?
Avatar f tn Not eating breakfast is a terrible idea...your body needs nutrition after sleeping all night. Even if you only have time for a protein shake or piece of fruit in the morning, that's better way to start your day. Eat more veggies/salad. Portion contra is key! If I could advise one other important thing it would be...drink water...no soda ( even diet soda)...no juices that are high in sugars. How much weight do you feel you want to lose?
5898681 tn?1392221010 Diet soda is a no no during pregnancy. It has aspartame in it. My dr said no artificial sweeteners!
Avatar f tn I gave up all pop once I realized how much sugar is in a glass of pop. Diet soda is even worse. Most diet soda has an ingredient in it called Aspartame. Did you know that one of the ingredients of aspartame is wood alchohol. No joke. I researched aspartame and discovered this. Wood alcohol is actually a poison. Also the more diet soda you drink, the greater your craving for sugar is. Soda is also very bad for your intestines.
Avatar f tn If your worried about it dont drink it,diet cokes really not good even not being preggers
Avatar f tn Floss daily because food left in between your teeth will make your mouth stink to and you have to brush your teeth, tongue, jaws, & roof of your moth. You have to brush your whole mouth & I also use peroxide. It gets rid of funky mouth odor & the dentist use it also. Follow directions on peroxide bottle. I put 1 capful of peroxide then 1 capful of tapwater together in my mouth & I swish vigoriously all between my teeth for 1 minute. Then I brush like I described before.
Avatar n tn I agree that you should not be worried about dieting yet. Dieting so young and not getting all the nutrition you need while you're developing can weaken your immune system too, and create problems for you later in life. At 13 your body doesn't look the way it will when you get older anyway. I know mine didn't. I'm only 20 and I look nothing like I did at 13; I'm actually slimmer, but not for dieting that's for sure! Sometimes your body has to grow into itself.

7366593 tn?1400009626 I havent drank diet soda my whole pregnancy...I just wanted to know if I could have one cup on diet coke? Im 37 almost 38 weeks pregnant.
1047019 tn?1256719961 Does diet soda cause tooth decay? My friend allows her daughter to drink limitless quantities of diet coke, and she insists it isn't the cause of her tooth problems. The daughter has had a silver tooth, and more recently major fillings in some of her back baby teeth, for which the dentist wanted to put her under general anesthesia. My friend insists diet Coke is perfectly fine for teeth?
