Avatar f tn It turned out that aspartame, a sweetner that is often added to diet drinks, was responsible for her symptoms ! Aspartame apparently has been banned in Europe in children's products. Anyhow, so here's my new poll question : How many people here are drinking DIET sodas ? http://www.sweetpoison.com/aspartame-side-effects.html http://www.sweetpoison.com/articles/0706/aspartame_symptoms_submit.
Avatar f tn I gave up all pop once I realized how much sugar is in a glass of pop. Diet soda is even worse. Most diet soda has an ingredient in it called Aspartame. Did you know that one of the ingredients of aspartame is wood alchohol. No joke. I researched aspartame and discovered this. Wood alcohol is actually a poison. Also the more diet soda you drink, the greater your craving for sugar is. Soda is also very bad for your intestines.
Avatar f tn You're better off drinking a regular soda than diet because of the aspartame. Aspartame isn't good for you at all!
Avatar f tn t drink it my doctor said absolutely no aspartame.
5913031 tn?1382391190 Diet soda... Not sure about. Any diet soda is bad for you period whether pregnant or not. Research shows it can cause cancer. Also contains aspartame which is a form of rat poison, anyway. Soda is alright during pregnancy here and there... As long as you don't consume for then 200mg.
Avatar f tn I drink waist watchers, its diet soda and there's no caffeine or aspartame ( that's why Drs don't like you drinking anything diet ) and it also is sugar free. There's orange, root beer, black cherry....so good!
1891853 tn?1344648442 I drink diet caffeine free sodas. Most diet sodas use aspartame, which is not bad UNLESS you have a condition where you can't have aspartame (I forgot the name of the condition). Regular sodas are okay in moderation (they have caffeine and lots of sugar). Try to drink lots of water and few sodas of any kind.
921312 tn?1351077913 In a nutshell, she was being poisoned by the Aspartame in the diet soda.. and literally dying a slow and miserable death When she got to Florida March 22, all she had to take was one pill, and that was a pill for the Aspartame poisoning! She is well on her way to a complete recovery. And she is walking! No wheelchair! This article saved her life. If it says ‘SUGAR FREE’ on the label; DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT IT!
Avatar f tn Can drinking diet soda and using Equal in my coffee cause anxiety to get worse? I was diagnosed with anxiety and depression over a year ago. Neurontin helped the anxiety in the beginning but increasing the dose has not helped anymore. My doctor gave me Klonopin to use as needed and I only take 1/2 pill when I need to because a whole pill makes me way too sleepy. I drink 2 cups of coffee a day, but only at work, so 5 days a week. I also drink about 1 diet pepsi a day, every day.
Avatar f tn Diet and decaf are the worse no matter if you're pregnant or not. I like fizzy drinks so it doesn't have to be soda. Maybe find a different alternative?

Avatar f tn I have heard that diet soda is not as good for you while preg as reg soda. I think it has to do with the Aspartame in it. I drink a reg soda a week and drink decaf coffee. Something you may wanna try too is to make caffeinated coffee mixed with decaf when you make it. This way you can get off the coffee quicker and not get as shocked when you do.

6519447 tn?1391770769 Soda is fine. However, the artificial sweetener in diet soda called aspartame is NOT! It's bad even if your not pregnant. My dr said absolutely no diet soda.
Avatar n tn For me, cheese or a slice or 2 of lean meat. A small dill pickle with a tiny bit of cream cheese wrapped in a piece of turkey or lean ham is good too. Nuts are great, if you can have just a handful. I can't. I'm addicted to them.
4860407 tn?1373822856 My pregnancy book actually recommends if you're going to drink pop make it regular not diet because the aspartame in diet pop can be harmful to your baby... Plus it can cause cancer in general!
Avatar m tn I who have GAD and depression, and my wife who is bipolar, have come to find out that phenylalanine (Aspartame), often found in diet drinks, can create the symptoms of "feeling high" and cause "brain zaps" while on anti-depressant medications. I was on Effexor a few years back and would have some nasty brain zaps if I drank a diet soda. If I drank too much, I would get a "high", almost out of body feeling.
Avatar f tn No its definitly the asparteme that is bad, but thats the reason you should never drink diet soda. Asparteme is pure poison. Just do your research on it. Also watch out for pedialite for babies they started putting that crap in there too. Your much better off with a sugary soda then that stuff. You want to take it easy on the caffeine too, but I would definitly worry more about the asparteme then anything.
Avatar f tn My Dr says soda is fine. But he says diet soda is bad because it has aspartame in it.
Avatar f tn the diet is a no no though! Almost all diet or sugar free beverages contain artificial sweeteners. If you find a drink with stevia in it then that's great but past that you want to avoid it. Especially aspartame!! Reading ingredients on everything is unfortunately just something we all have to do now for the sake of our babies. Good luck!!
278469 tn?1219245951 One more suggestion: Eliminate all aspartame from her diet. This got rid of both my migraines and seizures, which is wierd because I've been drinking diet soda for years with no problems. Since eliminating aspartame (in diet soda, "light" yogurt, sugarless gum, etc.), my short term memory is improved an amazing amount. I'd never go back! It's an easy thing, and worth a shot - it doesn't work for everyone, but why not try?
