Common Questions and Answers about Diet soda leg cramps

Leg cramps for most have a very simple solution. Drink an 8 oz glass of club soda before bed. Don't suffer with them myself but am in the fitness industry and my clients have done this for years. Leg cramps are the depletion of minerals and dehydration.
I followed the protocol in KT's book and began my diet on the third day but Dr. Simmeon's protocol says to gorge for 3 days and then begin the diet. I don't know why there is a day difference in the protocols. Also I noticed that DR. Simmeon says to eat white fish but in KT's book he is specific about the white fish being halibut, Chilean sea bass, flounder or sole. Is anyone following just Dr. Simmeon's protocol and if so are you eating other white fish like orange roughy or tilapia?
Nygirl, I never heard about tonic water for cramps, but it sounds very interesting. We will try this if cramps return. So far, no cramps and peaceful nights. Our doctor just said "Hmm" when I mentioned cramps, so I had to take matters in my own hands and find a solution.
I would recommend moving your shots to the butt and arms as well, I do right leg, left leg, right cheek, left, right arm, left, then one day without, that way you don't have tons of bruises nor do you look like a pin cushion. I am looking forward to hearing your additional remarkable results, I be here with you as I have to do this twice!!! mystikld: Congratualtions on your package, it is like receiving the lottery isn't it? Enjoy your gorge days, it will help when you first start your VLCD.
I am one day past IVF and am having lower menstrual cramps. Is this unusual. Did anyone else's doctor require them to have bedrest for 24 hours? Thanks for listening.
i also felt better when i drank enough water, not enough leg cramps, headaches swelling. try more water then give the soda a try. i still have stupid headaches!
This past week I have been abruptly woken up with severe leg cramps in my thighs, calfs, and toes. My toes get all distorted and all I can do is scream in pain. The cramps last for what seems an eternity (an hour+). I usually take some heating creams and rub them all over and rub/stretch as much as I can. But, sometimes I cannot even move because it hurts so much. I have took some muscle relaxers last night and finally fell asleep.
I feel quite sure this is a symptom of it, but with the pain I am having in that leg at the hip and the vibrations down the leg, I need relief, not diagnosis. I am already taking arthritis medication, though it appears that may need to try another type to address this issue. I am also taking over the counter Glucosamine and chronditin, which are combined supplements that are suppose to help regenerate the cartilage around the joints that causes osteo-arthritis.
Strenuous and semi stressful physical exertion would often be accompanied by extreme painful muscle cramping in major leg and arm muscles. Making it difficult to move, let alone lift a particular arm or leg. Growing up I had a normal childhood riding bikes, playing baseball, tag, all the sorts of things young kids do. Often times the cramping would never present itself. Appears to almost be random.
But as I told him, I haven't eaten enough in weeks for me to be able to say that the pills are working. He wants me to slowly add food back into my diet. I've been living on Bagels & crackers and water. This past weekend, I did eat different foods. And on Tuesday morning, I was sick as a dog. This is my fourth bout of this in 2 months. I can't believe no one can tell me what's wrong. It's hideous. I lose at least one day of work because of it and sometimes 2 days. I have to stay in bed.
i only transfered 1 five day blast and im 11weeks preggo! i had some mild cramps about 4 day after the transfer and i started doing hpt at 5 dp transfer. it was + and got darker every day! how many days past transfer are you and are you going to test with htp? i could not stand it. a girl that i met at my clinic and she did the same as me on the same days as me did not test + till 2 days before beta. let me know.
Often times I have found myself trying to dry off my left leg below the knee because I thought I felt my leg get wet. It is so annoying!!! There is nothing I could see on my leg and every brush I do, my hand ends up being dry, not wet. What could be the possible cause of this??? I thought about posting in the Neurology forum as well as skin-ology. I thought it might be possible it had something to do with nerves in my leg that's causing this wet feeling.
The thing is i already have so many problems i have, chronic pain, chronic advanced fibromyalgia, siezures, spasms daily,7 protuding discs, coxydinia, motor V.A. fractured pelvis, fractured L/leg,broke both legs and both arms,at times can't control bladder or bowels and had seven major surgeries and holding on 3 but some doctors are scared to do surgery on me,hey but that can wait and also facial migrain and severe numbness.
As a result, I drank a lot of water, diet soda and juice. This caused me to flush out all of the vitamins and minerals of my body. I am reallllly low on just about everything. Just started suplements and a big daily dose of magnesium as suggested by my nutritionist. Since I've eaten very low carbs and kept my sugar lower in addition to the supplements, the cramps are gone.
After 3 sessions it felt alot better but not completely well. Iam now having cramps in right leg also, they started shortly after the left leg cramps but has never been sore when handled like the left. I had a few but not many twitches in my left leg it progressed from my left leg to my entire body. I would say i have alot of them but not 24\7 like some people. 60% of them are in my legs but the rest are all over my body (not my tongue).
The FDA banned quinine from use against leg cramps because sensitive people may develop a potentially deadly blood disorder in reaction to quinine. this complication is rare, it is extremely serious. One person was hospitalized after drinking a 5-ounce glass of tonic water. They developed a terrible skin reaction and her blood platelets plummeted. She was told that in her case even a drop could be lethal.
Evidently damn is acceptable but s-u-c-k-s is a bad word...
Take with a banana before bed, (the extra potassium helps prevent leg cramps) But the BEST way to get nutrients is through WHOLE FOODS!! I always recommend eating healthier, especially while your little one depletes these essential things from you first. For the health of both of you you can always improve your diet. But def do research online.
Hi Mara, Ah yes the lovely "charlie horses" as we call the leg cramps...I would get them so often my DH would pull my leg straight while still asleep....lol.... I would get them in both legs at the same time....and I hate that ghost pain u have the rest of the day sometimes 2 after a really bad one. For ur acid reflux, since prilosec is not helping as ur dr to see if a HII is better for u than the PPI.....and HII would be like a rx strenght of pepcid.....
I've hurt so bad I have lost my breath and thought I was passing over. But felt my will to live brought me back. Sometimes I have cramps so bad it feels like I am having a baby. My Doctor says I have IBS and Fibromyalgia. Also have neck, back, leg, arm pain. I've been precribed Vioxx, Zoloft and Trazadone. But nothing helps my stomach area. I've had all the tests, scopes, MRI's, Ultra sounds, blood tests. Makes me wonder about a flu shot I had three years ago.
Succralose (Splenda) is the other sugar substitute alternative that’s made from sugar but not digested. Ie; it does not stay in your body. As far as your leg cramps, that can be from many sources – dehydration, fluid shifting, low calcium, low magnesium, low potassium, and so on. Testing by a doctor will help. Drink more water, walk more but not strenuous. Obesity brings about lethargy, inactiveness. These are not good lifestyles. Be healthy, live well, thrive. And Xmas greetings to you too.
She has issues with cholesterol, and was given lipator, which when she took it, caused her severe leg and feet cramps, one of the reasons I don't want to take it. I will talk with her as well about her results... we may need to look into the 'normal" results a little more deeply for her as well. I will also check on the dandelion tea or capsules... I hate the fluid pills.
And thats not the end... dental procedures cause aging trauma. A pulled tooth can result in numb toes and leg cramps, an overdose of anesthesia can last for two weeks and cause stomach problems or more. Root canals and dental infections can affect heart rate. Antibiotics can problem digestion. And pulled teeth are a source of sorrow, they never return. The primary answer (to teach children) is to do everything possible to have good teeth and stay away from dentist offices.

Congrats on 8 days! I am on day 12. I have been dealing with the leg cramps and RLS and its driving me nuts! I did decide to add potassium/magnesium vitamins to the mix. I take 2 so that is 500/500 of each. I am thinking its helping. Last night I didn't have the leg cramps and I even worked out on the treadmill for an hour. So I am hoping its helping. I have also been taking Hyland's leg cramp and RLS tablets religiously. More help the better I guess.
Take the meds on time, eat a balanced diet, rest when you need to, try to maintain a level of exercise, put fresh batteries in the remote, know when your labs are scheculed and consider putting labels on the dog and the strawberries so you don't confuse them.
