Avatar f tn I was the same that you were. I just started slowly switching one coke or soda for a diet or zero and then also adding a glass of water. I hate water but I drink flavored water. I also loved sweetened teas! I started cutting back on the sugar. Now I can say that I drink one diet or zero soda a day. Unsweetened tea and mostly water. I started all this in January this year. I have lost 34 lbs. It's hard but you can do it.

Avatar f tn Ok, so I cut regular soda out of my diet. I normally drink water, diet can iced tea (or fresh) and seltzer. Now my question is.... is diet soda OK in moderation? Like when me and my bf go to a mall, water gets so boring and the fast food places generally never have seltzer water. So therefore I'm forced with diet soda (YUCK). Is it ok just on the weekends? 1963845 tn?1376030809 As an RN, I totally agree with Barb135!! A balanced healthy diet with daily exercise and cut out the soda will help u the most. I switched from soda to tea and dropped 25lbs without even trying! Nothing healthy happens overnight.

Avatar m tn I who have GAD and depression, and my wife who is bipolar, have come to find out that phenylalanine (Aspartame), often found in diet drinks, can create the symptoms of "feeling high" and cause "brain zaps" while on anti-depressant medications. I was on Effexor a few years back and would have some nasty brain zaps if I drank a diet soda. If I drank too much, I would get a "high", almost out of body feeling.

Avatar n tn 7 lbs is not a lot to lose in 4 weeks so just cutting out soda and chips could help lose that much fat. Exercise a bit and you'll lose even more.

Your body requires a healthy amount of all of these but high intake of sugar and sodium will cause you to retain more water weight obviously counteracting your desire for stomach definition. Isolating muscle groups during weight training 4-5 times a weeks is actually far more effective than whole body training 3 times per week.
