I did not see it on the thyca wedsite. I want to make sure that I do everything possible to insure good results from the treatment so I would appreciate finding recipes. Thank you.
Male My doctor has told me I need to move to a gluten-free diet....yikes!!! All my life (and that is a very long time--ha ha) I have generally eaten whatever I wanted to eat. This change to a GF diet seems like such a huge mountain to climb. I know there are many others who have had to change to a GF diet after a lifetime of eating what they wanted with little or no restrictions. How does a person even get started on a change like this? What do you do when you go out to eat at a restaurant?
Avatar f tn They have told me to eat a fat free and dairy freediet for the next 12 weeks when iI will be checked again as surgery whilst I'm pregnant is risky. I am having a really hard time coming up with recipes and options to fill myself up, so far nothing I make had any flavour and it is putting me off eating. Does anyone have any recipes they could share?

Avatar f tn I follow a gluten free diet. I have celiac disease. So far it hasn't been easy. I used to pretty much live on tuna fish and lunch meat and now I can't have either. I'm afraid I won't get the nutrients my baby and myself need but I am trying. Luckily many grocery stores around me carry gluten free foods and there is a strict gluten free/dairy free/vegan bakery close by if I get a sweet tooth.

You can also just google Gluten Free Recipes. There are insane numbers of resources available now. You do need to understand about binders such as xanthan gum and guar gum that need to be used to make gluten free bread and pastry items work. I wasn't able to use the quinoa pasta, though, because I am also very intolerant to corn.

Her son is severely autistic and at 19, wears protective underclothing and is non-verbal. He used to lash out more than he does now & she attributes that to his change in diet and the therapy he is getting to stimulate him.
1464587 tn?1307491605 like I said my doc says to stay on a vegan low fat soy free diet..... but I honestly keep reading almost everywhere that the key is to stay atkins/veggie diet..... that it is most important to stay away from sugar and carbs (anything from any kind of flour) and stay with the veggies, egg whites, and meat.

I would like to have a group of parents try using the recipes and supplements to help reinforce the information I will be providing in my book. Anyway, if it continues to be a problem, talking with your doctor might be a good idea just to be sure. He can run a few tests to make sure everything is as it should be.

Avatar n tn I have started a heart healthy diet. This means I eat nothing but organic vegetables. I am pretty much a vegetarian now. I do eat some fish and chicken breast on occasion though. There are recipes galore on the internet. I mainly stick to the heart healthy and liver healthy recipes. It is a bit more expensive, but I have lost almost 20 lbs. in less than 3 weeks. This is not water weight either! I have cut out all sugar, salt, dairy, wheat, cocoa, and caffeine out of my diet.

My main secret is really garlic, basil, and other spices. And after you have it out, remember slowly add in the foods that make you sick.

1277082 tn?1344057820 I mean most diet or sugar free anything contain aspartame. Aspartame is bad. Look it up. So stay away from it. What I did was I picked one thing to focus on for 1 month, for example no soda. Then the next month I added 5 push ups & 5 sit ups everyday, then increase 2 more of each every week. Then the next month you cut out, something else from your diet. Then the next month you add something positive. Doing it this way you are making lifetime health changes in baby steps.
3232858 tn?1437130677 I would contend there is no such thing as healthy meals without veggies, especially if you're getting painful joints. Colored veggies have the antioxidants that help prevent inflammation. You can probably lose weight in the short term by eating a high protein diet, but even the most ideological protein fanatics eat some veggies. With the huge number of veggies out there it's hard to believe you can't find some you enjoy, but there's something about veggies that I found.

But to be honest if you cut out any type of soda, junk food and excess sugar you will see weight loss. You could also try googling "healthy meals" and see what you can come up with and kind of put everything together. also if you try not to eat to many bread products that will also help with the weight loss too. Avatar m tn To prevent memory loss when a person has diabetes, one should change their diet to include foods with fiber, protein, and calcium that will stimulate blood flow and also help replace some of the nutrients lost. Exercise will also promote blood flow. Walking is an excellent exercise that does not put excess strain on the body, joints or limbs and helps to reduce glucose levels.

172023 tn?1334672284 ve personally lost 45 pounds over 6-7 months with simple changes to my diet, and with sensible exercise. It can be done without pills, and without severely depriving yourself. I've been able to cut my BP meds in half after losing weight. My husband was able to completely stop his diabetes meds, and his BP meds after losing 65 pounds. Of course, this may not happen in your particular situations, but if it could, wouldn't it be fantastic?
