Common Questions and Answers about Diet of the year

diet

790165 tn?1268836968 Things like white flour, pasta, bread are not BAD per say....but if you cannot rid those of your diet atleast eat the whole graines, whole wheat pasta (searving size, of course which is 2 ounces). Watch what types of fruit you eat, as some are worse then others. Grapes instead of bananas are a better choice as bananas are higher in carbs. Now, I do not mean to go on a strict low carb diet....as that would be very hard for most of us. But all I say is watch the amount you take in.
Avatar m tn I had to repeat endoscopy and they found a lot of things this time. First of all, the found Hyperplasia of the gastric mucosa. Also, they found GERD, hiatal hernia, erosion of the antrum. Current situation. I am constantly being treated. I follow the strictest diet for a year (no fried, no smoked food, no refined, no spicy food, no alcohol) Also, I follow the FODMAP diet as it improves the situation with my skin. But I'm still having pyrosis from time to time.
Avatar f tn I breast fed for a year, very little fresh tastes of food for baby and was back to my my pre-pregnant weight in 1 year.
Avatar f tn I have done all of the diet things for IBS and it helps a little but the pain is still there! But thanks for your response!
2065676 tn?1331422440 Did you taper off the fats slowly? Or change your diet drastically? Perhaps for the next day or so, maybe a bland diet would help. Sounds like you have a great friend there!
Avatar f tn s one of the best! Diet is also important. Too much fat makes me ill, so watch out for that.
1008841 tn?1293598960 They decided that it was probably caused by my spleen, which had a aneurysm on it. They did something to it, through a vein, I guess. I was really kind of out of it at the time. But, they said that the varices would probably go down after that. I was in and out of the hospital for months with pneumonia and different things. I hardly remember any of it except wanting to get out of there and come home to my cats, who I had no idea who was caring for them. I was a terrible patient.
332074 tn?1229560525 I have worked out for three years straight. 5 nights a week. 1 hour of cardio and 1 hour weights. Yet I have not lost any weight. I have been dianosised with high blood preasure, thyroid problems, insulin resisstance and just did get diagnosised with sleep apnea. My problem is, I have sooo many food allergies that alot of the foods that are good for a diet, I can't eat. Is there anyway I can achieve weightloss with the foods that I can eat?
Avatar f tn Hello yes I have changed my diet for eating something to almost not eating at all. I don't drink sodas, haven't had tea in years, don't like coffee, the only fruits I eat is watermelon, cantaloupe, sometimes grapes and strawberries. I have always ate healthy. I like salads without tomatoes. I drink water all the time. Don't drink alcohol. Spicy foods have been out of my life for about a year and 7 months. I have pretty much stop eating altogether.
Avatar f tn None of the pills work. Some are even so dangerous, they can kill. There is no way to loose weight fast. The faster you loose weight, the faster and the more will be back on your hips. The only way to loose weight effectively is to do it slow, and to make changes to your diet for life. There are several approaches to do this, my favourite is: think of how much you are willing to change. Make your own short term goals, which are achievable, like 3 kgs lost by the first monday next month.
Avatar f tn With the migraine, do you have pain in the head that is either forehead related, or at the back of the head (bottom of the occiput) and have a line that's tender and/or hot at the top of the head, kind of ear-to-ear or thereabouts? Are you taking ANY medications? Do you get rashes or blotches?
Avatar m tn I had a GFR of 53% about a year and a half ago. I went hard core with the kidney diet for the next six months and it raised to 65, and then I still did the diet but not as stringently and my numbers rose to 74% at my last test about a month ago now. This is unusual, usually the diet will just help you maintain your numbers, but it is still important to follow if you do have chronic kidney disease. And it also means no ibuprofen, aleve, aspirin, anything that is considered an NSAID.
Avatar f tn why is sleeping on your back so bad while prego and u can only sleep on your left side...drinking diet coke or oj cuz of the acid can that affect the baby.....?
343006 tn?1314446471 I am convinced as well as many many others of the value of the program I am on. I too have sufferred problems with BP meds. After some time I start having blackout spells and have experienced several serious injuries. Lost confidence in DRS. The treatment is from a book 'One Minute Cure to all Diseases' available on line @ oneminutecure.com It is a regiment of 35% [FOOD GRADE ONLY] Hydrogen Peroxide. I have started mine and already am feeling the diffrence.
Avatar n tn Hi i just recently read some very recent articles from doctors saying that the atkins diet could be a very good way of eating for diabetics because of the low carb approach that insulin is hardly affected. To me it makes sense cause i wouldn't mind my great aunt who is a diabetic to try the atkins or another low carb diet to help here with her blood sugar problems.
Avatar n tn for example i will have an egg sandwich with oj+celery for breakfast, an orange or grapefruit for lunch and the egg sandwich with oj + celery for dinner. 2 liters of water for the day. i can maintain that diet for about a week, then i will break it , the temptations of sweets , plus positive or negative events get me wanting sodas and sweets. then my will power will get low and it takes months to regain and start the diet. what should i be studying that will help stay on a diet?
Avatar f tn Well tomorrow is my last day I will ever be pregnant.it has been a long road in one of the most miserable pregnancy ever.I was sick the first 17 weeks and found out I had gestational diabetes at32 week s. I have an 8 year old little boy and will be delivering my little girl Tuesday morning.I have been counting down the days and hours of the end of this pregnancy, but now I must say it's bittersweet.I am having my tubes tied as I know that I do not want anymore children since this was so bad.
1889242 tn?1321354938 Do any of you follow the dietary guidelines of Swank or George Jelinek? I'm newly diagnosed and began a diet eliminating meat (with the exception of seafood), dairy, and oil as well as limiting my fat intake to 20 grams/day. I've been doing this for 3 weeks now and it hasn't been nearly as difficult as I expected. My neurologist wasn't convinced of the benefit of the diet but said to "do it if I wanted". I am also using DMD so I am not relying on diet alone.
Avatar f tn When I first set up my app the calorie allowance was really low, as well. I found the time I'd entered to lose the weight was too short, so lengthened the amount of time. My first day I went over my calorie allowance by 22c. It took it off the following days allowance....so I had less calories I could consume if I still wanted to lose weight. Healthy loss is about 2 to 4lbs per week. Closer to 2 is best.
Avatar m tn He also said the CT angio is not very accurate in measuring the % of blockage and most fo the time over estimates the stenosis. Is this true and can I control this with proper diet and exercise? Oh and stress management. I also thought it was weird that my calcium score was 33 but i had a 50% blockage. Any advice or opinions are appreciated. Thanks!
915119 tn?1341948989 s a little too soon to think about this, but what are your diet plans after the baby is born? I definitly have to get on a diet as I have gained a lot of weight. When I had my last daughter I got on the "Herbalife" diet and lost all my baby weight plus about 15 extra pounds but I want to consider other diets before getting on that strict "Herbalife" diet. It's hard for me because I am a picky eater, but I want to eat healthy!! Any suggestions?? What are your plans?
Avatar n tn Spincter of Oddi dysfunction may be treated with meds (ones which lower the pressure of sph. of Oddi, and ones which dilute the bile). Surgery, or a procedure done during upper endoscopy is a permanent solution though. http://intmed.muhealth.org/gast/patient_resource/commondisorders/sphincteroddi.html Sludge means more dense bile, probably containing more cholesterol.
612876 tn?1355514495 t do either). But I was told by a previous specialist of the same variety that I needed to be on a soft diet the rest of my life. I wouldn't want to eat apples or do a bunch of chewing when I know that would cause me more pain and aggravate the joints.
