Common Questions and Answers about Diet log notebook

diet

Avatar n tn d at age 4 was to keep a log of everything imaginable. They had a small notebook on the kitchen counter where both parents, any baby sitter, and eventually my nieces, would write food info, insulin info,BG info, health info, etc. They kept those notebooks forever. They served both as a communication tool when, for example, my sister was home to give her daughter a shot, but wasn't home later when another BG test was given.
Avatar f tn 2) From the view that looks like a notebook page ripped at the bottom - I get here after saving a meal - if I tap back I leave the app. I would like to go to the main view with the calorie slider again. 3) If I go over calories for the day, display the number of calories I am over on that main view. 4) I do the same exercise every morning for the same amount of time, and the same exercise at night but the time/distance varies.
Avatar f tn Also when I put my new weight when I log off from the application it, when I log back in it shows me the old one. I am thinking probably that's why the calories continue to decrease everyday.
Avatar n tn She has increased fluids and salt in her diet dramatically. Now she is being sent for a tilt table test but the docs are really confused. Any ideas?
Avatar f tn In the meantime get a notebook and log the experiences and the duration. In some people these are triggered by light on the optic nerve, usually flickering light and usually (but not always) in the red spectrum (blink lights on a fire engine, or the flicker of a flourescent bulb or a CRT computer screen are common culprits). Wearing dark or polarized eyeglasses sometimes helps with the problem.
Avatar f tn Unfortunately there is no perfect diet and there no perfect diet for diabetes. But avoiding simple carbs is good for everyone. A BG meter is a good tool to use. Check out everything. Even beans. Yes some people have a very large and long lasting spike on beans, even though books suggest it as a good choice. Supplements can help some people. If you want to go in that direction consider things like chromium, they help some people control BG.
2065348 tn?1331075207 You will have several people take a look and try to figure out a diagnosis. TYry to get an inexpensive notebook and log the symptoms on a daily basis. Be prepared to provide a chronology of symptoms from time of onset, duration, intensity, and if you were doing anything when they came on.

Avatar f tn Prepare a week long food log of what you eat. Do discuss this log with your doctor and get yourself examined. Take care!
Avatar f tn I'm not sure what could causing the problem. You can go to the Improve MedHelp Suggestions Help forum. The mods there, will be able to help you. You can access that forum via the following link: http://www.medhelp.
8171562 tn?1408628833 Last night lying on bed next to him he goes to log in to his e-mail on his phone and an error (wrong password) pops up, so he get out of bed, walks to the desk, puts his password in and then get back into bed. At first I think nothing of it cause he's always imputing it wrong anyways. But I got to thinking, he normally just asks me what it is...and he didn't. So this morning out of curiousity I decided to "attempt" to log in.
Avatar f tn Where is the section in this app for carb counting
Avatar f tn s keeping a log with the monitor on and it might be helpful to keep with the log in a spiral bound notebook of dates, times & symptoms
Avatar f tn You might be able to see the food under your “Recent” foods list even though it’s not displaying on your daily log. If it does display on your“Recent” foods list, you should be able to add it from there and have it displayed. Hope that helps! Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Avatar f tn Hi there, first time here just wanted to say hello. I'm starting my diet and exercise log tomorrow and hope I'll be successful. Looking forward to being here.
Avatar n tn s suggestion of keeping a record is an excellent one. Get a notebook and keep a daily log of everything she eats, how many times she goes out, whether or not she is drinking an inordinate amount of water that day, etc., and hopefully if she has another one of these episodes you will be able to draw some kind of line to SOMETHING that she did or ate that day that you can use to give the vet a clue. And PLEASE keep us posted as to what goes on with her.
Avatar f tn I've had similar episodes, all caused by self-created stress, exacerbated by my smoking and caffeine intake. Do you have a Primary Care Physician? If not, get one and start to see them on a regular basis. ER's can/will do nothing to offer relief or diagnosis for an Anxiety/Panic disorder (trust me, I know) and the only way to really determine a diagnosis is to track you symptoms, diet, exercise and stress levels on a daily basis, and providing your PCP with this data.
865758 tn?1285952904 I am sensitive to meds and each increase has been slowly. I started on 25mcg thyroxin daily then went to 62.mcg daily then went to 75mcg daily then WHAMM! I went hyper again. So then I was dosed at: 50mcg = mon, wed, fri, sun As each fortnight went past the dose was increased by 12.5mcg a week. I went to 62.5mcg 7 days a week eventually only to find hyper symptoms again. So I am currently on 62.5mcg Mon, Wed, Thurs, Sat, Sun and 50mcg on the other days.

Avatar n tn My doctor wants me to attempt to control my blood sugar through diet, increased exercise, (and weight loss, of course), before starting me on medication. (Recent Hg a1c test was 5.9). My blood sugar is very slow to fall to desireable levels after a meal. A recent fasting plasma glucose level was 116 after a 20 hour fast. What do I do if my fasting or before meal blood glucose is above 130? Do I eat something anyway, or wait until my blood glucose drops below 130, or perhaps below 110?
616450 tn?1228433627 Folks, I talked to my endocrinologist about the way certain foods seem to affect my thyroid. She said nothing I eat can help or hurt my thyroid, but I could swear I feel it almost HURT about a half hour after I eat a lot of dairy. Also, if I eat something like Sun Chips--or any thing else with a lot of enriched wheat flour, etc.--I feel it as well along with a "pumped up" feeling. I read some about it online, but the endo claims it doesn't have much to do with my diet.
