Avatar f tn He is a very health conscious 21 year old uni student. He keeps to an exceptionally healthy diet and has an interest in bodybuilding in which he works out 4-5 days a week for about 60-90 mins. He doesn't have problems sleeping and is not stressed out or have any sort of performance anxiety that know of. He takes supplements to aid him which were protien, AAKG, creatine, glutamine and tribulus. About 3 weeks ago he cut it down to just the protien, aakg and glutamine.
Avatar f tn I'm currently 16, and have been thinking I have thyroid issues for a while. I then thought my symptoms indicated diabetes. I posted a question, and a woman said my symptoms showed thyroid problems. Here's several of my symptoms- foamy pee, unable to lose bodyfat fast(as unbelievable as it is, I have a perfect diet since I'm bodybuilding), slow muscle recovery, excess sweating ,muscle weakness, bad immune system, and on occasions I'll get very hungry.
Avatar m tn The exercise part of bodybuilding is good for your liver, but you might want to think twice about doing a protein-heavy bodybuilder's diet. Too much protein can stress your liver. You might want to talk to a doctor about what is the appropriate amount of protein intake.
Avatar n tn There are several websites on which you can keep a food journal or even just start a journal here on MedHelp; I also understand that MedHelp is coming out with a food journal in the near future... Make sure you get plenty of exercise - it will not only help burn calories, but it will help give you more energy. Good luck and keep posting.
Avatar m tn Im a 21 year old male, Im a regular gym user and have a big interest in natural bodybuilding and my diet is typically high in protein, carbs and essential fats, I also normally eat six smaller meals.
539156 tn?1281818356 s, I went to a bodybuilding gym 4-6 times per week. I walked or jogged every morning. I was in the best shape of my life. Why can't I get into that mindset again? It is so illogical and irrational. I know "diets don't work," I've tried them all! I am afflicted with some health problems now, some of which would be much better if I lost 50 pounds and exercised. Maybe some of you can help me get started....
Avatar m tn Does anyone know how long you're supposed to wait before bringing back "trigger" foods into your diet. My doctor said I can do it by the end of this month, but I am a bit nervous because I don't know how to go about doing this. I know I'm not supposed to bring them all back at once but do I just eat a trigger food then wait a few days? I don't get it. I am concerned that if I even eat one trigger food, my esophagus will swell up again.
Avatar m tn Do your mean lifting weights as in weight lifting the sport, or lifting weights as in bodybuilding, I cant think of a reason that bodybuilding should stunt your growth, but that you may just a small build, in that case you may find it hard to build your weight up, and weight lifting could stop you growing by the amount of weights that you lift over your head.
Avatar m tn I just got into weightlifting and bodybuilding. The info on the net is vague about lifting weights causing damage to the eye or Scleral-Buckle or retina by lifting weights. I know in some rare instances weightlifting has caused a retina to become detached. This is not the norm. No one can so far tell me except for eye strain or straining the face and head while lifting, what damage can occur or how this happens. That's what I want to know.

Avatar m tn I pride myself on being in good cardiovascular health as a right now. Prior to becoming an endurance athlete, eating a diet low in saturated fat with ample fruits and vegetables, I did hypertrophy, bodybuilding type training. I started having really bad anxiety and getting panic attacks while lifting weights so i stopped that all together. I then began having anxiety more frequent outside of the weight room. It has recently began to subside.
Avatar m tn Hi, I am a 26 yr old male who recently had a mild gout attack because the uric acid levels in my blood were high and so as my cholesterol. The gout is gone now after watching my diet, keeping away from high purines and taking medicine. I just don't want it to come back, so i began researching the internet on what to do. I am quite confused about what foods to eat and avoid for Gout, as what i am reading over the internet, some things seem to be contradictory with each other.
644974 tn?1312758070 Are you trying to write a journal through the Journal interface or through the Tracker interface? On My MedHelp, on the Journals panel, you should see a link that says, Write a new journal entry. If you click that, you should see a form that has text boxes for Title, Journal Entry and Tags. Do you see that?
976084 tn?1270872439 I don't want to copy and paste what I wrote in my journal but if someone thinks they might want to help me can you please read it. Thank you for anyone who actually does...
Avatar m tn anyone else doing a pregnancy journal for their child to read once they're older?:) I've been pretty loyal to mine.:) I hope my son will enjoy and appreciate it once he is older.
Avatar m tn I would only say that this website probably has a different approach every five minutes. Bodybuilding magazines, and this is basically one, usually in the same issue will have three or four different theories of the same exercise. I used to sell bodybuilding supplements in small quantities when I managed health foods stores, and they always sent several magazines with every order.

Avatar n tn Adam Drewnowski and Allen S. Levine write in the "Journal of Nutrition" that added sugar and fat make up more than 50 percent of the typical American diet and contributes to the obesity epidemic. Craving sweets after a meal can hamper weight loss efforts. You try to deny the craving, only making it more pronounced. If you indulge the craving, stopping with a small serving may be impossible for you.
Avatar f tn In fact, the easiest method is combining suitable diet and moderate sports with internal medicine therapy. Be clear with the pathogeny and take corresponding measures. Reducing alcohol use can improve fatty liver due to alcohol toxicity. Controlling blood sugar may reduce the severity of fatty liver in patients with diabetes. Increasing nutrition can help fatty liver caused by malalnutrition. Anyway, eliminating the basic reason is helpful for curing fatty liver.
