Avatar f tn Hi, A lower calorie balanced diet is very effective for weight loss. A low carb diet causes the body to go into Ketosis whereby the body uses its fat as a source of energy. Also when you are in ketosis your body feels less hungry. This all sounds good except that this can also lead to kidney issues (even failure), osteoporosis, and kidney stones. Stay balanced and control your calories and you'll lose weight and avoid the side effects. Good luck.

I have been on and off on diets and exersice for the past couple of years and i dont know whats wrong with but i cant seen to stay on it because i find that it does not work fast enough for me so i get discouraged and just give up. Avatar n tn Losing weight quickly usually means putting it back on, because the only way to permanently lose weight is to permanently change your diet and lifestyle, and that takes time. Of course, if you're grossly overweight and completely sedentary, losing weight will be quicker doing anything positive than if you're not that overweight and already exercising, in which case it will take more time but also be easier to get to your ultimate goal.

Avatar f tn You can't spot lose; you'll have to lose weight all over in order to lose the tummy weight. Is the skin you have on your tummy, just lose skin or is there fat under it? If it's just lose skin, it may because your skin stretched during your pregnancy and you might not be able to get rid of that simply by losing weight. Almost any type of work out is good, as long it's something you enjoy and will stick with. Walking is always excellent.

Avatar f tn Losing weight isn't about silly ideas or having it fall off fast. You probably didn't gain it fast, so you can't expect to lose it fast either. 15 lbs is too much to expect to lose safely in one month, but you can get started and lose as much as possible. The 3 areas that are the most important for weight loss, seem to be the 3 areas in which you're the least flexible. Those are diet, exercise and sleep.

So, I had one done today and my weight wasn't a suprise, but I noticed my blood pressure and cholesterol levels were not high but above normal. I'm only 25 years old. I realized today that my eating is effecting my health and I have to take charge of it now. After I got the exam done at work I got back to my desk and started crying. I have no idea how I let it get this far.

Avatar n tn You can eat a healthy diet and keep moving so you don't gain too fast, but you should not expect to lose weight. If your doctors not worried you shouldn't be either. Gaining weight, everywhere not just in the tummy is just part of being pregnant.

I'm 129 pounds and 5'1.5", I feel a normal weight is at LEAST 10 pounds lighter. I would be happy at 119 pounds. I was up to 140 pounds last summer and somehow lost 11 pounds. How do I lose the extra 10? The one habit I can't seem to break is eating before bedtime.

The only true way to lose weight is through better nutritional choices, moderate exercise and the support of those of us on this site. Avatar m tn A few nuts, some fruit, these are the kinds of snacks I try to have. This really helps me lose weight. But everyone is SO different and you have to stick to what is best for you. Have you tried the intermittent fasting where you stop eating at say 7 pm and don't eat again until 7 am? I see you eat low carb and no sugar now. What do you eat then? What's your portion control like? Exercise is great, it sounds like.
