Common Questions and Answers about Diet ideas allergies

diet

Avatar f tn I know how expensive allergies can be to control. Some pointers for you to think about. Diet could be a cheaper answer in the grand scheme of things but to do a true elimination diet you have to try a food that has a limited protein source and make sure that there are no hidden ingredients that could be causing the diet to not be a true elimination.

Avatar m tn Oh, and also environmental allergies/chemical allergies, your symptoms really sound like this could be a problem. Have you painted your house lately, put in new carpet, changed detergents or personal products? These can all cause allergies and the exact symptoms you have mentioned.
676912 tn?1332812551 Especially for people with allergies and sensitivities. This is also true when following an elimination diet. It is better to stick with single ingredients for the most part, because at least you know what you're putting into your body. I do recommend following an elimination diet to discover food sensitivities that your son doesn't test positive for.
Avatar n tn I had always been trim throughout my life but I find now that the pounds and inches have squated on my waist, shoulders and hips. I walk 20 mins everyday with the dog. My diet is strange as I not only have allergies but I cannot cook (too painful). I want my waist back. Any advice would be helpful. I list my allergies for you. Herbs and spices, Pesticides and fertizers, Fish. I also suffer from Irritable Bowel. I take Co-Dydramol for the pain and I don't sleep very well.

Avatar f tn Thanks everyone for your ideas, we have been working with doctors for the last two years and not getting very far. To clarify: by a raw diet, I meant most of his food is natural like our great grandparents would have eaten, sorry for the confusion.
Avatar f tn I have had two miscarriages over this time. After the first one, I gained about 15 pounds (unable to lose with diet and exercise), have had increased bloating, constipation, headaches, stomache pain, pms, fatigue, dry, itchy skin, and irritability. I have been to several medical doctors and naturopaths, and been tested for hypothyroid, food allergies, celiac disease, and polycystic ovarian disease.

I do have a lot of UTI's and have been diagnosed with bladder cystitis. I have also recently been recently diagnosed with acid reflux. Other than that I am pretty healthy. I do catch colds easily, bruise easily, and heal slowly. I do have anxiety. However, I am in graduate school pursuing a PH.D. Thank you in advance for any help.
Avatar f tn Hello & welcome.....Are you sure it's Yeast? Did your Vet culture the wax to see what your dealing with? Usually, Black Tar substance is Ear Mites...It Looks like coffee grounds....Is that what your seeing? Your Vet will prescribe drops for mites...It works very well. If it's Mites, none of these things you've tried will work! Please, don't use alcohol in the ears.....It's too drying and will damage the soft tissue!
Avatar n tn You have a couple of options and one would be to do an elimination diet. Eliminate the suspected foods from your diet for a while, usually a couple of weeks, and then slowly incorporate them back in with very small amounts, one at a time. You will most likely know right away which ones bother you or not. I never had hives either until I stopped eating several suspected foods and tried them again months later.
Avatar n tn Most dogs with food allergies also have environmental allergies. Environmental allergies don't have to occur only from things that are outside. Dust mites, storage mites and indoor molds are high allergens also. Since allergens penetrate dogs skin it is good to bathe your dog very frequently (once per week) with medicated, hypoallergenic shampoo. Environment allergies are impossible to control. A Hepa air filter will help for indoor and outdoor allergens.
Avatar f tn My next step is to follow an elimination diet for food allergies. I have a couple allergies and am aware that they can present in odd ways, so I figure it's harmless to take a look from that angle. Can anyone here give me other ideas or questions I can ask my doctor? My GP isn't bad, but I'm pretty sure he has run out of ideas and I'm going to start getting brushed off.
Avatar f tn I have been off the meds for about 3 weeks or so and I had severe allergies prior to tx. I did not realize but the allergies were improved while on tx. and now they are back full force. I am assuming that in some ways my immune system was suppressed and other ways it was working very well. Anyone have any ideas or experience this?
Avatar f tn I was eating a relatively high protein diet for a few months, since I am an active athlete and was looking to lose a few pounds. However, during the past month or two I have decreased my protein consumption to an estimated 55-70 grams/day. I am also trying to figure out if I have any food allergies, since my digestion has been a bit odd for the past few months. I don't know if the urine is related to the kidneys, or perhaps diet allergies are involved as well.
Avatar m tn About a month ago I started getting a weird taste in my mouth (sort of like a pill taste, maybe metallic not sure) I thought maybe allergies. Anyway a little over a week ago I started having numbness/ tingling in bottoms of both feet and fingertips of both hands. I went to primary and he ordered blood tests for vitamin deficiencies, zinc, lyme and thyroid problems. All these are normal with the exception of zinc which lab report just says "test not performed".
Avatar f tn I did not see where to post this question, I hope someone can give me some suggestions. I have been feelinf ill to my stomach for over two weeks. I don't feel like drinking any water which I know I need to be doing. I got some lemon lime soda the other day to sip on it. I feel like I have lot's of acid in my stomach. Avatar m tn Okay so my chronic diarrhea started at the end of summer, I had been diagnosed with food allergies earlier that year. My allergies were to nuts and soy, so I continued to eat soybean oil and soy lecithin with really no problem. One day I went home and had really bad diarrhea and ever since then I have had recurring floating stools/diarrhea, although the diarrhea is not near what it was that day. I blamed soy for my allergies and I have been on and off eating soybean oil and days where I do not.

Avatar n tn Hello, Dark circles under the eyes are temporary and caused due to insomnia, smoking, a family history of dark circles, deficiency of vitamin K in diet, allergies like sinusitis and eczema, and adrenal gland disorders. Take rest adequately and eat healthy nutritious food containing lots of green vegetables. Try to avoid caffeine, because it promotes water retention and leads to the dryness of the eye.
Avatar f tn Hi Guys, Look up sperm allergy. It'a actually a very common problem and I myself suffer from the same thing. The type of diet your man has, or certain products in his diet can affect his sperm. Cola's, nuts, and medication that your partner is on are the main allergies that can affect sperm. There is treatment for it, although I have read that the woman over type can build up immunities to the allergy. You should only start worrying if your chest gets tight or it's hard to breathe.

Avatar f tn Everything that I eat gives me indigestion, and I'm hungry all the time and don't know what to buy because I've never been a good diet person besides Diet Coke and I gave that up. I've tried looking on YouTube for good meals to cook but with school and work I dont have much time for cooking gourmet. If anyone has any good ideas for fast "cheaper" meals I would greatly appreciate it!
