193137 tn?1367880063 I stand by what I said, if you look at the diet, a lot of the foods that are eliminated are very healthy for you. Of course, a lot of the foods the diet recommends to not eat are definitely worth eliminating. I would just like to see a little bit more balance in their recommendations.

Avatar n tn Food triggers are different for different persons. Some people find cold foods worsening the pain whereas some find spicy foods intolerable. Foods that contain a lot of fat may also trigger the pain. For you it seems to be the same. Please avoid spicy, high salt and high fat diet. Hope this helps you. Take care and regards!
Avatar m tn I am concerned that if I even eat one trigger food, my esophagus will swell up again. Has anybody started incorporating trigger foods into your diet? Also, I am concerned because I don't usually FEEL reflux. It is more silent, I think sometimes.

Avatar m tn Just see which foods work for you. Low carb is the best way to control blood sugar. You will need to cut the carbs and increase the fats (healthy fats that is: from animals and dairy, nuts, avocado). Avoid processed foods / transfats.
880023 tn?1241744504 just wondering if any of you guys stick to a certain pregnancy diet or something like that! I am not fallowing any kind of diet, just trying to eat lots of vegetables and fruits, drink lots of water and juices etc...
Avatar f tn How can I diet and eat healthy if my parents do not buy healthy food? I have talked to them about why we need to eat healthy, and they have just told me it costs too much. They will not get good foods and I do not have control over groceries myself.
637356 tn?1301924822 it seems to work by giving your body negative consequences for eating the wrong foods. If you read all the literature on it, it causes oily anal leakage if your diet has over a very small percentage of fat in it (the exact number eludes me now). So if you take the medicine and eat the right foods, great but if not you have quite unpleasant side effects and that's kind of how most people say they lose the weight.
Avatar f tn The problem with this is that diet is a very individual thing. Many people in the weight loss biz are obsessed with calories, but that's not really the key to diet, although it is important. The key is how well you digest what you're eating and how quickly it metabolizes into sugar. Low carb low fat diets are mostly a fad that can work short term but is unhealthy long-term.
Avatar m tn Try to make an appointment with a diabetic nutritionist to educate you about foods you should eat and what foods to avoid. Ask your doctor for a referral. "need other tips so that my a-1c gets better. any ideas?" Diabetes control is simple and requires a lifestyle change. Proper nutrition, physical exercise 5 times a week and maintaining proper body weight all play a key role, especially the physical exercise. Hope this gave you some ideas.
1291271 tn?1275493372 What foods should I eat after working out and how long after the workout should I eat them? Also is pizza a good munch after I workout or am I defeating the purpose?
Avatar f tn I have tried dieting (1 year), exercising (2 years)(granted I still do exercise though it is limited cause of Asthma problems) drinking more water (still do), eating healthy foods (still do), you name it. But nothing seems to be working. I really would love to loose the weight that I have and get to a healthy size. Also my left side, just on my hip is twice as large as my right side. And I know people say (your just un-proportionate!
Avatar n tn m having difficulty with the carbs. It says I should be consuming about 130 carbs but it seems to me so many foods contain carbs. An apple and banana are both things I thought was good but they contain carbs that add to my 130. Carrots is another snack I wanted to eat and also has about 10 g.
Avatar m tn t want to mess with the medications and want them to work most effectively, so wanted to ask if I should follow any dieting guidelines. 1) Are there any foods I should avoid? 2) If tolerable, is it better to take the medication on an empty stomach?
Avatar f tn GI = Glycemic Index. A low GI diet is one in which the things you eat will not spike blood sugar levels, but will work to help stabilize them. For instance, eating a piece of candy will spike your blood sugar rather quickly, whereas eating a carrot will not, because of the lower sugar/carb content. Regular pasta will spike your blood sugar more quickly than whole gain pasta because it takes longer to digest the whole grain, so it doesn't go straight to the blood.
