Avatar n tn ve had really good luck in the past with eating some fats and veggies. For instance, if I focus on eating my veggies first, that helps fill me up (and I season them however I want - butter, salt, balsamic, whatever sauce I want - I figure veggies covered in just about anything are healthier than chocolates and jolly ranchers...). Olive oil and butter on veggies seem to help me feel satisfied with them.
Avatar n tn my mom 78yo was dx with diabetes last wk (bld sugar 257)only symptom was tired and dry mouth..she prob had it for a while.she would eat candy and her diet was sporadic, apetitie down,,,.her dr wants her to try diet first...her sugars this past week, fasting, run about 180-240...she has stopped all sugars, is eating better, 3 meals a day, wheat breads, salad/vegs/fruit uses sugar free sodas and occass has had sugar free cookies....todays fbs was 288..I'm not sure what caused it...
Avatar f tn Also, he should stop eating all the garbage, drop out the processed man-made packaged/canned foods. He needs to go back to a healthy diet of whole foods, fresh vegetables & fruits. Whole grains which you actually cook yourself. Very often when everything you eat makes you sick it's a telltale sign that there is either an infection and/or are aggravating foods in your diet which have only progressed as you haven't changed your ways.

(Also some eating disorder "programs" which are not based on sound ED treatment principals)Eating disorders are an illness.
Avatar n tn Look up "the full plate diet" it's really NOT a diet, but healthy eating. That's what I do, all it is, is a high fiber diet eating lots of whole grains (brown rice, wheat bread, oatmeal) fruits, vegetables and water.

I know that eating healthy is the most important thing now than before as I'm expecting but I just can't seem to keep any of it down. His diet seems unacceptable. I never say this, but I think you need to stop giving him access to several of these things, and you can substitute other like things. He won't starve to death - he'll eat the other things.
Avatar f tn I hear the BRAT diet is suppose to help, my midwife suggests it to everyone. Even though it feels impossible to eat, try bananas, rice, applesauce and toast. No specific order. They say if you keep food in your belly you may feel better even though the thought is atrocious now.

Another way to eat better is to remember this, when you go shopping shop on the OUTSIDE of the grocery store. Almost everything that is processed is in the middle.

I would take Omega 3 but what ever supplements I take I seem to feel bad or get stomach upsets except for Vit C ...someone suggested I use liquid supplements instead of tablets .I am trying to educate myself a lot by reading and googling , coming here for advice others have is also helpful to me ,thank you ..
Avatar f tn As usual, I will suggest you don't look at the website above -- Atkins has been proven not to work and to not be healthy. There are many better options. And just to be clear, you're not on a no-carb diet -- vegetables and fruits and beans also contain carbs. I assume what you mean is you're not eating simple carbs, or I hope that's what you mean. Being too austere in your diet can be a problem, especially if you're diet is unbalanced.
Avatar n tn most definitely!! i before I got pregnant with my first, I was overweight, smoked and drank a lot and just generally unhealthy,my husband and I had unprotected sex for 3 years with out ever getting pregnant,we just thought that I couldn't, then I started working out and stopped drinking and cut down on smoking a lot, I lost 50 pounds then BAM I ended up pregnant like a week after I reached my weight loss goal lol I honestly believe getting in shape.

Theres lots of healthy food I cant stand but lots I love. I still enjoy a cake and some chocolate now and then...im not a rabbit...its just everything in moderation.
1088509 tn?1352236247 Well, I can give you one piece of advice that should be real easy to do.........get your son on a good healthy diet, so he will grow up eating things that are good for him, with few snacks -- then it won't matter if you snack on his food or not....... I'd also say that the reason you are snacking on HIS food is that you aren't satisfied with your own, which means that you need to come up with things to eat that will satisfy you, not just fill you up.

But all of a sudden within the last year I lost my appetite, its interesting because i had never experinced it before. I have lost weight now without trying at all and that is very different for me and really nice.
