My liver levels two years ago were normal. How can this happen? I have been in Diclofenac (Naproxen) medicine for 3 1/2 months as result of a foot injury. Do you think my abnormal levels could be related to this medicine? I'm so concerned.
Is anyone on Diclofenac? I am on it for an orthopedic condition and have been on it almost 4 weeks. It works, but am unsure how long I will be on it. As short a time as possible, I hope,...but, I was wondering....for those with arthritis (which it usually prescribed for,,).....are you on it daily? As an ongoing medication? I hope to go off it to avoid risks with prolonged usage,but up to now...it has not caused me any problems.
You also should communicate to your PCP that the Naproxen is not working. It works Peripherally. They should start you on diclofenac. Also ask for a transdermal compound consisting of Ketamine, NSAID, Anesthetic, Muscle relaxant if needed, and Neurolytic if needed. If I knew more about your current pain and injuries I could be more specific. If you are not on antidepressants, ask them for Tramadol with Acetaminophen, which would be much more appropriate.
after breakfast Naproxen 500mg I tablet. After lunch (1) colchicine (1) naproxen. at bedtime again (1) colchicine, (1)naproxen. 2nd day (1) colchicine and if swollen is present take the naproxen.
I can't eat red meats, or alcohol without noticing the next 18-24 hours that gout flares are developing. therefore, if I know ahead of time that a steak and wine is going to be for dinner, I go ahead and take the colchicine before heading to the steakhouse.
I would recommend an MRI of head/brain with CONTRAST, an MRI of the neck and a Neurology consult for starts.

There are other NSAIDS other than diclofenac that can be used in the treatment of gout. These include indomethacin and naproxen. Even paracetamol (acetaminophen) can provide pain relief in a gout attack.
If your father has been prescribed a medication called dutasteride for treatment of the BPH, it is possible that the diclofenac was interacting with it and leading to his problems with urination.

- 2 ibuprofen (200mg each) usually, OR 2 acetaminophen (500mg each), OR 2 naproxen sodium (220mg each), OR 1 Rx meloxicam 15mg. (Pain killer taken for residual pain from knee being “scoped” 1/20/12)

Thanks. For pain meds, he has Naprosyn (naproxen suspension) and Diclofenac gel (higher concentration for ortho issues), and the usual over-th-counter - Advil/Tylenol.
I don't offer meds when I notice discomfort anymore. I try to wait until he asks. (unless he's reduced to hopping on one foot). It's a tricky balance between feeling like I'm letting him suffer vs. giving a little guy too much meds. Also, he's a typical kid.
Question. I have started taking Diclofenac 75mg x's 2 a day to try and see if a non narcotic medication may give me some relief long term with my rib pain. I have taken it for 2 weeks and at first I didn't think it was helping at all. Now I think 1 of 2 things either A) it's starting to build up in my system and is helping better or B) My ribs just happen to feel a bit better lately.
i have taken diclofenac for over 20 years with no side effects i have had to come off the tablets 75mg x twice day 4 days ago as I am showing some drying of kidneys from another mediation to ensure it is that one i have come off anything whih might affect me.
No constapation and been taking ibprofin for pain
I still have no other symptoms today and the fever is either gone or controlled with the Rx diclofenac(anti-inflammatory like naproxen). I am beginning to wonder if I might have experienced this before if it were not for the medication that I take regularly except for yesterday when I tried to see how I felt without it.
Just wondering if anyone has some advice for me...

on day 10....today my doctor prescribed me Naproxen for my chronic back pain. I know I could search this, but would rather ask anyone with any experience with it's use. Good idea or not to use after 10 days clean. I dont even know if it's a "mild" narcotic or not, however I believe it's similar to Aleeve. Advice? thanks in advance.
My 59 year old husband, Hep C+ diagnosed in 2007, F-4 Cirrhosis diagnosed in 2010, compensated liver (last blood work was in July, 2012, and he has never had ascites, varices, or hepatic encephalopathy), and failed three Hep C treatments in past 5 years (last failure was triple tx w/Incivek stopped treatment mid-April, 2012 due to viral breakthrough), not currently on treatment.
Question: He has had pain and swelling on forearm recently.
since this started i have had 5 courses of antibiotics (Cipro and Doxy), various anti inflammatory (naproxen, diclofenac, ibuprofen) and i have constantly been taking tramadol (up to 400mg per day). it is so bad I cannot work or even sit in a car while my partner drives me to each appointment.
I am currently waiting for an MRI scan which will probably show nothing again i just find it hard to believe that the NHS can leave me like this and say there is nothing they can do.
I think I need the strong stuff like diclofenac and B12 and b6. There is a pills called OKA B that I use to take when having muscle pain and it took pains away. But I've heard that diclofenac is not good to take during tx. Has anyone taken diclofenac during tx or is it too bad for the liver.
