arthrotec

Avatar f tn Is anyone on Diclofenac? I am on it for an orthopedic condition and have been on it almost 4 weeks. It works, but am unsure how long I will be on it. As short a time as possible, I hope,...but, I was wondering....for those with arthritis (which it usually prescribed for,,).....are you on it daily? As an ongoing medication? I hope to go off it to avoid risks with prolonged usage, but up to now...it has not caused me any problems.
Avatar f tn you need to see your neurologist who would prescribe stronger analgesics. Avoid potent ones like indomethacin and diclofenac since there is increased risk of kidney and heart failure. Opioids like co-codamol and hydrocodne may be required if severe pain is there and intracranial lesions are ruled out. eye and ear on the right need to be evaluated since this could be a referred pain. a brain MRI needs to be done to rule out any intracranial lesions or aneurysm. Take care and all the best.
Avatar m tn Hi, There are other NSAIDS other than diclofenac that can be used in the treatment of gout. These include indomethacin and naproxen. Even paracetamol (acetaminophen) can provide pain relief in a gout attack. If your father has been prescribed a medication called dutasteride for treatment of the BPH, it is possible that the diclofenac was interacting with it and leading to his problems with urination.
Avatar f tn Indometacin (Indocin, Indomethacin) Is just another NSAID. (like Ibuprophen, Diclofenac) However, it has a higher rate of gastrointestinal irritation. It also is known to reduce cerebral and Basal blood flow. (I would think this to be a bad thing for Chiari) What's more important, is how much you take, when you take it, what other medications you take, etc.
Avatar m tn and now diclofenac sodium and omeprazole). I have though had an adverse reaction the diclofenac (diarrhoea) and my doc has changed this to indomethacin in the last 2 days. I am now having similar nerve pains (stabbing, burning etc) in my inner thigh on my right leg, which like the myalgia p. gets worse when I lie down to sleep. I am obese 90Kg and 5'6" female and 42 years old. I do not have any other health issues ( I have enough already!!!). My question is...
453731 tn?1225199508 You should not take acetaminophen (Tylenol), aspirin, or NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) unless your doctor has told you to. NSAIDs include celecoxib (Celebrex), diclofenac (Voltaren), ibuprofen (Motrin, Advil), indomethacin, naproxen (Aleve, Naprosyn), piroxicam (Feldene), and others. These medicines may affect blood clotting and could cause serious bleeding in your stomach or intestines. Avoid sudden changes in your diet. Vitamin K decreases the effects of Coumadin.
Avatar f tn I would recommend an MRI of head/brain with CONTRAST, an MRI of the neck and a Neurology consult for starts. You should post in the Neurology and Neck/Back Forums vs ENT Forum.
Avatar n tn It’s a headache disorder that responds really well to Indomethacin (in fact for the most part it only responds to Indomethacin). In my case it only responds to Indomethacin. It took a year to dx me and in that time I tried many different treatments. Some people are able to cut back on their dose of Indomethacin or stop it completely w/ no more headaches, I am unable to cut back or stop. I have trouble tolerating Indomethacin and all NSAIDs.
Avatar f tn Question. I have started taking Diclofenac 75mg x's 2 a day to try and see if a non narcotic medication may give me some relief long term with my rib pain. I have taken it for 2 weeks and at first I didn't think it was helping at all. Now I think 1 of 2 things either A) it's starting to build up in my system and is helping better or B) My ribs just happen to feel a bit better lately.
Avatar n tn i have taken diclofenac for over 20 years with no side effects i have had to come off the tablets 75mg x twice day 4 days ago as I am showing some drying of kidneys from another mediation to ensure it is that one i have come off anything whih might affect me.
653169 tn?1303446369 Does anyone have any experience with diclofenac? If so, does it work better than over the counter antiinflammatory drugs and does upset the stomach much?
Avatar f tn Hemicrania continua respond to Indmethacin. Long term use of indomethacin can result in gastrointestinal adverse effects. Melatonin is a hormone secreted by pineal gland and is very similar in chemical structure to indomethacin without the risk of gastro intestinal side effects. That’s the reason melatonin is now being considered as an effective treatment option. Patients with history of severe allergies are advised not to take melatonin in general. Hope this answers your question!
Avatar f tn My 59 year old husband, Hep C+ diagnosed in 2007, F-4 Cirrhosis diagnosed in 2010, compensated liver (last blood work was in July, 2012, and he has never had ascites, varices, or hepatic encephalopathy), and failed three Hep C treatments in past 5 years (last failure was triple tx w/Incivek stopped treatment mid-April, 2012 due to viral breakthrough), not currently on treatment. Question: He has had pain and swelling on forearm recently.
Avatar m tn I think I need the strong stuff like diclofenac and B12 and b6. There is a pills called OKA B that I use to take when having muscle pain and it took pains away. But I've heard that diclofenac is not good to take during tx. Has anyone taken diclofenac during tx or is it too bad for the liver.
1204528 tn?1588786333 I checked interactions with carbamazepine + diclofenac epolamine topical/diclofenac ophtalmic/diclofenac potassium/diclofenac sodium/diclofenac topical.
1079474 tn?1256006863 The ONLY medicine that seems to help to any degree is indomethacin, which is not one normally used. You might get your doc to try a few days of it to see if it helps. If you have this type of headache, narcotics don't help very well, only a few seem to get benefit from them. I can't take the indomethacin, so I have an occipital stimulator to help with the pain and use a combination of phenergan/vistaryl.

Avatar m tn I dislocated my shoulder two weeks ago, and had an x-ray in the emergency room which showed no broken bones. I have since seen a physiotherapist, last week, where I have been given exercises and have been told to return in two weeks, to see if there is improved movement of my shoulder/arm, and to see if the pain has subsided. The pain continues to wake me at night, and today, the pain has been severe. I have been unable to do any exercises due to the pain.
Avatar m tn He prescribed indomethacin. I expereienced a lot of relief for about 10 days on the indomethaicn, but relief suddenly stopped after that. After about 10 more ineffective days on indomethacin, I was switched to Feldene. The Feldene was moderately effective, some relief but significant pain persisted. Though, pain became much worse when Feldene was discontinued.
551116 tn?1288190247 I do get some partial relief from Relpax (taken 1x per week max per md instruction) and indomethacin and steroids helped when I was on them. Now my neurologist will not represribe the indomethacin because she feels it is too dangerous to take daily for months as I have, but she has nothing to replace it.
Avatar m tn meds to help get and stay asleep and for depression. I was prescribed indomethacin to help with post-coital headaches. While this mostly aleviates the headaches, I still have symptons. I take my other meds at bedtime and always right b4 the indomethacin and go to sleep right after sex as this seems to help with the symptons.
