Topical counterirritants may be helpful. In case, spondylosis is seen on X ray, additionaly physiotherapy along with pain killers will be helpful.
My PCP currently has me on a short (1 week) oral steroid cycle (methylprednisolone 4mg) alongside topical anti-inflammatory gel (diclofenac) to reduce the swelling and reevaluate later but, if inflammation returns post-cycle, a cortisone injection into that tendon is apparently the next option.

Question. I have started taking Diclofenac 75mg x's 2 a day to try and see if a non narcotic medication may give me some relief long term with my rib pain. I have taken it for 2 weeks and at first I didn't think it was helping at all. Now I think 1 of 2 things either A) it's starting to build up in my system and is helping better or B) My ribs just happen to feel a bit better lately.
i have taken diclofenac for over 20 years with no side effects i have had to come off the tablets 75mg x twice day 4 days ago as I am showing some drying of kidneys from another mediation to ensure it is that one i have come off anything whih might affect me.
Is anyone on Diclofenac? I am on it for an orthopedic condition and have been on it almost 4 weeks. It works, but am unsure how long I will be on it. As short a time as possible, I hope,...but, I was wondering....for those with arthritis (which it usually prescribed for,,).....are you on it daily? As an ongoing medication? I hope to go off it to avoid risks with prolonged usage,but up to now...it has not caused me any problems.
Apply awrm compresses on the area of pain and also take some anti-inflammatory analgesics like Diclofenac or ibuprofen.Also apply some topical muscle relaxant on the muscle.
If the symptoms persist then pls take a physician’s/neurologist’s evaluation for this.Nerve conduction velocity tests and electromyography are required to confirm the diagnosis.

I've been experiencing pain in the neck, which runs down my right arm, for the past 24 months. I initially ignored it because I thought it was due to poor posture from prolonged computer gaming. However, nowadays, the pain has worsened, I consulted a physician who ordered me an x-ray of the cervical spine (AP/Lat). The report came in stating 'loss of normal cervical curvature possibly due to muscle spasm'. Currently, I'm on NSAID (diclofenac) and a cervical collar.

From the symptoms it does not look like a jaw pain due to an allergic reaction to this topical treatment. It looks like temporomandibular joint pain to me. TMJ pain disorders usually occur because of unbalanced activity, spasm, or overuse of the jaw muscles. Diagnosed by x-rays or CT of the joint. Treatment involves warm compresses and anti inflammatory drugs like ibuprofen or diclofenac. If the symptoms persist then please get an examination done from an ENT specialist/dentist.
Apply warm compresses on the area and take some over the counter anti-inflammatory pain killer like ibuprofen or diclofenac. Application of topical muscle relaxants will also help. Cervical spondolysis also responds to anti-inflammatory drugs and cervical collars.
It is also advisable to use a proper sized pillow for neck support while sleeping, avoid lifting heavy weights, include diets rich in calcium, vitamins to daily routine, mild exercises of the shoulder and neck if there is no pain.
