Avatar f tn My liver levels two years ago were normal. How can this happen? I have been in Diclofenac (Naproxen) medicine for 3 1/2 months as result of a foot injury. Do you think my abnormal levels could be related to this medicine? I'm so concerned.
653169 tn?1303446369 Does anyone have any experience with diclofenac? If so, does it work better than over the counter antiinflammatory drugs and does upset the stomach much?
Avatar f tn You also should communicate to your PCP that the Naproxen is not working. It works Peripherally. They should start you on diclofenac. Also ask for a transdermal compound consisting of Ketamine, NSAID, Anesthetic, Muscle relaxant if needed, and Neurolytic if needed. If I knew more about your current pain and injuries I could be more specific. If you are not on antidepressants, ask them for Tramadol with Acetaminophen, which would be much more appropriate.
Avatar m tn Hi, There are other NSAIDS other than diclofenac that can be used in the treatment of gout. These include indomethacin and naproxen. Even paracetamol (acetaminophen) can provide pain relief in a gout attack. If your father has been prescribed a medication called dutasteride for treatment of the BPH, it is possible that the diclofenac was interacting with it and leading to his problems with urination.
453731 tn?1225199508 Carry an ID card or wear a medical alert bracelet stating that you are taking Coumadin, in case of emergency. Any doctor, dentist, or emergency medical care provider who treats you should know that you are taking Coumadin. You should not take acetaminophen (Tylenol), aspirin, or NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) unless your doctor has told you to.
Avatar f tn Question. I have started taking Diclofenac 75mg x's 2 a day to try and see if a non narcotic medication may give me some relief long term with my rib pain. I have taken it for 2 weeks and at first I didn't think it was helping at all. Now I think 1 of 2 things either A) it's starting to build up in my system and is helping better or B) My ribs just happen to feel a bit better lately.
Avatar f tn Is anyone on Diclofenac? I am on it for an orthopedic condition and have been on it almost 4 weeks. It works, but am unsure how long I will be on it. As short a time as possible, I hope,...but, I was wondering....for those with arthritis (which it usually prescribed for,,).....are you on it daily? As an ongoing medication? I hope to go off it to avoid risks with prolonged usage, but up to now...it has not caused me any problems.
Avatar f tn I still have no other symptoms today and the fever is either gone or controlled with the Rx diclofenac(anti-inflammatory like naproxen). I am beginning to wonder if I might have experienced this before if it were not for the medication that I take regularly except for yesterday when I tried to see how I felt without it. Just wondering if anyone has some advice for me... Thanks for reading this long, wordy post!! Be well!
Avatar m tn on day 10....today my doctor prescribed me Naproxen for my chronic back pain. I know I could search this, but would rather ask anyone with any experience with it's use. Good idea or not to use after 10 days clean. I dont even know if it's a "mild" narcotic or not, however I believe it's similar to Aleeve. Advice? thanks in advance.
Avatar n tn i have taken diclofenac for over 20 years with no side effects i have had to come off the tablets 75mg x twice day 4 days ago as I am showing some drying of kidneys from another mediation to ensure it is that one i have come off anything whih might affect me.
Avatar m tn At the age of 33, one day I was fine, healthy etc. Went to bed and the next morning woke up with excruciating pain deep inside my r/knee area. Couldn't get out of bed or walk. That was the start of my (disease)? Went to an orthopedist. Got cortisone injection, gave me anti-inflammatories, sent me home told me to rest. Pain never went away, but it subsided a bit. Pain flared up again after about a month, ortho referred me to rheumatologist. More anit-inflammatories for a while.
Avatar m tn since this started i have had 5 courses of antibiotics (Cipro and Doxy), various anti inflammatory (naproxen, diclofenac, ibuprofen) and i have constantly been taking tramadol (up to 400mg per day). it is so bad I cannot work or even sit in a car while my partner drives me to each appointment. I am currently waiting for an MRI scan which will probably show nothing again i just find it hard to believe that the NHS can leave me like this and say there is nothing they can do.
Avatar m tn You can also google 'diclofenac and liver'. I have found an articles saying the following: Data collected by the FDA shows that diclofenac, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), has caused serious liver toxicity and liver failure in some patients.
Avatar m tn things did get better after a cpl weeks or so, then I gradually resumed activity, like once a week or so, and once things seemed back to normal I resumed regular activity...
18663 tn?1198171815 When a solution of an aminoglycoside antibiotic is used on the skin together with an aminoglycoside antibiotic used intravenously, there is a risk of an increase of the ototoxic effect, especially if the solution is used on a wound that is open or raw, or if the patient has underlying kidney damage. Neomycin is the drug that is most toxic to the structure involved in hearing, the cochlea, so it is recommended for topical use only.
Avatar m tn Once I felt better I got slightly irregular with my tablets as I have this tendency to keep off medication unless absolutely necessary. Within a day or so the pain returned. I got back on to the Diclofenac tablets and the heat rub. I couldn't sleep yesterday night due to the pain. I also noticed the pain has stretched out to the area above the knee ( I feel, all this while I have been walking a bit awkward trying to keep my knee stright and that might be spraining areas above knee).
Avatar f tn there are of course other pills that are not addicting ibuprofen (can cause stomach bleeding, aleve which if you go to a doctor they can give you naproxen in higher doses, which is the active ingredient in aleve, same with ibuprofen it can be prescribed in highrer doses, but i would check with a doctor first for sure.
