My TSH is now 32 my Free T4 is normal at 11. My TSH has always been high. My GP increased thyroxine last year to 175mcg....I ended up in hospital with tachycardia....resting pulse of 150 beats a minute. Doctos lowered thyroxine back to 150mcg daily. (Diabetes, full-blown, is defined by a fasting over 126.) After meals, I've been known to get as high as 235 if I ate something like pancakes with syrup, or chocolate cake. Normal meals usually send me to around 145 to 165, occasionally 180. A1c, without using Lantus, was slightly over 6. As you can see, none of my numbers are quite high enough to be considered worrisome, but my concern has been to keep damage to the islets of Langerhans to a minimum.

Two years I was told that I have Rotator cuff tendonitis. I was prescribed Diclofenac and it seemed to help for a short time. The pain went away for a few months, but returned. When I went back to the doctors when it started hurting again, once I told then I had tendonitis, they gave me a prescription of Diclofenac again. Beginning of the year I was given another prescription of Diclofenac, which does help, but to be honest I am fed up with just being given drugs and sent away.
I also have numbness and tingling in my arms and hands, intolerance to cold (fingers turn purple and white), memory problems. I get really cranky and sick (vertigo, upset stomach, migrane like headache and develop loss of pigment in skin) if I go out into the sun. I do get the redness on my face, but I only attribute it to sunburn, as it is only my nose and under my eyes. My ANA has been as high as 1:2500 (this came on extremely suddenly and was painfully brutal), but never lower than 1:600.
If the headaches still persist get a clinical evaluation done by your physician and also get your bloodpressure checked. Goodluck.
Hi Thanks for writing to the forum! You can try OTC analgesics like ibuprofen or diclofenac. Do you have headaches that are worst at night and in early mornings? If so then you need to get investigated for benign intracranial hypertension’ (BIH). Hypothyroidism, hypoparathyroidism, adrenal insufficiency are a few things I would recommend you get investigated for. These can precipitate BIH. A spinal tap is a must both to diagnose the condition and to treat it.
I would follow the advice you get from your doctor, but be sure to report side effects, if you get burning chest/stomach pain, tell him at once, because NSAIDs in high doses may cause ulcers. The dose required for an anti-inflammatory effect is much higher than just to relieve pain. I think you need some treatment in addition to NSAIDs. Physiotherapy, especially combined with stress management, really works.
's office to ask for diclofenac or tramadol. I was just concerned, because he has a pretty high pain tolerance, and if he says something hurts, I know from experience he's really hurting bad. So, let's see how this one will be in 2-3 weeks.
I had tapered my narcs down to ~60mgs/day total before and after I DCd the diclofenac I started increasing them again, to try to get pain relief. they didn't help anyway, and I don't want to go higher -- it was too hard to taper down in the first place. but now I am back up to ~80-100 mgs/day total OC. now my surgery has been postponed 1.5 weeks, and so I started the diclofenac again. my pain is much better, but I will have to stop it again tomorrow or, at the latest, monday.
I did PM a message to you about the recipe my doctor gave me to make up the diclofenac cream. It does help me alot with pain, mainly to get to sleep at night. I have cronic RA. It is in most of my joints - hands, fingers, wrists, elbows, shoulders, sternum, hips, knees...... you name it, it is there.

Hello, Sometimes periods can be irregular. High level of stress, cholesterol, hormonal imbalance, chain smoking, dramatic changes in your life style may be some of the common causes of you irregular periods. If this was the first episode of irregularity in the periods, then wait for the coming cycle and try lifestyle modification by reducing stress and decreasing cholesterol levels.
As always, it depends on how extensive your cirrhosis is and any bleeding and coagulation issues you have. Varices, low platelet count, INR (which measures vitamin k and other clotting factors). Remember the topical drug still has the warnings that apply to the oral form even though absorption in the blood supply is less. General warning for person with cirrhosis who take NSAIDs from the Mayo Clinic web site.
Only obs worth noting were very slightly raised temp, and high blood pressure (which I have never, ever experienced before). Taking Diclofenac + Paracetamol for the pain. Any ideas as to the cause anyone? Your input is much appreciated.
Yo may get yourself tested for Gonnorehea or Chlamidya also. But do get the HIV re-tested after 6 months also. Are you having a poor or risky sexual history? Please let me know further, so that i can answer you further.
On Tuesday night I started to feel intense cramping which I normally dont get during my period. My period is pretty regular and shouldnt be coming for little over a week. The next night the cramps returned. Im on birth control, and my boyfriend and I didnt have vaginal sex, so what could this be?
My brother-in-law has been diagnosed with gout. He has a high level of uric acid and that is the reason for the diagnosis of course the pain and swelling too. What is wierd though that doesn't seem associated with the gout from what I have read is that he will sometimes step down from a sep and his leg will just not support him and he will fall. He is 42y/o 6'3" and 270 lbs probably.
Went to bed and the next morning woke up with excruciating pain deep inside my r/knee area. Couldn't get out of bed or walk. That was the start of my (disease)? Went to an orthopedist. Got cortisone injection, gave me anti-inflammatories, sent me home told me to rest. Pain never went away, but it subsided a bit. Pain flared up again after about a month, ortho referred me to rheumatologist. More anit-inflammatories for a while.

2 Range 0.0-200.0 High RA Latex Turbid Result 19.8 Range 0.0-13.9 High Sedimentation rate - Westergren 32. (There is no range listed on there... but if Wiki isn't lying to me, my base rate should be 21? I'm a 32 year old woman.) My CBC he ran at the same time looked almost perfectly normal, only one high or low in any way was MCH, and I'm only "low" by 0.1 so I doubt that matters much? Can anyone tell me what those results really mean?
Was that right? He just prescribed 5capsule 140mg Diclofenac cholestyramine once a day. NO ANTIBIOTIC GIVEN so I was wondering. Because it was still hot / i maybe shocked, my attention was focused only the excruciating pain in my hip and left foot. After a day/two, i noticed & feel additional pains around my back, ribs,& shoulders and i just found out i've got greenish/bluish marks on them.
I'm a 22 year old female with a past history of stomach ulcers, and no other major health problems other than the one I am describing. I eat well, weigh around 120 pounds, keep reasonably active (no high impact activities) and would consider myself healthy. My lower back pain is deep in the tissue, not restricted to joints, but not restricted outside of joints either.
Results are normal except recommended to drink more water. Prescribed diclofenac 3 times a day for the next week. Referred to an internal medicine specialist. Muscle pain subsides and almost gone with diclofenac... headache increases in severity and becomes persistent. Visited the specialist on 24th... Complete Blood Tests and CT scan conducted. Turned out I had lost 4 kg since 1st Nov. Prescribed Xanax 1mg per day for 2 weeks while waiting results.
He changed her NSAID from diclofenac to Naproxen. She is still anaemic (9.2) and her ESR is still high (140). He said Sulfasalazine generally takes 3 months to act hence we will have to wait for another 1 month. Then he also suggested her to take Steroid shots in her knee and elbow. She is not at all willing to take that as she is afraid that her body might get used to this and will be life long dependant on it. She is also afrad about the side effects.
