Hi there, for me it started when i lose my voice (not competely) but no pain in the throat area. then area around my left jaw joint area (below the ear) starts to feel uncomfortable especially every time i moved my jaw or open my mouth wide to eat something. i dont have toothache etc. then i start to have running nose and nose block. i went to see a GP, he say there is slight infection in the ear and nose. i was on medication for 6 days.
so it supposed to be good for everything from arthritis to Gout. I take it for pain from a permanent rib injury. It looks like we are about the same age do you mind me asking what you are taking it for? And you are right sometimes they are not very good about telling us that we should not expect results right away and it may take a few weeks for certain meds to work well.
Let me know how you do. I am doing well so far but like I said it took a couple of weeks.
Is anyone on Diclofenac? I am on it for an orthopedic condition and have been on it almost 4 weeks. It works, but am unsure how long I will be on it. As short a time as possible, I hope,...but, I was wondering....for those with arthritis (which it usually prescribed for,,).....are you on it daily? As an ongoing medication? I hope to go off it to avoid risks with prolonged usage,but up to now...it has not caused me any problems.
i have taken diclofenac for over 20 years with no side effects i have had to come off the tablets 75mg x twice day 4 days ago as I am showing some drying of kidneys from another mediation to ensure it is that one i have come off anything whih might affect me.
im on 400 mg tegretol 7 pills per day...im currently suffering from a bad toothache thats making my ear hurt so badly...i also take 10mg ocxycodone for my back pain.. can tegretol help stop this toothache my ear pain??

I would like to know what other pain killers are available for osteoarthritis. I have been on diclofenac for months for osteoarthritis of the knee and degenerative disk disease. I have tried to stop it several time due to concerns that I may get a GI bleed, have a stroke.... but this seems to be the only medication I have found that helps.
For the past five years I have worked on my feet for most of the day and since then have always experienced a lot of pain in my legs and wrist. A friend of mind suggested that I use arthrotec for the pain as it has helped her.
I am 32 years old and am on a birth control pill.
Any thoughts on the safety of this idea?
I had an allergic reaction to (apparently) a NSAID. I've taken a lot NSAID's all my life for different reasons. I also have a long history of allergies in my life (rhinitis, latex, dog and cat hair, contact and atopic dermatitis) and my grandmother was allergic to basically 90% of all drugs.
I've found that ibuprofen + codeine to be okay for toothache as a stop-gap. Having had lower esophageal sphincter spasms so bad that it's been an ambulance trip to ER, I'd rate toothache at somewhat annoying by comparison, and a really shocking tension headache somewhere in between. And that's not to belittle anyone with a toothache - it's the waiting, waiting, waiting to get in to see the dentist, oh I hate that part too!
I've had a horrible toothache for the past few days...and now on the same side I'm having an earache...is the toothache causing the earache or is the earache causing the toothache and what does all of this mean...when I take Advil, the pain goes away temporarily...does this mean I have an infection? Could it be wisdom teeth?
The FDA just announced that dicoflenac gel (brand name Voltaren Gel) often prescribed for arthritis pain is linked to severe liver damage and it can happen within the first month of use
According to the FDA, this topical gel has been reported to cause liver necrosis (death of liver cells), jaundice, and liver failure some cases of which have required liver transplant and some that have been fatal!
Despite these horrible side effects, dicoflenac gel remains on the market.
Im 34weeks and I have very painful toothache I have tried all kinds of things. It it be safe to take a pain killer now?
I have suffered with BRP for many years and tried all the remedies mentioned in the comments. Some offer limited relief but there is no cure. I also suffer with chronic back pain for which I use a topical pain cream. My arms were itching so badly one day that I smeared the pain cream all over my arms. The itching stopped; of course it came back but I just added more cream.
The BRP is Maddening...but the pain cream helps.
I decided to take vivitrol to get off alcohol and all of a sudden Iv'e had toothache everyday. Iv'e had one partial tooth pulled where the dentist thought the toothache was coming from and the toothache came back a couple days later so I went back to the dentist and he found a dead tooth next to where he pulled the partial with no sign of abscess but said it might be to small to see so he pulled that one.
Iv'e had tmj for a few years, have a night guard which has worked fine, I had bone spur surgery on my right shoulder on november 5th, 2009, started having problems with my front tooth it felt like I had a cavity between my two teeth, went to dentist he took xrays said I had abcessed tooth, he said I needed root canal so I did, he opened it up the tooth was empty no infection, so I didnt need antibiotics. went back 2 weeks later to finish root canal.
