diclofenac for pain

so it supposed to be good for everything from arthritis to Gout. I take it for pain from a permanent rib injury. It looks like we are about the same age do you mind me asking what you are taking it for? And you are right sometimes they are not very good about telling us that we should not expect results right away and it may take a few weeks for certain meds to work well. Let me know how you do. I am doing well so far but like I said it took a couple of weeks.

I took it for inflammation in my foot. I have a calcification in my acheles tendon. I took an Essential Enzyme with it and had no stomach upset. You can get this at a health food store either online or in your neighborhood. I do know this prescription should not be taken for more than a month or so according to my doctor. So my doc just prescribed Voltaren topical. It's the same thing as diclofenac but topical so you are getting less than 1% of it in your body so it's much safer.

I have a muscle pain on my shoulder that it doesn't let me sleep. It hurts no matter how I lie to sleep. I have taken some pills that are not strong enough to take the pain away. I think I need the strong stuff like diclofenac and B12 and b6. There is a pills called OKA B that I use to take when having muscle pain and it took pains away. But I've heard that diclofenac is not good to take during tx. Has anyone taken diclofenac during tx or is it too bad for the liver.

I would like to know what other pain killers are available for osteoarthritis. I have been on diclofenac for months for osteoarthritis of the knee and degenerative disk disease. I have tried to stop it several time due to concerns that I may get a GI bleed, have a stroke.... but this seems to be the only medication I have found that helps.

i have taken diclofenac for over 20 years with no side effects i have had to come off the tablets 75mg x twice day 4 days ago as I am showing some drying of kidneys from another mediation to ensure it is that one i have come off anything whih might affect me.

The FDA just announced that dicoflenac gel (brand name Voltaren Gel) often prescribed for arthritis pain is linked to severe liver damage and it can happen within the first month of use According to the FDA, this topical gel has been reported to cause liver necrosis (death of liver cells), jaundice, and liver failure some cases of which have required liver transplant and some that have been fatal! Despite these horrible side effects, dicoflenac gel remains on the market.

Some offer limited relief but there is no cure. I also suffer with chronic back pain for which I use a topical pain cream. My arms were itching so badly one day that I smeared the pain cream all over my arms. The itching stopped; of course it came back but I just added more cream. The BRP is Maddening...but the pain cream helps.

I had an allergic reaction to (apparently) a NSAID. I've taken a lot NSAID's all my life for different reasons. I also have a long history of allergies in my life (rhinitis, latex, dog and cat hair, contact and atopic dermatitis) and my grandmother was allergic to basically 90% of all drugs.

The Diclofenac (anti-inflammatory) has taken the pain away :)

Hi folks! Have any of you used Diclofenac or Voltarin Gel for relief from general pain on thighs, etc.(and other large areas ... LOL? What was your experience? Did it actually relieve any of your pain? I've used the tablet form, but it made me sick to my stomach. Is this likely to do the same? Thanks for your help.

few days back she get up for something n get started with bachache...pain is of severe and of burning type...she feel pain in muscles all over the back...on inspiration pain increases...she cant tolerate to sleep pn foam, pain in increased by walking n in sitting position....the strange thing is that pain is not increased on deep palpation....pain is releived in lying position on hard surface or by heat sponging.....she has also some stomach problem so cant use heavy medicines...

well...not sure if u r addicted to valium...not a good med for sleep tho..lots out there safer than benzos for sleep....ask them about it/ur doctor i mean sounds like u have done a wonderful job tapering down on the morphine...the med u mentioned is an anti-inflamatory....and can help pain...other things can help like muscle relaxers, nerve inhibitors like neurontin...have u tried yoga? or chirporactic....perhaps this surgery u speak of will do wonders...

You can apply ice packs and also massage diclofenac gel on the area of pain and you can also consider some diclofenac sprays for pain relief. As you are seeing an orthopedician and going perfectly the right way, follow that properly and have patience and do your physical therapy properly and regularly. Do not exert your affected shoulder with physical activity or by lifting of heavy weights. Take care!

since nov 2010 i have been in and out of hospital 3 times for the same symptoms very painful swollen testecalls each time given ciprofloxacin 500mg tablets,diclofenac sodium 50mg, for six weeks also told to go to st marys hosp to be checked for std have done so and am please to say all clear. been back to my dr for follow on check only to be given more diclofenac to take for another six weeks WHY?.

I am sorry I am not helpful with the GERD issue. I do have IBS though. I glad that some other community members are beginning to chime in. :) I do however have a very bad right shoulder and had surgery a year and a half ago, so I know exactly how you feel at least with the shoulder issue. I use ice on it to fall asleep some nights and that helps. I also take an NSAID, but I am guessing you can't take those either with your stomach issues? Hrmmmm.....

ve gone through 4 or 5 different painkillers and by now they dont work that well even after stepping up the dose to 500mg. it reduces the pain for a couple of hours then the pain is back, and i cant take another tablet so soon after either. the only thing that has worked so far is the diclofenac suppositories i was prescribed once when i was in Italy and had really bad cramps. it works like a charm and is more reliable than anything i've taken so far.

6 months ago I started taking diclofenac (an NSAID) and apparantly it works REALLY WELL for pain b/c I am supposed to stop taking it 7-10 days before surgery b/c of bleeding issues. I stopped it last week and OMG I can't believe how bad my pain became. I could not even walk, could not get comfortable in bed to sleep, etc etc etc. I had tapered my narcs down to ~60mgs/day total before and after I DCd the diclofenac I started increasing them again, to try to get pain relief.

Hi, cause could be pulmonary congestion, pleuritis, cervical spondylosis leading to myopathy. Try anti inflammatory drugs like ibuprofen, diclofenac for 6 days along with hot compression. If no relief is seen, get chest and cervical spine X ray done. Topical counterirritants may be helpful. In case, spondylosis is seen on X ray, additionaly physiotherapy along with pain killers will be helpful.

Hi, in that case try topical counterirritants, anti inflammatory drug like diclofenac and hot compressions for a week or so. Loss of muscle strength is usually associated with neuropathy leading to myopathy.

While falling the left foot got twisted and on x-ray,no crack on the bones.But still now while standing for 30min or more, i do feel severe pain near the left side of the foot.Applying relief gel daily.Will be there permenant cure?

Hi, in case you are not satisfied with X ray findings, go for CT but what seem to me intercoastal muscle injury or soft tissue injury causing inflammation or contusion, could be associated with nerve injury too. Pneumothorax is remote possibilty, X rays show up puemothorax. Please keep on taking pain killers like diclofenac, tramadol etc, try rib belt also as immobility of ribs due to rib belt will hasten recovery.

Monday I wen to the doctor cause I was breeding bad an she told me to take a blood pregnancy test right a way I went and my results came back negative. So she told me to take diclofenac for 3days and microgynon tablets for 3months and today makes two days I was breeding for an it stop.
