Avatar f tn I had an allergic reaction to (apparently) a NSAID. I've taken a lot NSAID's all my life for different reasons. I also have a long history of allergies in my life (rhinitis, latex, dog and cat hair, contact and atopic dermatitis) and my grandmother was allergic to basically 90% of all drugs.
Avatar m tn This is a varicocele surgery on his testicles. He had a high fever a few hours ago. I injected diclofenac 75mg in his muscle due to his request. After that, I read about something like "Do not take diclofenac at least 7 days before a surgery". This is about the risk of bleeding, right? So, if his surgeon say that it will be ok, can we trust him? I'm freaking out. Please tell me what should I do. Thanks a lot.
Avatar f tn so it supposed to be good for everything from arthritis to Gout. I take it for pain from a permanent rib injury. It looks like we are about the same age do you mind me asking what you are taking it for? And you are right sometimes they are not very good about telling us that we should not expect results right away and it may take a few weeks for certain meds to work well. Let me know how you do. I am doing well so far but like I said it took a couple of weeks.
Avatar f tn Is anyone on Diclofenac? I am on it for an orthopedic condition and have been on it almost 4 weeks. It works, but am unsure how long I will be on it. As short a time as possible, I hope,...but, I was wondering....for those with arthritis (which it usually prescribed for,,).....are you on it daily? As an ongoing medication? I hope to go off it to avoid risks with prolonged usage, but up to now...it has not caused me any problems.
653169 tn?1303446369 Thanks for info. I also am intolerant of almost all NSAIDS, but did get away with taking diclofenac last winter for a couple of months so I'll probably just go back on it for as long as my stomach can handle it. I have arthritis and fibromyalgia both also. Do you know if fibromyalgia can deform joints like arthritis does? Fibromyalgia is a fairly new diagnoses for me. MY DR. wants me on Savella for it, but I've tried to take it twice and couldn't handle the side effects!

Avatar n tn I would like to know what other pain killers are available for osteoarthritis. I have been on diclofenac for months for osteoarthritis of the knee and degenerative disk disease. I have tried to stop it several time due to concerns that I may get a GI bleed, have a stroke.... but this seems to be the only medication I have found that helps.
Avatar f tn For the past five years I have worked on my feet for most of the day and since then have always experienced a lot of pain in my legs and wrist. A friend of mind suggested that I use arthrotec for the pain as it has helped her. I am 32 years old and am on a birth control pill. Any thoughts on the safety of this idea?
Avatar f tn I have been having pain behind my right ear on opening my mouth fully for about 2 weeks now. I do not see any redness or swelling surrounding the jaw or ear, the pain seems to be internal. I have no problem with my teeth or gums either. When I try to open my mouth fully, the pain is very severe and also, I have headache, the pain is near the eyebrow and behind my neck. I have on and off fever and chills and also nauseousness and dizziness sometimes.
Avatar m tn There appears to be an infection as evidenced by the fever, and there is a respiratory disorder. Plueral effusion is excessive fluids in the lungs. That can be heart related; if the heart is not strong enough to pump a normal amount of blood into circulation received from the lungs, the blood backs up in the lungs and fluids leak into the tissue. If there is inflammation cortidcosterois would be appropriate.

Avatar f tn I was put on antibiotics for a week on day 4 and booked in for an ultra sound. I was also given diclofenac to help with the pain. Avo upper data later the pain did not get better. I went back to the doctors and they weren't sure it was a kidney stone. Occasionally pain worsened on some days. Was prescribed codeine for when I needed it. I continued having pain and was signed off work. I only had fever on day 2. Had my ultrasound and nothing was found: no stones, no cysts or swelling.
Avatar f tn I am 38 and just recently had a PVH. I have been feeling sick for about six days. I have a low grade temp ranging from 99.4 to 100.6. I feel nauseous most of the time and specially after eating. I become very fatigued and find it hard to concentrate and hard to stay awake. I thought that maybe I was dehydrated and began drinking an excess amount of water (four to five 24 oz bottles of water per day) but not feeling any better. Not sure if you have any ideas of what it could be.
Avatar m tn t dissipated and i went to a local orthopedist, who took an xray, said theres no bone damage, and prescribed diclofenac. the same day, in fact right as i was leaving his office, i started feeling nauseous, so i stopped taking diclofenac. it was barely noticeable in the beginning, but would get worse everyday, appetite disappearing. first time i went to my family doctor i was told it probably is food poisoning because there was no fever. standard blood test came back normal.
Avatar m tn Hi, I am a 32 years old male and I have been having persistent headache and tinnitus for the past 1 month. Before this on October 2010, I was diagnosed with depression and was prescribed fluvoxamine and risperidone but I have stopped since December last year (still under session though). In January 2011 I suddenly had a 4 day fever and when it finally goes away, I had rash all over my body that is red but does not itch much.
Avatar m tn The FDA just announced that dicoflenac gel (brand name Voltaren Gel) often prescribed for arthritis pain is linked to severe liver damage and it can happen within the first month of use According to the FDA, this topical gel has been reported to cause liver necrosis (death of liver cells), jaundice, and liver failure some cases of which have required liver transplant and some that have been fatal! Despite these horrible side effects, dicoflenac gel remains on the market.
Avatar f tn I have suffered with BRP for many years and tried all the remedies mentioned in the comments. Some offer limited relief but there is no cure. I also suffer with chronic back pain for which I use a topical pain cream. My arms were itching so badly one day that I smeared the pain cream all over my arms. The itching stopped; of course it came back but I just added more cream. The BRP is Maddening...but the pain cream helps.
