I'm a 38 year old male. When I was 17, I had a fracture on my left elbow from a fall. I had problems with the elbow in terms of mobility and pain for a couple of years, but from when I was about 20 until just recently it has been fine, apart from cracking noises now and then when I stretched it out. During these years I have been working out - push-ups, arm curls etc.
Last summer (2017) I started with pull-ups and chin-ups and in late August I started to notice pain in the elbow.
No I have not had an MRI. I have had an ultrasound (to check and see if it was bursitis and to guide the cortisone shot), and i'm being sent for a bone scan (not sure why), but no MRI. When i meet with my doctor about the bone scan, I will ask about getting an MRI.

Pain flared up again after about a month, ortho referred me to rheumatologist. More anit-inflammatories for a while. Pain disappeared for a bit but reappeared in the exact same area but the OPPOSITE knee.
Same deal, more cortisone shots,etc. And just like that, pain has come and gone moving around different joints in my body. R/ elbow then L/elbow, hand, wrist, shoulder, toes. At the present time, I'm 41 and still in pain, still seeing rheumatologist. Diagnosed with RA. (have seen 4 drs.
so it supposed to be good for everything from arthritis to Gout. I take it for pain from a permanent rib injury. It looks like we are about the same age do you mind me asking what you are taking it for? And you are right sometimes they are not very good about telling us that we should not expect results right away and it may take a few weeks for certain meds to work well.
Let me know how you do. I am doing well so far but like I said it took a couple of weeks.
Is anyone on Diclofenac? I am on it for an orthopedic condition and have been on it almost 4 weeks. It works, but am unsure how long I will be on it. As short a time as possible, I hope,...but, I was wondering....for those with arthritis (which it usually prescribed for,,).....are you on it daily? As an ongoing medication? I hope to go off it to avoid risks with prolonged usage,but up to now...it has not caused me any problems.
i have taken diclofenac for over 20 years with no side effects i have had to come off the tablets 75mg x twice day 4 days ago as I am showing some drying of kidneys from another mediation to ensure it is that one i have come off anything whih might affect me.
hi Punkie..........thats a good question and I have the same pain from the buttocks to the hip and radiating to the thigh and down my legs..worse on left side........I have 2 problems and this pain could be caused by either one doctor says one thing the other says different so gets very confusing.
1. it very well could be caused by the bursitis in our hips, although from what I understand that pain should only radiate as far as the thighs and not necessarily down the whole leg.

since nov 2010 i have been in and out of hospital 3 times for the same symptoms very painful swollen testecalls each time given ciprofloxacin 500mg tablets,diclofenac sodium 50mg, for six weeks also told to go to st marys hosp to be checked for std have done so and am please to say all clear. been back to my dr for follow on check only to be given more diclofenac to take for another six weeks WHY?.
I would like to know what other pain killers are available for osteoarthritis. I have been on diclofenac for months for osteoarthritis of the knee and degenerative disk disease. I have tried to stop it several time due to concerns that I may get a GI bleed, have a stroke.... but this seems to be the only medication I have found that helps.
For the past five years I have worked on my feet for most of the day and since then have always experienced a lot of pain in my legs and wrist. A friend of mind suggested that I use arthrotec for the pain as it has helped her.
I am 32 years old and am on a birth control pill.
Any thoughts on the safety of this idea?
I went to my medical dr who sent me for an x-ray. Nothing is fractured in my knee, and she wants me to see an orthopedic doctor, for further evaluation and possible MRI. I am going to call tomorrow for an appointment. The only problem, tomorrow is Friday and I am in PAIN!! The only releif I get in applying ice. There was no recent trama to my knee. I think it is just from wear and tear of playing sports and dancing when I was a kid (I'm now 32).
I had an allergic reaction to (apparently) a NSAID. I've taken a lot NSAID's all my life for different reasons. I also have a long history of allergies in my life (rhinitis, latex, dog and cat hair, contact and atopic dermatitis) and my grandmother was allergic to basically 90% of all drugs.
I was diagnosed with bursitis a few months ago ,its so painful can't sleep on my right side got a cortisone shot and that helped a Lil bit.now I turned 42 in may this year ,I swear the next I felt this horrible slight burning pain in both my arms that I feel in my shoulders and goes all the way to my hands.I'm so worried that this has something to do with bursitis, or thar my bursitis was misdiagnosed and it's arthritis.

I am an athlete and have been taking it easy for months due to my hip bursitis. I am eager to get back to working out as this injury has taken a toll on my sports performance, however my hip just refuses to heal. I have taken tons of advil, stayed off my feet as much as possible, and avoided exercises that aggravate my hip, but nothing is really making a difference. How do I find an effective way to heal my hip for good?
I have had fibromyalgia for 15 years and hip bursitis for 5 years. the more research I do the more I see how related they are. I am to the point after various therapies to consider using a walker at 55 years old. It is difficult for me to walk and to climb stairs. I use to be very active. Is there any research indicating why these two are so synonymous?
