However, even in large systematic reviews, clinically significant outcomes, such as hospitalization or death, were rare. NSAIDs do carry some risk in persons with impaired hepatic function.
Avatar f tn Is anyone on Diclofenac? I am on it for an orthopedic condition and have been on it almost 4 weeks. It works, but am unsure how long I will be on it. As short a time as possible, I hope,...but, I was wondering....for those with arthritis (which it usually prescribed for,,).....are you on it daily? As an ongoing medication? I hope to go off it to avoid risks with prolonged usage, but up to now...it has not caused me any problems.

1364139 tn?1280791344 ) I put up to two patches on at a time on the areas of my back or neck that really hurt and the patches are replaced every 12 hours. It is a NSAID patch, but I would much rather use a topical patch than take ibuprofin because of past stomach issues. I'm not sure how well these are working on me because I'm on so many different medicines, but I figure I'll try it and it can't hurt, ya know. Yes, my doctor did give me the drill about the patch.

Avatar m tn Some anti-inflammatory medicines (like diclofenac or ibuprofen) will help to reduce the swelling. Cleaning with some anti-septic solution and anti-biotic course under general physician’s guidance will lessen the symptoms. Till then, topical antibiotics such as mupirocin or neomycin containing ointment are also useful. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
Avatar f tn Hi, cause could be pulmonary congestion, pleuritis, cervical spondylosis leading to myopathy. Try anti inflammatory drugs like ibuprofen, diclofenac for 6 days along with hot compression. If no relief is seen, get chest and cervical spine X ray done. Topical counterirritants may be helpful. In case, spondylosis is seen on X ray, additionaly physiotherapy along with pain killers will be helpful.
Avatar f tn Don't be so hard on yourself - I too have chronic back pain - I'm trying a lot of different things - right now I'm using a patch that just came out call Flector. It's a topical antiinflammatory (Diclofenac) that is absorbed into the area, not into the system and I can't take them orally. I've also tried acupuncture which worked for a while. Hang in there - do what you need to do to have a productive life.
Avatar n tn My PCP currently has me on a short (1 week) oral steroid cycle (methylprednisolone 4mg) alongside topical anti-inflammatory gel (diclofenac) to reduce the swelling and reevaluate later but, if inflammation returns post-cycle, a cortisone injection into that tendon is apparently the next option.

Avatar m tn The swelling went down and my foreskin began to produce this whitish patch on my foreskin. When i applied the topical antifungal and allowed the foreskin to cover the head overnight, and the next morning when i pull the foreskin back, i have quite a bit of "yeast' or "smegma" covering the white patch. This "whitish" stuff just easily peels right off.
Avatar f tn Question. I have started taking Diclofenac 75mg x's 2 a day to try and see if a non narcotic medication may give me some relief long term with my rib pain. I have taken it for 2 weeks and at first I didn't think it was helping at all. Now I think 1 of 2 things either A) it's starting to build up in my system and is helping better or B) My ribs just happen to feel a bit better lately.
