Question. I have started taking Diclofenac 75mg x's 2 a day to try and see if a non narcotic medication may give me some relief long term with my rib pain. I have taken it for 2 weeks and at first I didn't think it was helping at all. Now I think 1 of 2 things either A) it's starting to build up in my system and is helping better or B) My ribs just happen to feel a bit better lately.
Yes, I do use this medication, however my RA doc has me make it up into a cream and use it topically instead of swallowing them and risking stomach and intestinal damage. Diclofenac is a rather old, but good good antinflamatory NSAID medication that really can ruin your stomach which is why they don't prescribe it much anymore.
I know it may sound strange but it works really well.
i have taken diclofenac for over 20 years with no side effects i have had to come off the tablets 75mg x twice day 4 days ago as I am showing some drying of kidneys from another mediation to ensure it is that one i have come off anything whih might affect me.
I tested HIV negative by RNA and AB/AG test at 12 days and again at 30 days. I have a dull pain (like something pulling) at the lower abdomen right above the penis. It sometimes feels like radiating to the testicle but the testicle itself doesn't pain upon touch. The pain is very dull and comes for a few minutes and then goes away. This pain came nearly 2 weeks post exposure and then went away. Again now I am feeling the same sensation since last couple of days. i am really scared.
I think I need the strong stuff like diclofenac and B12 and b6. There is a pills called OKA B that I use to take when having muscle pain and it took pains away. But I've heard that diclofenac is not good to take during tx. Has anyone taken diclofenac during tx or is it too bad for the liver.

Though some information charts say that it should be used with caution in patients with Diabetes,it refers to underlying conditions as renal failure, hepatic impairment,IBS,stroke,clotting problems,asthma, allergies, CD/colitis,HTN,smoking,High LDL/HDL etc are present in your history.

s inflamed tendons and prescribed Diclofenac soldium XR, an anti-inflammatory, twice a day. Wondering if this drug is safe for him to take given hepatitis and Cirrhosis. He has a call back into the PCP to double check before taking it, and I have a call in to his hepatologist to double check before taking it.
While waiting for calls back from PCP or hepatologist, wondering if anyone on this forum may know the answer?

Normally, blood thinners are also not used with Nsaids. So, speak with your doctor, of course, but would advise not to use these together based on the provided information.

There may be reasons why, for you, she is suspecting the Diclofenac and not the other. Give her a call and ask. Let us know what happens.
I'm glad you're feeling better though - it must have all been pretty scary. I have allergies to some meds, but it's all skin reactions, not breathing stuff. I imagine that's terrifying.
I have red/brown freckles on my lower legs and ankles. Have been on diclofenac potassium for a year for a torn meniscus. Could that have caused those spots?
Diclofenac is not an opiate and I have not seen anything indicating that it is addictive. This particular preparation is enteric coated, so it helps against stomach upset. It is part of the NSAID drug class and is an anti inflammatory. It is stronger than Aleive or Advil, so requires a prescription.
The FDA just announced that dicoflenac gel (brand name Voltaren Gel) often prescribed for arthritis pain is linked to severe liver damage and it can happen within the first month of use
According to the FDA, this topical gel has been reported to cause liver necrosis (death of liver cells), jaundice, and liver failure some cases of which have required liver transplant and some that have been fatal!
Despite these horrible side effects, dicoflenac gel remains on the market.
t under a blanket. I noticed last night that his nose is a bit stuffed and he definitely has diarrhea. It makes me nervous that he doesn't have a fever, but he is sick. He is a teacher in California so I know he can catch something there, but what? He never takes time off of work so staying home from work the last two days is definitely sending up a red flag that he is sick...what should we do? He isn't taking anything - he was taking migraine medicine.
Within about an hour, I began to ache less, and the chills had begun to subside. The combination of the Rx NSAID and the acetaminophen finally began to overpower the fever and I felt I could tolerate the rest of the shift.
The mystery comes in because I had no other symptoms besides the fever...no cold symptoms, no nausea/vomiting/diarrhea...NOTHING. Just an acute onset fever that was finally controlled with medication, but I have no reason for why I experienced it!!
This is a varicocele surgery on his testicles. He had a high fever a few hours ago. I injected diclofenac 75mg in his muscle due to his request. After that, I read about something like "Do not take diclofenac at least 7 days before a surgery". This is about the risk of bleeding, right? the following day fever started, i had no appetite at all, and i was getting heavy night sweats and one night i was restless and fainted. i had emt over and their conclusion was stomach flu and malnourishment/dehydration. i went back to my doctor the following morning, and he pretty much said the same and prescribed substances with electrolytes. eventually i got a lot better and returned to work. left hip was still hurting on and off, but i never got to follow up since i was completely sick.
Monday I wen to the doctor cause I was breeding bad an she told me to take a blood pregnancy test right a way I went and my results came back negative. So she told me to take diclofenac for 3days and microgynon tablets for 3months and today makes two days I was breeding for an it stop.
