653169 tn?1303446369 I tried Mobic and Nabumatone and had problems with upset stomach and headache. In addition to Fibromyalgia I also have arthritis in my spine and shoulder, so I take it for that and I can't live without it. Ibuprofen and Naproxen doesn't even touch the inflammation and pain.
Avatar f tn Yes, I do use this medication, however my RA doc has me make it up into a cream and use it topically instead of swallowing them and risking stomach and intestinal damage. Diclofenac is a rather old, but good good antinflamatory NSAID medication that really can ruin your stomach which is why they don't prescribe it much anymore. I know it may sound strange but it works really well.
Avatar f tn Question. I have started taking Diclofenac 75mg x's 2 a day to try and see if a non narcotic medication may give me some relief long term with my rib pain. I have taken it for 2 weeks and at first I didn't think it was helping at all. Now I think 1 of 2 things either A) it's starting to build up in my system and is helping better or B) My ribs just happen to feel a bit better lately.
Avatar n tn i have taken diclofenac for over 20 years with no side effects i have had to come off the tablets 75mg x twice day 4 days ago as I am showing some drying of kidneys from another mediation to ensure it is that one i have come off anything whih might affect me.
1810386 tn?1405549577 Amitriptyline and Tramadol is horible interaction leading to Serotonine Syndrome. Had it once, before surgery. any SSRI is evil with Tramal. brrrrrrr.
Avatar m tn I think I need the strong stuff like diclofenac and B12 and b6. There is a pills called OKA B that I use to take when having muscle pain and it took pains away. But I've heard that diclofenac is not good to take during tx. Has anyone taken diclofenac during tx or is it too bad for the liver.
Avatar f tn A The words acetaminophen (used in the United States, Canada, Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, and Iran and paracetamol (used elsewhere) both come from a chemical name for the compound: para-acetylaminophenol and para-acetylaminophenol. In some contexts, it is simply abbreviated as APAP, for acetyl-para-aminophenol.
1204528 tn?1588786333 You are correct. The usual interactions suggest a decrease in levels of the other drugs taken with carbamazepine. Try searching for 'carbamazepine metabolism' and 'diclofenac metabolism'. It shows that both meds are metabolized by CYP3A4. Diclofenac may decrease levels of CYPA4 (search 'diclofenac inactivation CYP3A4); this could potentially lead to increased levels of carbamazepine.
Avatar n tn The IRBB does not usually cause chest pain by itself, but can be seen in the setting of a heart attack by infarcting part of the right bundle. The amitriptyline does have anticholinergic effects and can cause coronary ischemia in patients following heart attacks. How sure are you that the pain you had was secondary to esophageal spasm and not heart disease?
Avatar n tn The effects of cholestyramine and colestipol on the absorption of diclofenac in man.Colestipol produces a similar but smaller effect. Though some information charts say that it should be used with caution in patients with Diabetes,it refers to underlying conditions as renal failure, hepatic impairment,IBS,stroke, clotting problems, asthma, allergies, CD/colitis,HTN,smoking,High LDL/HDL etc are present in your history. So donot worry about anything.
Avatar f tn s inflamed tendons and prescribed Diclofenac soldium XR, an anti-inflammatory, twice a day. Wondering if this drug is safe for him to take given hepatitis and Cirrhosis. He has a call back into the PCP to double check before taking it, and I have a call in to his hepatologist to double check before taking it. While waiting for calls back from PCP or hepatologist, wondering if anyone on this forum may know the answer?
Avatar n tn //www.drugs.com/voltaren-gel.html. Diclofenac is voltaren and the gel contains the Nsaid. This information states clearly that aspirin should not be used at the same time. Normally, blood thinners are also not used with Nsaids. So, speak with your doctor, of course, but would advise not to use these together based on the provided information.
Avatar f tn I use to take amitriptyline and have some pharmacy background. I suggest no drinking with amitriptyline to be on the safe side. Amitriptyline plus alcohol could equal respiratory depression, which means possible passing out or in fatal cases even death. It's just not worth the possible complication even if it is only a 0.10% chance of happening.
1168317 tn?1330262837 It was recommended that I try amitriptyline several years ago for pain, especially headaches. I researched the drug and was concerned about some of the side effects, especially with a long commute to work. I spoke with my sister who had been prescribed this medication. Her experience included personality changes and she was very much against the medication, especially because it had a significant effect on her job functioning.
175688 tn?1297556647 Hey Danielle, congrats on ten days!!! that is such a great **** you will live such a better life in everyway possible. Amitriptyline is an old school what they call third generation anti-depressant. For anti-depressant there are few classes of them, there are SSRI's which are the post popular that include Paxil, Prozac,Celexa,Effexor, Zoloft, Lexapro etc.
Avatar f tn t think I have that. She prescribed me amitriptyline 25mg for pain and sleep. I finally broke down last night and took a half a 25mg pill. I'm terrified of taking another pill and just want to be clean. Anyway it helped with sleep and frequency. I get up several times some nights. Last night only once it was great. Sorry for the rambling. I hate the side effect of this pill. I was so spacey all morning. Does anyone here have any experience with this pill?
Avatar m tn The doctor prescribed amitriptyline about two weeks ago...She has had no relief from the pain and cannot stay awake, has dry mouth and her vision is blurry. Can she stop taking the medication cold turkey (since she has only been on it for two weeks) and how long does it usually take to get any pain relief from this medication.
1704915 tn?1357601254 t know if I really want to take 10mg in the am and 25mg at night as prescribed. I want to be awake and alert during the day so I can eat and get my walking in etc. The 10mg didn't seem to do much but at the same time that will increase the dosage for the entire day and the possible side effects. I will determine this based on how much pain I experience during the day.
1710955 tn?1309446473 Cymbalta was being tested for nerve pain for awhile now and has finally been approved for this purpose. I tried it and it did help for a few months. What else have the rest of you (forum friends) used for nerve pain?
1629986 tn?1299685955 i asked the doctor for stronger painkillers for arthritus and he gave me amitriptyline 10mg to take at night, they make no difference to pain but have made me extra anxious (i suffer from panic attacks and have been on citalapram 10mg for 7 months which have done nothing to stop panic or anxiety).
Avatar f tn m having the same problems right now -- I had a tooth pulled a few months ago and a cavity filled recently right near it over a month ago, and my whole mouth hurts and so far nobody has found a reason. But I'm already on antidepressants and a benzo for my anxiety problem and it ain't helping my teeth a bit, if you get my drift, and like you it's driving me nuts.
799181 tn?1246686673 i went to see my doc today and prescribed me amitriptyline 25mgs one at night, i was just wondering if anyone else has taken them and how they found them.
Avatar n tn I was on Amitriptyline-150mg and Topamax 100mg for at least a year for headaches. Within the last three months I was put on Lexapro 10mg and Allerx PE also for my headaches. My headaches are beginning to become under control with steroid injections and I am about to have sinus surgery. My concern is that in the past year I have gained 35lbs. I am a very active person who works out and also watches what I eat. I don't know what to do.
Avatar f tn Hi, I posted this question in the Cirrhosis forum, but I thought maybe I'd post it here too, since many members of the Hep C forum also have Cirrhosis. I have a question about an anti-inflammatory medication called Diclofenac for a person with Cirrhosis.
Avatar f tn There may be reasons why, for you, she is suspecting the Diclofenac and not the other. Give her a call and ask. Let us know what happens. I'm glad you're feeling better though - it must have all been pretty scary. I have allergies to some meds, but it's all skin reactions, not breathing stuff. I imagine that's terrifying.
681148 tn?1437661591 but Shanna707 and I were just talking about Diclofenac. I have had trouble too with a lot of NSAIDs and stomach upset and Diclofenac seems to be one I can tolerate and it really helps my shoulder pain. If that isn't an option, you could get a steroid shot? I have a couple of other tips: use a roller ball mouse for your computer so you are not moving your arm. You just move your thumb. It takes about a day or two to get used to, but it helps a lot.
