Avatar f tn Diclofenac is not an opiate and I have not seen anything indicating that it is addictive. This particular preparation is enteric coated, so it helps against stomach upset. It is part of the NSAID drug class and is an anti inflammatory. It is stronger than Aleive or Advil, so requires a prescription.
Avatar n tn My question is relating to the drugs I am on. Am I allowed to drink alcohol while I am taking this course, or do I have to abstain until I have finished the tablets? It is one tablet a day for 30 days.
Avatar f tn Question. I have started taking Diclofenac 75mg x's 2 a day to try and see if a non narcotic medication may give me some relief long term with my rib pain. I have taken it for 2 weeks and at first I didn't think it was helping at all. Now I think 1 of 2 things either A) it's starting to build up in my system and is helping better or B) My ribs just happen to feel a bit better lately.

Avatar f tn Is anyone on Diclofenac? I am on it for an orthopedic condition and have been on it almost 4 weeks. It works, but am unsure how long I will be on it. As short a time as possible, I hope,...but, I was wondering....for those with arthritis (which it usually prescribed for,,).....are you on it daily? As an ongoing medication? I hope to go off it to avoid risks with prolonged usage, but up to now...it has not caused me any problems.

Avatar n tn s often from water retention due to hormonal fluctuations. Avoiding caffeine, salt, and alcohol can help, as well as drinking lots of water. I also had sore boobs when I was pregnant, so if you're sexually active consider that possibility!
Avatar f tn I had my gp check it out, she said probably arthritis and put me on diclofenac. By March the pain turned into horrific pain attacks, lasting a few secs at a time. By the end of march i got sent home from work and was told go to a podiatrist(by my boss). The first one i went to swore i was an alcohol and red meat kind of girl and said it was gout. He sent me home with an anti inflammatory and said keep the joint warm and eat cherries. By May I was getting a 2nd opinion.
Avatar m tn Hi, There are other NSAIDS other than diclofenac that can be used in the treatment of gout. These include indomethacin and naproxen. Even paracetamol (acetaminophen) can provide pain relief in a gout attack. If your father has been prescribed a medication called dutasteride for treatment of the BPH, it is possible that the diclofenac was interacting with it and leading to his problems with urination.

Avatar n tn And please remember, that if you see multiple doctors, you should let them know all medications you take including anything over the counter such as aspirin. Here is information regarding diclofenac gel. https://www.drugs.com/voltaren-gel.html. Diclofenac is voltaren and the gel contains the Nsaid. This information states clearly that aspirin should not be used at the same time. Normally, blood thinners are also not used with Nsaids.
1094370 tn?1317134825 Other things than alcohol can cause elevated liver enzymes. Being overweight is one also having hepatitis C or A or B Since you have elevated liver enzymes until you see a doctor I would hold off on any alcohol consumption. I’ve never had my b12 tested are you taking any supplements containing B12 I would stop taking any additional b12 supplements if that is the case. Why did your doctor order these tests? Are you experiencing any symptoms related to liver disease?
Avatar m tn This is a varicocele surgery on his testicles. He had a high fever a few hours ago. I injected diclofenac 75mg in his muscle due to his request. After that, I read about something like "Do not take diclofenac at least 7 days before a surgery". This is about the risk of bleeding, right? So, if his surgeon say that it will be ok, can we trust him? I'm freaking out. Please tell me what should I do. Thanks a lot.
453731 tn?1225199508 You should not take acetaminophen (Tylenol), aspirin, or NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) unless your doctor has told you to. NSAIDs include celecoxib (Celebrex), diclofenac (Voltaren), ibuprofen (Motrin, Advil), indomethacin, naproxen (Aleve, Naprosyn), piroxicam (Feldene), and others. These medicines may affect blood clotting and could cause serious bleeding in your stomach or intestines. Avoid sudden changes in your diet. Vitamin K decreases the effects of Coumadin.
