Common Questions and Answers about Diarrhea and vomiting in early pregnancy

vomiting

Avatar f tn Thanks for using the forum. There is sperm present in pre-ejaculate. It is possible to become pregnant using the "pull out" method. However, the vomiting and diarrhea you experienced are most likely unrelated to any potential pregnancy. If you are not trying to get pregnant, I would recommend using a barrier method of protection such as a condom. If your period does not come, a home pregnancy test is most accurate one week after the first day of your missed period. Good luck.
10261762 tn?1424370602 I had a sweep done yesterday, and today I have lower back pain, vomiting, and diarrhea. I've heard these can be symptoms of early labor. No contractions, just cramps in my back and pelvic area.
5781072 tn?1399601256 I went to the doctor today and I told her I had been having diarrhea for over 24 hours and had been feeling nauseous she said if I start vomiting or the diarrhea continues into tomorrow that I will have to be put in the hospital for some fluids I'm only 29 weeks 4 days so I'm not wanting to go into labor anytime soon
Avatar n tn You need to contact your OB. Vomiting and diarrhea can cause dehydration which is bad in pregnancy. Please make sure to check in with the doctor and drink plenty of fluids to stay hydrated.
Avatar n tn t sound as lactose intolerance. Viral diarrhea (Rotavirus) is common in children younger than 5 years, and some immunity develops after that, so it would be unusual to have 4 consecutive bouts of diarrhea from the virus. What is the color and consistence of his stool? How many times a day? He is complaining (or you suspect) about school problems? Any abdominal pain, if yes, where exactly?
Avatar n tn With my last son I had diarrhea , vomiting , and pressure. Just keep monitoring the contractions. They need to be 5 min apart and not go away. Try and stay hydrated because dehydration causes false contractions and since you've been throwing up maybe that's what it is and that's why your not dilating.
Avatar f tn I am 35 weeks and have had gas all day and diarrhea and now I am have cramps in my lower stomach. Could I be in labor or no.
Avatar f tn Hi, I'm approx 8 weeks along. I have been vomiting for 24hrs and have had diarrhea too. I haven't been able to eat anything for around 36hrs without bringing it straight back up (I tried plain crackers and dry toast). Even sipping water has me vomiting within 15/20mins of doing so. Question is, should I go see a Dr or maybe there is something I can get from a chemist that can help? Or is this normal and I just need to ride it out? Getting concerned as I feel quite dehydrated...
Avatar f tn t matter what I eat and some days I eat something and it kills me and a couple days later eat the same thing and do just fine.
Avatar n tn I got diarrhoea a number of times in early pregnancy and start of second trimester. I used to eat a banana daily and around the time I took my prenatals. I usually got diarrhoea if I ate a takeout.
Avatar f tn I have a 17 year old daughter who suffers from Cyclical Vomiting Syndrome and severe anxiety and panic attacks. She takes 1 mg of Ativan twice a day if needed when she feels an episode coming on or if an episode has started. In the past 9 weeks she has taken approximately 20 ativan when she was having an episode of vomiting or panic.
1898060 tn?1336423105 Lately I have been having lots of nausea and vomiting. I was just wondering if gravol is ok to take at 37 weeks pregnant?
Avatar n tn Yesterday, after the diarrhea subsided for about a day, I began vomiting once every hour or so, and the diarrhea has resumed. Cultures were ran for the stool and they came back negative. At first, the vomiting had food in it, but after the first, all subsequent releases were a dark green liquid. All vomit produced since the first yields several ounces of this liquid (bile perhaps). What should I do?
Avatar f tn At 8 weeks I started to experience extreme morning sickness with some vomiting and diarrhea as well :( I'm currently in week 18 and It honestly didn't get any better till about 15 weeks. The doctor suggested vitamin B6 for the nausea but it didn't really help but I know there are other things they will suggest or prescribe so def check with your doctor if it's unbearable.
Avatar f tn Diarrhea is common in Pregnancy and is not something You should be over concerned about. It can be a side effect of pregnancy for quite a few people. If You're still concerned about it You can always see Your doctor but try not to stress over it. Make sure You're drinking plenty of fluids and keeping your fluid intake up and try adding more solid foods to your diet.
Avatar f tn ve lost about 10kgs in 4 months from this constant vomiting and trust me I DO NOT want to lose weight, I weigh 41kg now, which is incredibly underweight. Now I'll get to the point - I haven't had any recent attacks since early last month. But I do vomit at least once a week. (might I add I do not force myself to vomit at any stage) I found that I usually start feeling nauseous after standing for a long period of time?
Avatar f tn Early in my pregnancy I had the exact same thing - alternating diarrhea (with pretty bad stomach pains) and constipation. I am now 16 weeks and everything is fine. I hear that this can be pretty common.
11099520 tn?1420747480 I started throwing up and having diarrhea Sunday night and into Monday and I still feel like crap and working on getting food and liquid in. So far it's staying in. I got so dehydrated the Dr wanted to put me in the hospital. I have 13 days till my scheduled csec but could happen any day she dropped over 3 weeks ago and lost plug and have been dilating. Hopefully sooner than later... Lol plus I have protein in my urine for the past few visits and keeping an eye on my BP... Fun times!
613536 tn?1294238447 Just wondering if anybody had diarrhea and fatigue in early pregnancy.... If so, when did you first notice it?
Avatar n tn s like your body cleansing itself to make delivery easier. No other symptoms, no nausea, no vomiting, no fever. Just diarrhea. How long after did labor start?
Avatar f tn gallstones and pain; chronic heartburn; vomiting daily (the whole pregnancy...I lost 25lbs throughout the months I was preganant); and high blood pressure. The high blood pressure and vomiting went away shortly after the baby was born and my gallbladder was removed. Ever since, I have had chronic dairrhea and constipation. Both with flip flop, but I seem to never be regular. The heart burn continues, but is less frequent (maybe twice a week).
Avatar f tn Several years ago I had the same problem but everything went aways once my gallbladder was removed. The episodes of vomiting and diarrhea last anywhere from hours to 2 days. I have recorded what I am eating to see if it is a food allergy but only thing i have found in the past week is butter makes me sick but not other dairy products. I went to a chiroprator that gave me a questionare about health sympotms and he recommeded me having my thyroid checked.
Avatar f tn I'm 9 weeks pregnant and I've already been Diagnosed with hyper emesis gravadium and the put me on some anti nausea medicine the first one didn't work at all this second one works a little bit but I'm still not keeping much down and now I'm having diarrhea and I'm still very light headed what should i do
Avatar f tn ve read that your body sometimes experiences nausea and diarrhea close to labor time. Altho your kinda far off.

4402502 tn?1355342665 Ugh I only experienced vomiting and headaches once and I was sobbing in pain. Glad I haven't felt that again.
Avatar f tn Has anyone ever experienced their early pregnancy symptoms coming and going? Some days I feel aweful and others I don't feel anything?
Avatar f tn Diarrhea and constipation are common in pregnancy. Really try to stay hydrated. Especially having diarrhea and vomiting.
