Diaper rash on labia

Common Questions and Answers about Diaper rash on labia

rash

I have noticed that the pubic hair is having trouble growing in those red patches. I was just wondering tho if this sounds like herpes, or more like diaper rash from the pad and irritating period. I'm just concerned because of the tiny spaced out bumps I had before my period, like if that was an outbreak, even though it never hurt/itched and only last a few hours.
My newborn is now seven weeks old and about a week ago i noticed blister like spots around his diaper area like a diaper rash. The spots started off filled with a white fluid almost looking like a pimple and then once it busted just left the skin broke and looked red and irritated.
I went through the same thing. I used A & D ointment for babies and it helped stopped the bleeding. Also air it out so it has time to scab and heal. I know it sound weird but sleep with no underwear and legs open. By the second day it should stop bleeding.
Recently I shaved the jungle down under and I think I literally sliced parts of my labia minora and clitoris. The cut my labia minora is about a inch and a half long. The cut on my clitoris is much smaller, it seems to be on the hood of the clitoris and just to the lower left. How ever, its been about a week since the incident and the cuts aren't getting better. Its very painfully when I urinate or more the areas around. Is there some home treatment I can do or should I see a doctor?
After i had both my children, and had to wear them after delivery for 6 weeks, i would develope what i called a diaper rash. little red bumps all around my bottom, lips, and vaginal opening area. I went to the doc both times and was told both times it was a contact reaction more than likely from the pads and panty liners. You retain more heat when wearing them.
Doctor said that I have cervicitis when she did the colposcopy. After a few days, I noticed a couple of bumps on my outer labia (vulva)and they are itchy (size of pimple). Is this related to my hpv? Or is it possibly yeast infection due to the antibiotic that she applied during colposcopy? Or is this early symptoms of vulvar cancer? I am so worried.
A large penis pops out unexpectedly, tearing the delicate skin on your labia. Ouch! But please don't put baby wipes or diaper rash cream on your vulva! None of these are designed to be used on that delicate tissue. With rest, pain killers, warm water and loose clothes, you should heal fairly quickly; however, you might also want to call your gynecologist's office and speak to the nurse to get information about whether they can prescribe anything for you.
I often suggest (as silly as it sounds) for rashes or itchiness of any type, Penaten (diaper rash creams) help significantly with clearing up any rash, swelling and itchiness. It is designed to be gentle but more importantly it reduces moisture and relieves the rash. Vagisil will alleviate the itchiness and it is designed for that specific problem in that specific area.
I have had this problem about three or four times in my lifetime (I am now 29) and have never had any luck with my OBGYNs. They always diagnosed it as a yeast infection or Bacterial Vaginosis and have given me antibiotics or Diflucan. Which has never worked. I have been tested over and over again for every STD on the planet and they were all negative as well. So I did a little research online and tried a couple of home therapies and finally figured out one method that works!
D ointment is what you put on baby's bottoms when they have diaper rash. Just take some of that and rub it on the side(s) that is/are inflammed. Usually when I get out the bath I just put on some loose comfy cottom jogging pants with no underwear and just lay around the house. After my first bath I feel almost ten times better...no words can explain! My symptoms usually disappear completely after 3-5 days, depending on the severity of my irritation.
It is on my labia, redish, itching, raised, rash like, bleeding, constant fluid coming out of lesion with a mucus build up in a matter of seconds on going for over 2 to 3 months. My left outer labia is hard the right inner labia is not, but they both have the same symptoms. Can you help me please!!
(( Ariella got something similar around that area and it would go away if I put a little diaper rash cream on it so I doubt that ours was from yeast. I'd definitely contact her ped (which I'm sure you're gonna do tomorrow ;) Let me know how it turns out.
I developed some kind of rash on each side of the lower portion of my labia. It is red, rather raw, and very dry skin but does not itch. There are no visible bumps. I stopped using those pads and switched to a more cottony pad and applied diaper rash cream last night. Not sure if the rash has improved yet or not, will check in the morning. Does this happen to anyone else?? Is it possible that its from something other than the pad??
Googling my symptoms brought me here and I am so glad to at least have found people with the same issue!! My itching and irritation coincided with a very heavy period (changing tampons every 2 hours, which is unusual for me) and a 30 minute sex romp in a hottub/spa with my husband. I chalked it up to irritation but weeks later it's unbearable. I've come up clean for STDs, yeast, trichomoniasis and anything bacterial.

In addition, I've been going to the tanning salon for 10 minutes once a week - I don't want skin cancer but it has cleared up the eczema on my arms and stomach and I'm hoping on my labia. My gyne is actually pretty good and after performing two biopsy's says I have lichen sclerosis - complex version - I'm slightly in doubt about that because after 2 years of intense scratching, anyone's skin would be hardened.
At first the rash started to cause tremendous itching on the labia. Then it became broken skin, that is very painful whenever cream is applied or when shower water hits directly. It has also appeared under the left breast, red and itchy and I have gone to all cotton bras. I am starting to worry for fear this is more than a simple dermatitis. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
I read earlier that those(squamous cell) pre-cancerous cells can be found on your labia.... should I ask for a biopsy of my labia skin?
However, when the doctor remove my white stuff from under the clitoral hood last week it's made my down time turn into being swollen for going on 9 days now. The clitoris feels better but the labia are sensitive. I hope you're feeling better.

Ive had bad pain on one side of my labia for 3 years and no matter what kind of cream or ointment i put on it, makes it worse. I went to my family doctor and he said the area was a bit red but other than that, he couldnt see or feel anything wrong. he gave me a pap test and it came back clear of anything.
Well, the morning after, i decide to take a look at my rash and saw that it was VERY red, flesh colored and it hurt A LOT, so i began to put diaper rash oninment on it and the pain is gone, but the redness it still very much there, but it seems dry now.Well, i also noticed that i have 2 sores on each side of the labia (kind of like the tears u get from havig unlubricated sex) that sting like hell.
Do you itch or break out in hives or a rash on any other part of your body after you use it? It could be that you are allergic to it. If you're not allergic, try using things labeled "for sensitive skin" because your products might be too harsh for your skin. Hope this helps!
I am getting better at calming my fears but this morning she woke up with a red area on her left labia - it looks like a pimple. Most of the diaper rashes she gets are all over and bilateral and very noticeably a diaper rash. This area looks like a pimple or possibly a clogged pore but has not changed since this morning. I am very diligent about washing my hands.
Since yesterday I've had a large swollen bump on the labia majora..it's very painful, it hurts to walk or sit. I've been putting warm cloth on it and it seemed to help with the swelling but it's still really painful. I don't really want to go to the doctor because I just don't have the money right now, and I feel like it would be a waste if it's something that I can take care of on my own. Anyone else ever experienced this before? What can I do to ease the pain?
The allergy doc prescribed another medicine that was to also help with some eczema that appeared on her outter labia...it's a combo drug. Yes, diaper changes are BAD here too. And they do take baths, but only 1 daughter seems to be plagued with yeast. Poor kiddo.
Hi I have had a re-accurring flair up that's similar to diaper rash. and a spot that's similar to a tear on my "v". This has been going on for 3-4 years now and the doctor has no more options " I've perscribed everything I can think of" he tells me I've been tested for std's multiple times even though I'm not active. I've been on dyfluctan and other yeast treatments most of which offer no or little help.
I was worried that I passed HSV onto my kids when I delivered them. I have been diagnosed with HSV--1 by blood work, but I'm pretty sure its genital. I had a couple breakouts when i was 17, never went to the doctor and then never really had symptoms after that. When I got pregnant at 25 with my son i told my ob I suspected I had herpes but he said my symptoms didn't sound like herpes ( which were breaking out in pimple like spots all over my pelvis and buttocks.
