Diaper rash hydrocortisone cream

Common Questions and Answers about Diaper rash hydrocortisone cream

rash

Avatar n tn Try Lotrimin cream or tea tree oil. Do you have hemorrhoids? You may have constant moisture there if you have a condition like hemorrhoids. If using an antifungal cream for the full course doesn't fix it, try a diaper rash cream. I would avoid hydrocortisone.
Avatar n tn I would suggest lots of air time, and when her rash is clear, use vaseline after each change to keep the moisture off of her. Also, Sudocream is the best diaper rash cream I have used. She may need some hydrocortisone cream to treat the inflammation, but this should be used sparingly and not long term, as it can thin the skin. It's something the doctor can prescribe in addition to the yeast cream.
Avatar f tn Thank you so much. I started off using my baby's Aveeno Diaper rash cream and that stings a little at first but feels a little better soon after.Tomorrow i plan on trying Cortaid or Preparation H.
Avatar f tn t healing the skin burn because the stress was affecting my immune function. I used the Dove soap, then put on hydrocortisone cream, then the zinc oxide diaper rash cream. Ahh. The burn is subsiding now. Thanks. I wonder what you're doing now in 2015.
Avatar n tn I had measles a couple of months ago. That's gone. What happened afterwords is my groin area started showing red patches, very dry skin, then red spots on my buttocks (a few). I've had this rash for more than two months. Doesn't seem to be spreading but will not go away. I use diaper rash medicine which seem to help the redness, Also, just after the measles, my groin testical skin area chapped up bad. A crust layer grew over this area then after so many days of showering fell off.
Avatar n tn Sometimes it is a build up of heat which results in a heat rash or if you sweat a lot, the constant moisture causes the itching and rash. I have found that cortisone creams do not work, but amazingly diaper rash cream does the trick. Of course you should consult your doctor to find out for sure.
290867 tn?1333569278 I am so upset my little baby boy is only 11 days old and has the worst diaper rash. I called his peditrition ( whom of which he hasnt seen yet) and he told me to wash him down there with Leaver 2000 and use a mixture of Neosporen and vasalene and he perscribed him a cream called Nystatin 30GM. Is anyone farmiliar with that cream? I am just really skepcital about using a perscription on a newborn espically when the peditrition has not even seen him yet. Maybe I am paranoid... Any thoughts?
202436 tn?1326474333 m sorry) Mixing equal parts straight lanolin (like the nipple cream you can buy) with an antifungal cream and using it as a diaper rash cream. I just wanted to say that I tried this. DS1 was getting bad rashes from diarrhea that looked like they were ready to bubble up. I had some Nystatin/Triamcinolone cream and mixed it with some Lansinoh Lanolin cream and used it on his butt and it LITERALLY cleared up the rash completely gone between diaper changes... I'm not kidding.
676912 tn?1332812551 I have heard that if you put the diaper rash cream on baby's skin while it is still wet/moist from the cleansing cloth you are actaully sleaing in the moisture and making the rash worse. I am not sure about the powders. I use the A&D stuff. After I remove the diaper and clean with the diaper cloth, I then take a kleenex to dry his skin, then I put the cream on. If I do that at every change the rash generally doesn't last more than a day for the most part.
Avatar f tn She treated him with an anabiotic and a cream. By Sunday the rash has spread all over his body butt, ankles then there are few on his arms thighs stomach back and neck. We took him to the hospital last night and the doctor there said it was just a viral rash that had to take it's course. She said to continue the anabiotic and she also gave him a steroid to take.
Avatar f tn The surgeon said to put zinc cream (diaper rash cream) on my breast. I have been doing that for a week with little to no relief. I have itching only - no nipple discharge. The doctor says it’s not possible for me to have pagets because I do not have nipple discharge. Everything I have read about pagets mentions that it is often mis-diagnosed as dermatitis or edema. I’m scared and do not know what to do. I would appreciate any help.
Avatar f tn I actually use A&D diaper rash ointment, lol it relieves the burning.
4654179 tn?1595183520 For those already moms, whats the best diaper rash cream out there? There is so many brands are out there. I bought the Destin (spelling) and was wondering if that's was a good kind.
Avatar f tn Could just be a regular diaper rash, butif it's not going away it could be a yeast diaper rash. If regular diaper cream doesn't clear it up within a few days, talk to his doctor. You may need a special topical cream (possibly Nystatin cream) if it's a yeast diaper rash. You could try a little cornstarch to keep his bum dry and change his diaper often. Also, keep it clean and give it some time to air dry too.
Avatar f tn I am female and every once in a while I get this round, red welt around my anus that is painful. I tried to keep tabs on what I ate that day to see if anything sets if off. Usually using a diaper rash ointment on it overnight relieves it, but since it is symmetrical I don't think it is considered a rash. Could it mean more of a problem or just try it as I am.
Avatar n tn Upon further examination I realized I had a yeast infection. Purchased Monistat and used some of the cream topically on the rash. Rash became worse and spread up to top of crevice at end of lower back. Tried zinc oxide diaper cream, but rash continues to itch and be there. Is this a fungal infection I should treat with something like Lamasil?
1654177 tn?1319838494 i use a cream my doctor prescribed. it is fluocinonide 0.05%. it really works for me. also at night i take 1/2 a benadryl tablet. it relieves the itch so i can sleep. and remember LOTS of water.
Avatar m tn Try hydrocortisone cream from the pharmacy. I get red sore rashes also when I get too hot and the cream takes it away. It is not expensive and I keep some around all the time. Ask pharmacist where to find it in the aisles. I call it heat rash when I talk to pharmacist for it.
Avatar f tn it could also be the cream you use. desitin burns my daughters but so iuse A&D diaper rash cream. &also keep her diaper off for uh lil that will also help.
Avatar f tn t have the greatest hygiene, it could be the adult equivalent to diaper rash? Try some hydrocortisone cream (Cortaid, Cortizone 10) if it is rash-like at all. Hope that helps!
Avatar f tn I've been using 1% hydrocortisone cream in my vaginal area for itching/ discomfort due to aging and the area of my pubic mound where the sides meet is now red. Would a diaper rash ointment help with this?
9182722 tn?1403784024 The Vaseline is a lubricant to help keep his bottom dry to prevent more rash, the fungal/yeast creams help because many times baby will have test contributing to the rash(yes even boys) and the diaper cream helps with the rash too obviously and the cortisone helps with inflammation (don't use too much it's a steroid), I would also add you should call and confirm(quick call should be fine) with his doctor that this will be okay for your baby (I sing know your baby or any medical conditio
Avatar f tn You may need a higher dose for the rash. Hydrocortisone 1% , is this the cream that you are using? If yes, this is a low potency steroid cream. Also, do you have any history of allergies or asthma? Do you shave the area or use creams and lotions in the area?
Avatar f tn Our genital skin is very tender and it certainly is never completely smooth. If anything, apply a barrier cream like aquaphor ( or any diaper rash cream ) to help soothe and protect the skin. If the skin starts to get red or itch non-stop, be checked out to make sure you don't have jock itch ( summer sweating tends to cause it ).
Avatar f tn So I stopped shavin dwn there for a la'while because it's kinda tender & tonight I decided to shave. Anyways, I took a mirror to look dwn there ( it's jst somethin I have a habit of doin ) & I saw wht looks like a diaper rash. I have a Dr appt tmrw so I plan on askin her wht can I use but have any of you ladies experienced this & if you did, is there anythin tht you can suggest tht I can use or do for it ?
1815939 tn?1377991799 BTW , I use Desitin Diaper rash cream with 40% Zinc and works wonders. Doctor also called in a script for Anusol Suppositories, which burns like crazy, so I nixed that. Prep H works good too !
