Avatar m tn http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e55/dudnaito/footlarge.jpg i will be seeing a doctor once my insurance gets in order, but that won't be for another 2-3 weeks. i've of course taken aspirin, of course i stretch, and yes I've iced it, used creams, etc.. but it's fairly persistent. It's actually not painful at all unless I either walk around for more than 30 minutes or I jog, which is quite a lot... something that I've had to refrain from for quite awhile now.
Avatar m tn you contract the intrinsic muscles of your feet when you bend the foot back. when your muscles are not used to these movements, they go into spasms. i recommend soaking your feet in warm water and doing toe curling exercises: bend and extend your toes (like waiving bye bye).
Avatar f tn CP persons have bone growth that goes faster than muscle growth thus the curved foot etc so if you strengthen muscles they grow stronger and curved foot etc will straighten out plus walking becomes easier etc many great things .

Avatar n tn They first came in the middle of the night and woke me up with terrible pain in one of my feet, it radiated from the bottom center of my foot all the way to my ankle. It burned like fire and felt like my bones were breaking. Nothing helped. I tried standing on it with pressure, rubbing it, flexing it. The pain was unberable. I was about to wake my husband to take me to the the hospital when the pain suddenly started to become milder. This happened several more times during the night.
Avatar n tn Your anterior compartment is an area in your leg that contains the muscles that point your foot and toes toward your body. Your lateral compartment contains muscles that move your foot and ankle away from your body. When a compartment is overused the muscles will become painful. Mollyrae is correct that you should see your physician for an evaluation. In the mean time rest, elevation of your leg(s), ice or heat and a NSAID may ease your discomfort. I wish you the best.
Avatar n tn A comprehensive foot exam to assess the skin, muscles, bones, circulation, and sensation of the feet is in order. People who cannot sense pressure from a pinprick may have lost protective sensation and are at risk for developing foot sores that may not heal properly. There are other tests the doctor can run. However, the first step in treating DN is controlling your glucose level to bring them into normal range in order prevent further nerve damage.
Avatar f tn When I was at the docs at 12 weeks the top of my uterus lined with my hip bones
1558461 tn?1295392601 could simply be the muscles and ligaments of those stressed joints yelling in protest. Or causing other bones to rub together differently and thus cause joint inflammation. Have you been seen for the chronic pain in your toe? It sounds like you need to get to the root cause.
Avatar m tn Standing on one foot and balancing like this actually relaxes all of the muscles in your foot and leg, because all of the muscles are being used. You are creating and achieving muscular balance! Try to balance for one minute. When you start to become better at balancing, you can do two minutes or more. When you are done with your first leg, then practice balancing on your other foot. An interesting side effect occurs, and it is a good one! Your legs will be less achey.
Avatar f tn I removed broken bones/bone fragments from under the base of my tongue by bigfatgrannyof5, 2 hours ago No one will probably believe me, because it does not sound probable, but, here goes. When I was perhaps 23 years of age, the bones under the base of my tongue shattered for no apparent reason. I could feel these tiny bone fragments moving about, and the pain was tremendous, cutting me from within.
1263295 tn?1269927250 Osteoarthritis of the hindfoot (the bones and joints between your heel and the front of your ankle) is not uncommon. It can be caused by normal wear and tear, or an undiagnosed deformity in the bones. One signal that the problem is in the hindfoot is that the majority of your pain happens when you rotate the foot laterally (side to side, like rolling your ankle).
Avatar n tn Hi, For the last week or so, i get this sudden sharp and pulsating pain in my foot, the inner arch area (left feet). I looked at a foot muscle diagram to identify the area and it looks like the abductor hallucis area where the pain is located. The pain hits suddenly without warning, lasts for 5-10 seconds. Or comes and goes about twice or thrice in a minute.. and then nothing for hours or even days. But its happening once a day at least for the last three days. The occurrence has no pattern.

Avatar f tn It could also be stress fractures of the bones of the foot. You will need MRI of the whole foot, X-rays of the foot, EMG and nerve conduction studies for a confirmed diagnosis. Take care! The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you. The advice may not be completely correct for you as the doctor cannot examine you and does not know your complete medical history.
Avatar f tn The whole body weight is supported by foot and all the tendons of the leg muscles are inserted in your leg bones and with this fracture and the screws and all the foreign bodies inserted inside you are having constant irritation with standing/walking etc. So you have to take pain killers and learn how to support your weight and decrease your pain slowly, your Physiotherapist can explain it to you. Take care!

Avatar f tn I have noticed lately that after talking for just a few minutes my upper jaw bones/cheek bones tend to ache. This happens even when I tilt my head back to put on my mascara. I do have mild allergies but they are not very bothersome, unlike this dull ache in my face. It seems to be getting worse. Any suggestions?
Avatar n tn Check through an X-ray the healing of the cuboid. If your bones are intact and the healing of the fractured bone has taken place it would probably be to stiffness after the fracture, displaced tendons, muscles. Take some anti inflammatory drugs and ask your Orthopaedician for some Physiotherapy. The cause of inflammation should be determined and treated accordingly. Take care!
Avatar f tn This can cause pain in the joints because the muscles have not stretched to the length of the fast growing bones. His pcp suspected this when my son could not flex his foot back to 90 degrees. I went to a sports medicine doctor who spotted this immediately. He suggested stretches for my son-- he had to stand about 3 steps away from a wall and then lean forward keeping his feet flat in the ground...kind of like doing push ups against the wall.
Avatar f tn What you see outside of the foot or feel in pain may not really matter if you have an instability within the bones or muscles of the foot that needs to be addressed. Just my thoughts. It sounds like you would like a second opinion which is certainly reasonable.
Avatar f tn The podiatrist said he removed a nerve during surgery and consequently I have loss of feeling in the ball of my foot going up to my big toe (entire toe) and half of my second toe. The loss of feeling is partial, and the area of the incision scar is hyper-sensitive. Bottom line- bad result I have subsequently changed care to an ortho doctor specializing in the foot.
Avatar f tn Mine do that! Even if I move my foot my hips crack and pop. It's normal. Mine started doing it at 22 weeks.
Avatar n tn For the last 6-8 weeks I have been having pain when I step on my feet in the morning, it feels like the bones in the top of my foot are pressing together, I generally goes away once I walk on it until I sit a while. Until later in the evening it beguins again. Lately though it feels like a nerve or something is being pinched in my shin and I have to take ibuprophen before going to bed so that it doesn't wake me.
Avatar m tn Most magnesium is stored in the tissues, so leg cramps, foot pain or muscle twitches are usually the first signs of a magnesium deficiency. To add, both vitamin D and magnesium are needed for calcium absorption.
Avatar f tn Agree stay hydrated. Could also be due to low calcium. Baby takes a lot of calcium from you to build it's bones, overnight when your body regenerates it takes calcium from your bones to replenish what baby is taking from your supply. I had the same issue, Charlie horse every night for weeks till I decided to finally mention if to my dr. He told he to take calcium pills which helped tremendously.
