diabetes

Avatar n tn Hi there. Proper foot care is essential particularly in minimizing formation of diabetic foot ulcers. You could choose from diabetic walking shoes to remain more active to prevent worsening your condition. Use an extra wide diabetic slippers for home use. These precautions are necessary for preventing stubbed toes and minor cuts at home, which can become foot ulcers. These diabetic shoes are different from regular ones and are individually fitted according to personal foot needs and size.
Avatar f tn I've had a red rash for two months on the top of both feet. It doesn't itch but burns slightly and almost has a raw feeling. Ive tried different creams and moisturizers but nothing helps. What could This be?
Avatar n tn Another important factor is the nerves supplying the feet- as a complication of Diabetes called Diabetic neuropathy certain nerves get affected and do not perform theie function properly. Wherever theres and increased demand for blood, the blood vessels dialate and the afected part gets more blood - as may happen in the process of healing, nerves together with other chemical factors play a very important role in this.
Monster the nerves that go to the feet are the longest so damage to nerves shows up sooner. same for blood and blood vestals.

Avatar m tn Judging from your symptoms I have to ask you one question: Have you been diagnosed with either Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes? Your symptoms sound very much like what I am going through with my feet: feeling like I'm walking on hot stones and my feet are constantly feeling hot and burning.
Avatar n tn Hello, Since you are a diabetic,so the first possibility is of diabetic ulcers which can be precipitated by stasis of blood. The other possibility is of fungal infections which are slow to respond to standard treatment. I would suggest you to get your blood sugar levels evaluated and consult a dermatologist.A prolonged course of antimicrobials(topical and oral) has to be followed. Hope it helps. Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or in case you have additional queries.

Avatar f tn He is diabetic and has 2 insulin shots per day. There is also a small spot where it is sore on his foot. Is there anything else I can do to help him? Also gave him a foot massage, because I thought it could be his blood not getting through. Then if it wasn't it would turn purple.

Avatar f tn I am a Type II diabetic taking 500 mg of Metformin. Additionally, I take Advair, Lipitor, Synthroid. My triglicerides are high. My question is that my hands have been numb for at least 3 wks. I can barely squeeze them shut, but I can still pick up items, dress myself, and lead a "normal" life. I think I have neuropathy. What can I do about it, and what is my prognosis..will it get wose? What can I take or do to remedy this numbness?

Avatar n tn Manufacturers market socks for people that have foot sensitivities. They make them seamless, providing less irritation to the foot/toes and also I have seen an advertisement for a non-binding sock which would not restrict blood flow to the foot. I believe that they are trying to capture the market of diabetic people who are experiencing foot/toe problems. If your granddaughter's feet are not bothering her, it seems that this product would not benefit her in any way.
Avatar n tn Amanda: I actually was perplexed myself so I decided to google Dermawound, and apparantly it is and I quote "a topical cream to be of major and immediate benefit in the management of chronic non-healing wounds (pressure / bed sores, diabetic leg & foot ulcers, venous stasis ulcers, trauma, burns, surgical wound breakdown, etc." shorty433: I think you are on the wrong forum to ask this question. This is +35 Pregnancy forum.

Avatar n tn Hi Tiny bumps on the penis are common. They can be due to pearly penile papules, fordyce spots, psoriasis and warts (papules); syphilis, chancroid, granuloma inguinale, herpes simplex, apthous ulcers, Reiter's syndrome (ulcers); and balanitis, posthitis, lichen sclerosis, psoriasis, and eczema (plaques). It may be very difficult to assess your problem without clinical examination. However, one possibility can be Fordyce's spots.
1827365 tn?1410506306 My feet hurt really bad! I've been standing all morning and they are hurting. My ankles too but much less. I get it's because of weight gain but I can't stand this pain for the rest of the 17 weeks I have left! Any advice? How are you ladies coping with feet pain? What are you doing to relief the pain? Thanks in advance!
Avatar n tn Vitamin B helps with the dryness in the mouth. Vitamin E oil helps with the dryness on the body. When the legs and feet get very dry or hands, A & D ointment for diaper rash helps. It stinks a little, but put it on at nighttime with a sock over it and your skin should be soft in the morning.
Avatar n tn as well as the constant numbness and tingling in my toes and feet i am now getting the feeling of walking on broken glass or nails- is anyone else having these symptoms and can anyone suggest what can be done about it as my doctor has not heard of this and says i just have to put up with it--best regards
999074 tn?1249887136 Lately I have noticed when I take off my socks that I have slight reddish indentions where they were, this also happens at my underwear. My feet and ankles dont look swollen as I have rather skinny and bony legs. I dont have any symptoms and my blood pressure is averaging about 115/75 with a pulse of 63 and I feel fine. Is this something or am I maybe just being paranoid.
