Since you are a diabetic,so the first possibility is of diabetic ulcers which can be precipitated by stasis of blood.The other possibility is of fungal infections which are slow to respond to standard treatment.
I would suggest you to get your blood sugar levels evaluated and consult a dermatologist.A prolonged course of antimicrobials(topical and oral) has to be followed.

How old is your father, swelling is in either feet or one and is he diabetic? In old age, due to protein deficiency or incompetent venous return, it is quite common to see pedal swelling or edema.
Try leg elevation by putting cushion under legs during sleep, if no response is seen do couple of days, do consult doctor.
she says that it starts with burning micturation... she is diabetic nd hypertensive... all the clinical diagnosis have failed to find any solution.. every doctor says this to be related to stress or diabetes. there must be some solution for this problem....
s have been well controlled with Fasting BG at 85 - 90, and A1C at 5.8. However, now my feet felt tingling and warm sensation. The feet are at regular temperature, not warm to the touch. Is this peripheral neuropathty? Even the BG is controlled, will the feet symptom get worse? How to get it cured? Anybody have similar symptom?

I am a Type II diabetic taking 500 mg of Metformin. Additionally, I take Advair, Lipitor, Synthroid. My triglicerides are high. My question is that my hands have been numb for at least 3 wks. I can barely squeeze them shut, but I can still pick up items, dress myself, and lead a "normal" life. I think I have neuropathy. What can I do about it, and what is my prognosis..will it get wose? What can I take or do to remedy this numbness?

They make them seamless, providing less irritation to the foot/toes and also I have seen an advertisement for a non-binding sock which would not restrict blood flow to the foot. I believe that they are trying to capture the market of diabetic people who are experiencing foot/toe problems. If your granddaughter's feet are not bothering her, it seems that this product would not benefit her in any way.

but its not new.. i used to get it before too..today i had 2 oral ulcers on gum.. though i never had one on my gum..these ulcers are worrying me..the other symptom is that sometimes my hands and feet pain, not severe though..the pain is not frequent..but its there for a long time all these 3 or 4 weeks or so..what do these symptoms characteristic of??i will go for all the tests shortly though..
Since you are technically considered pre-diabetic at 100 I would encourage you to learn more about how diet, exercise and weight loss can slow down or prevent the progression to full-blown diabetes. Good luck to you.

It may be very difficult to assess your problem without clinical examination. However, one possibility can be Fordyce's spots.
as well as the constant numbness and tingling in my toes and feet i am now getting the feeling of walking on broken glass or nails- is anyone else having these symptoms and can anyone suggest what can be done about it as my doctor has not heard of this and says i just have to put up with it--best regards
