It is a type of blister that forms when subdermal tissues and blood vessels are damaged without piercing the skin.Elevate the foot, give rest to the part, apply cold compresses, soak the blister in Epsom sale and keep the foot bandaged so as to avoid its rupture. Avatar m tn Hi Tony, with an hba1c of 7.1 your average blood sugars are about 170, which is certainly high enough to cause neuropathy. Nerve damage is known to be caused with blood sugars above about 120 - 140. If you can it would be great if you can get tighter control. Many find that low carb diet is very helpful or reducing sugar levels (ADA just put out a statement that low carb diets can be very helpful for reducing blood sugar and a1c levels).
Avatar n tn I have right buttock pain but the main problem is intense burning which goes down the back of my right leg all the way to the foot and cramps in my last two toes of right foot. I cannot sit, stand, or lay without the burning. I cannot sleep at night and toss and turn from each side but the burning does not stop. I am told that no one operates on the SI joint. I have tried steriods without success but with reaction including inflamation of tongue and mucous membranes.

Avatar n tn If one is diabetic and has an accident causing trauma, like blunt force, to the foot damaging nerves, is this considered diabetic neuropathy, or can it lead to diabetic neuropathy? A comprehensive foot exam to assess the skin, muscles, bones, circulation, and sensation of the feet is in order. People who cannot sense pressure from a pinprick may have lost protective sensation and are at risk for developing foot sores that may not heal properly. There are other tests the doctor can run.
Avatar f tn They did blood work and everything was fine there, they did a MRI on my back thinking maybe lumbar or a disc problem but there was a slight encroachment but that was not causing foot drop. They checked for diabetes and I was not diabetic. The Dr. Gave me an EMG and discovered nerve damage but could not locate exactly where but estimated it was from my hip. He called it sciatic neuropathy with unknown cause. I received a foot brace that fit in my shoe and it helped a little.
Avatar f tn 10 weeks ago I misstepped and rolled foot between two stairs. MRI shows nondisplaced fracture of anterior lateral process of calcaneous, tissue damage and bone contussion. I'm wearing air cast and doing limited PT and while pain level is decreasing I know that fracture has not healed. (I've had experience with ankle fractures.) While barefoot, it's extremely painful to step on any uneven surface including clothes on the floor. Also, I'm diabetic therefore a slow healer.
