1235957 tn?1270261522 My mom and stp-dad along with grandma usually stick with wheat bread items, fruits, vegetables, and a lot of chicken. They don't eat a lot of red meat or a lot of fried/fast foods. They'll drink diet soft drinks and ocassionally a normal soft drink and a candy bar if their sugar is low or something full of sugar like ice cream and candies and such once in a while if they've been good as a treat.
1720613 tn?1309432604 Proper nutrition means to accentuate the positive when it comes to food. I dislike the word diet. “Diet” implies a rigorous, self-sacrificial discipline that’s doomed to fail. Instead, focus on achieving food goals of what you should eat each day rather than what you shouldn’t eat.
Avatar n tn Dear winkster, Actually a diabetic diet is really only what a healthy diet would be for people without diabetes. And fruits are a part of that even though they have sugar it get metabolized like any other carbohydrates.
Avatar f tn This is more of a problem with lower grade food that uses high level of grains in their foods. Human diabetic patients need to limit carbohydrates to gain the best control of their disease. There are some grains that are much better and those include oatmeal, barley and rye. Good foods that use those better grains and at lower levels are wellness, go natural, and fromm. There are now grain free cat foods that are great.
Avatar n tn A balanced diet is perfrctly fine. Not necessarily just a doft food diet. Example of my typical menu while breastfeeding is: a fruit, oatmeal, toast for breakfast. A glass of apple juice, turkey cheese samdwich on whole grain bread, and maybe some chips for lunch. A snack around 3 which is like pb and crackers. For dinner, a veggie with some type of meat. Ive sucessfully breastfed 2 babies so far sticking to well balanced diet. Lots of water is key too. Whole grains are best.
Avatar n tn Say you were about 16, anemic, and borderline diabetic. Would the Ketosis diet do any good in this situation? Please help and give detailed answers please, and if you know anything that would make following the diet easier, I would be much obliged in hearing it.

Avatar m tn Well, pandemic or not, we still have to be healthy. There is plenty we can do indoors with youtube and dvd's made for living room exercise. Buy a treadmill or stationary bike if that isn't your thing. My YMCA did online zoom classes for at home participation in exercise. a small set of weights is nice to have. Lots you can do. And you know that will help, I"m sure. The eating I understand too. McDonalds here and there won't hurt you. Daily? Ya, not so good.

Avatar n tn I'm a type II diabetic diagnosed this year with food allergies: corn, peanuts, soybeans, eggs and lettuce and various things in those families.
