Avatar f tn My 10 year old son has always had issues with taking his shoes and socks off either at other people's homes or even at bedtime. Now, he has developed a fascination with taking shoes and socks off of dolls and most recently, I caught him looking up videos on his Ipod of people taking off their shoes and socks. I ask him why this fascinated him and he said he didn't know and that it was funny to him.

Avatar f tn Tight shoes are one potential cause, but diabetes is another. If it is diabetic related, it may disappear after a while. It may be the tight shoes, but it doesn't hurt to make sure. The symptom is a yellow flag and you should get a diabetic blood test, an hba1c.
5274485 tn?1385860167 Nylon stocking would not be beneficial and may occasionally cause skin irritation. The idea behind using comfortable/ diabetic shoes is to provide adequate padding to the feet and prevent injury/ trauma. Also the shoes should not be tight to cause pressure at any point or lead to compromise in blood supply. The shoes should fit as comfortably into the normal arch of the foot and heels other than platforms are best avoided. Relative loose/ non-elastic cotton socks would best be suitable.
