Hi, I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes at 29 weeks. I have been eating very well - watching my carbs and sugar intakes. However sometimes I really want to eat some sweets ... bakery most of all! I'm looking for some recipes and great ideas that you have used to keep down cravings and keep glucose level in a normal range. I still have at least 6 or more weeks to go ...

Mommas ive had a terrible craving for something sweet for like 3 days and NOTHING is hitting the spot. I made pie, pineapple upside down cakes, cookies, pudding. Now I have basically baked myself out of house and home (lol not really) but i have no more ideas and im going crazy needing something sweet. Amyone have any quick, sweet recipes to share?

t know if it was coincidence or not, but I ate a TON of pineapple, then went for a long walk, and went into labor that night. And that was going from 0cms the day before, to full labor that day! Good luck, and good for you for not doing castor oil!!!

So since I'm losing so much weight and can't keep food down, my Dr recommend Smoothies.. I'm fond of the banana + strawberry. But what are some other recepies you would recommend.

We don't have California Pizza Kitchen that I know of, but I'll certainly look for one. I found several recipes for cucumber revivers, cucumber coolers, etc. Most of them have lemon juice. I only found one with lime juice. Unfortunately, I don't have any of the ingredients to make them!! Most of the recipes use either agave or honey. I don't have the agave but I always have honey on hand.

so, I used a box cake mix...and instead of using water, I replaced it with beer....then I made a glaze for on top with confectioners sugar and again, replaced the water with beer....and when I glazed them while still wet, I drizzled bacon on top....then I added a small dollop of almond flavored icing.... If any one is interested in the icing recipe I will gladly post....

The only upside to eating pineapple is that it's super yummy...has no effect whatsoever to bringing on labour and all it does is just burn your mouth from eating too much lol. Don't waste your time Hun. EPO is effective though, I inserted 4 capsules and woke up losing my whole mucus plug!

but today I was eating dinner, I had vegetable lasgna, pb and j, a piece of pineapple upside down cake and some milk. VisMy doctor says that if my blood sugar level is still high after my next blood test, then she will have to diagnose me as diabetic. I guess this will happen unless I can bring down my blood sugar level within the next month - (Is this possible to do such a thing)? This is all new to me and I am trying to educate myself. I am a cigarette smoker as well and I believe this is the first problem I should work on, but I'm not sure where to start. I would welcome any advise offered.
