645800 tn?1466860955 Went to that same restaurant I did last week. Who ever comes up with the recipes for the place sure does think outside the box. Tonight I had a boneless pork chop dish and normally you would think of apples sauce as a side for it. But not this place. IT was a Cajun pork chop served with rice and sauteed peaches. The Cajun spices would have over powered apple, but not the peaches. And then add in the slight taste of nutmeg to add even a little more spark to it. Yummy.

Avatar f tn Does anyone have good recipies and tips for an 81-year-old male to control diabetes? My grandpa broke his hip, and while in the hospital, they uncovered that he is diabetic. Avatar n tn Unfortunately, only a physician can give you an accurate diagnosis of being pre-diabetic or diabetic, and since I am not one, I cannot answer that question for you. What I can do is give you my opinion on what you have told me and share what I do know with you. First of all, I would make an appointment for a complete physical with my physician and explain these symptoms. Writing them down prior to your appointment is important so that you don't forget anything.
1282925 tn?1286412039 I have never been a trip that was that long! Sounds like a lot of fun. ^_^ I found this - I don't know if it'll help: http://www.trails.com/how_2164_eat-healthy-camping.html I know that for picnics getting pre-packaged salad bags & using spray on salad dressing make things a lot easier & less messy. The spritzers are also supposed to be good for spraying on grilled food. Now is a great time to make those kabobs too.

For quite a while I did very good job eating right but for the last year or so life has been very hectic and stressful and my eating habits have really taken a beating..my blood sugar usually averages around 130, my last A1C was 6.9 and I've gained back most of the weight (30lbs) that I lost.. can anyone recommend a good "every day" cookbook...not one where the meals look like something that belong an art museum..

Avatar f tn ve always been a diabetic but the most helpful thing for me has been going to this program for preggos with diabetes, sweet success. They set me up with a counselor to answer all my questions and pretty much educate me on what can happen to me and my baby girl and a dietician to give me tons of food ideas. Ask ur doctor if there is something similar you can be referred to. I'm in southern California.
