Avatar f tn ve always been a diabetic but the most helpful thing for me has been going to this program for preggos with diabetes, sweet success. They set me up with a counselor to answer all my questions and pretty much educate me on what can happen to me and my baby girl and a dietician to give me tons of food ideas. Ask ur doctor if there is something similar you can be referred to. I'm in southern California.

Avatar f tn I am 32yrs old. And am 26 weeks and 4 days pregnant. Just found out I failed my 3 hour glucose test. :( So gestational diabetes it is for me. :( I know if you have it, Dr's say you're at risk for BIG babies. I only gained 10 pounds so far. I am going all natural this time around and a little worried that my LO will be big. I had my first at 25yrs old and he weighed 7lbs 3oz. I didn't have gestational with him. Any ladies with gestational had average size babies?
Avatar f tn Woww, you lucky to have found out this early in your pregnancy. I've had gestational diabettes, basically you need to take extra care of yourself and your eating habits. otherwise, not only will you feel real bad, your baby will suffer for it. Call your treating hospital and they will provide you with education on the subject. You can also google for more information.
Avatar f tn Well it COULD be morning sickness. But yes it's possible you may develop gestational diabetes later. But it's also possible that you're already diabetic. I did my glucose testing at about 5 weeks and I failed which is much too early to have gestational diabetes so I guess I'm actually diabetic without knowing it!
Avatar f tn Now I do know about gestational diabetes but do these symptoms also happen for me Who has been a diabetic since I was 12 or would it be better for me to see my doctor
Avatar f tn I've had two gestational diabetes pregnancies. I did have to regulate my sugar with meds because diet alone wasn't enough. Both of my babies were born healthy and under 8lbs.

Regular Medical Care: This is so important. An annual physical with bloodwork is so important. The earlier your doctor can identify a medical problem, the better. It's a lot easier to manage a condition when caught in its early stages.
