Avatar f tn Hi, Stroke rehabilitation, or, , stroke recovery, is the process by which patients with disabling strokes undergo treatment to help them return to normal life as much as possible by regaining and relearning the skills of everyday living. Avatar f tn My grandpa broke his hip, and while in the hospital, they uncovered that he is diabetic. Apparently, his doctor has known for a while that he was insaline resistant and pre-diabetic, but "didn't think it was a problem". So we're trying to help my grandma (who is 73) to take care with her cooking when (if) he gets out of the nursing home. I appriciate all the help I can get!

Avatar m tn Hey guys I was looking up information on diabetes and I came across this article about doctors lying to their patients about diabetes treatments. The article also goes on to talk about natural cures for diabetes. I didn’t know this but there’s a rule that doctors are not allowed to talk about natural cures or anything “termed” a miracle cure to there patients even if they believe it the best means of treatment. I was shocked when I saw the STATS on diabetes in America. It’s really horrific.

1723161 tn?1309771519 After ten months, she had a transient ischemic attack and that was the time we discovered she has paroxysmal atrial fibrillation. She is a diabetic and hypertensive but these two are well controlled. Her medicines are Norizec 1 mg, Galvus 50 mg, Losartan 50 mg, Crestor 20 mg, Cordarone 200 mg and her clopidogrel was changed to Pradaxia. My questions are: 1. Does her newly discovered paroxysmal atrial fibrillation caused her stroke in the past few years? 2.
Avatar f tn My boyfriends momma lives with us and she is so lazy and she always waits to do stuff until its inconvenient for everyone else I'm off 3 days a week and she is here constantly and doesn't work he works 6 to 7 days a week she waits until we are home to clean anything if she does at all and she helps the least with bills which I said would be fine because she is supposed to help keep the house cleaned up she has 2 dogs and we have 1 and when we are gone I swear they never get taken outside

Avatar f tn Same here. Not able to just "get out and start walking"! Easier said than done. But I am working on it. I feel like my whole body is swollen. Anyone else feel that way?
Avatar n tn My mother is a diabetic and she recently had a brain stem stroke. Anyway, she was living in the 400's for problem 2 years due to negligence on her diet. My sister and I noticed that during the past 2 years, she gets these small bumps on her head and she constantly picks at them and they won't heel. My brother, who is a nurse and also a diabetic, said they were Keloids and diabetics get them.

172023 tn?1334672284 DILL! Dried or fresh. This is the secret ingredient for the Iron Chef Challenge over on Healthy Cooking this week. The response has been underwhelming, so we'll just see how it goes. The idea is to search for recipes (healthy ones!) using the secret ingredient each week, cook it for your family or significant other, or just for yourself, and review it this week.
Avatar f tn My husband has taken over cooking responsibilities because of my dizzy spells. If I get to warm, I almost fall over. Uuuuuugh. Luckily, hubby to the rescue.
Avatar f tn Your stress can be felt by the baby so you should try to stay away from anyone who stresses you out as much as possible. If you are living there is there maybe a friend or family members house you can stay at for awhile to get a break? I had my first baby when I was 16, so I know how hard it can be living with your parents when you are going to be a parent. I hope it gets better.
Avatar n tn If you are a female-- has anyone looked into endometriosis? I know my endo is back or getting worse because my migraines go through the roof (also birth control pills make them worse.) If you thing it might be endo contact the endo association to find an endo specialist near you as a general ob/gyn does not know enough about endo to properly diagnose and treat it. I sympathize with allergies to meds I think I drive my doctors crazy because of how many meds I cannot have.
Avatar f tn I literally only breathe through my mouth bc of every smell. I carry a cup with me to spit in every 5 secs. My first pregnancy was not this horrible and that was 5 years ago! Does anyone have any advice for smells nausea bc anything i eat or drink just comes right up! I just wanna enjoy a freaking burger !
Avatar f tn Hey ladies. I'm having a hard time cooking due to the strong sense of smell I have during pregnancy. So when ever I cook I feel sick and I just can't. I was wondering if any of you have tips on what to cook or what meals are less strong on smell. Even if it gets preheated.
