When I was younger I did not want to wear the medical alert necklace my mother bought for me, so we pinned the actual medical alert pendant to my clothes( on the inside) It is pretty important to wear your med-alert charm. What about if you sew her information on her tags in her clothes? Sounds time consuming but it would be there and you would have piece of mind. Or what if you make a big deal about a pretty bracelet she could wear.

Just wondering. Is the Chiari awareness ribbon color a lavener or a royal purple color? I've seen them both. The one with the zipper on it that says Chiari is lavender, so I'm assuming that the "official" awareness ribbon for Chiari is lavender. Just wondering. I would like to start raising awareness in my area and make some bracelets, but don't know what color charms to buy. Also, sorry to flood the board with my questions.

That is a really good issue to bring up because I know we have all felt that way before, you are so very right! Sometimes people say things that try to help us or encourage us or make us feel better, and in the end those things they say just end up making us feel like they don't understand or like they are blaming us or like they expect more from us then we can give. Or sometimes they just say hurtful or discouraging things by mistake because they're not thinking at all.
