diabetes

Avatar n tn Without more details, possible causes that come to my mind for such intestinal pain could be Celiac disease, Crohn's disease, diabetic gastroparesis, gallbladder disease, or severe constipation. There are other possibilities, of course, but abdominal pain can take time and effort to sort out. Good luck!
Avatar n tn re faced with this intestinal disease. Enteropathy is a generic term and so it might be that you have a form of gastroparesis (a form of diabetic neurpathy). To the extent that you can improve your diabetes management, strive to do so. Some neuropathy symptoms can be significantly eased when BGs are close to non-diabetic levels.
Avatar f tn Mitch, if you feel your diagnosis is in error, then you should contact your doc and have and EGD done to confirm or disprove your suspicions. Something like a polyp typically doesn't cause an obstruction. I know you mentioned in another post that you didn't have diabetes and oculdn't understand why you may have gastroparesis. However, gastroparesis isn't only due to diabetes. Many people are diagnosed with idiopathic gastroparesis and no true cause is ever found.
771025 tn?1286576152 ” “Surgery is currently the only way to break adhesions that cause pain, intestinal obstruction, or fertility problems. More surgery, however, carries the risk of additional adhesions and is avoided when possible.” REFER: http://digestive.niddk.nih.gov/ddiseases/pubs/intestinaladhesions/ Please discuss this with your doctor. I have been told that I have Gastritis, Peptic Ulcer, Gastroparesis (I am also diabetic).....but never a true diagnosis as of yet. These problems have been occurring off and on for the past 4 years. I have had 2 endoscopies, a colonoscopy, MRI's, CAT scans and they have not found anything.
Avatar f tn You sound a lot like me. LOL. I've been struggling with the bloating for a long time now and it got so bad that I went to a GI doctor and had a bunch of tests done. With bloating the #1 thing you wanna make sure and rule out is an intestinal obstruction. Have your doctor schedule you a small bowel x-ray with barium to rule or confirm this.
Avatar m tn Dear Spidersilk, Sir, in addition to the other poster's suggestions, your grandson could have a variety of some rather serious gastro problems, the list is as long as my arm, which constant abdominal pain in the young is ALWAYS to be taken seriously, as you have, but the mother has not.
Avatar n tn I’ll suggest an examination by a surgeon and may be some tests like an x-ray abdomen/CT scan etc to rule out the presence of a partial obstruction in the gastro-intestinal tract. Meanwhile, you can also try some enema to evacuate the bowels once. Maybe that sets everything right. You need to continue with the measures you’re following. I sincerely believe that helps. Please do keep me posted. Kind regards.

Avatar f tn I have been diagnosed with diverticulitis and gastroparesis. I have had about 7-8 diverticulitis attacks beginning in 2006. I was diagnosed with gastroparesis in Dec of 2013. I have been miserable with pain and nausea with these last two attacks which were a month apart. My doc prescribed Domperidone for the gastroparesis. I filled the prescription but before I could start taking it, I had another diverticulitis attack. I am currently taking flagyl and levaquin for the diverticulitis.
Avatar f tn Abdominal adhesions can kink, twist, or pull the intestines out of place, causing an intestinal obstruction. An intestinal obstruction partially or completely restricts the movement of food or stool through the intestines. A complete intestinal obstruction is life threatening and requires immediate medical attention and often surgery. If the condition is caused by a vascular abnormality, it would likely be constriction of blood vessels and reduced blood flow to the digestive system.
Avatar f tn Two years ago I had surgery for a double bowel obstruction. Before my bowel became totally occluded I had symptoms similiar to what you are experiencing. Like Selma suggests, my obstruction was from scar tissue. I had not had surgery like you have had, but I was a fighter in my demented youth and took some hard hits that probably caused scar tissue. That being said, a CAT scan should have picked up a bowel obstruction.
Avatar m tn I don't know how long I have had diabetes II, I started on pills maybe in 1996. There was no name like Gert or Gastroparesis. A Doctor shoved a pipe down my throat and looked at my ? What he said sounded like something like a "cut" in my esophagus that let acid come up into my esophagus. I learned over 2 years, anytime I ate Roast Beef or tomatoe Juice, that place would close up and keep water from going into my stomach, after a few minutes, it would open back up.

Avatar f tn I am 29 year old male. I have a problem of frequent bloating. I spend lot of time to clear my bowel. I don't feel constipated but I feel as if gas is causing obstruction. When gas is out the motion is good and in sometime it stops and I need to wait for another pocket of gas to be out. This way I need to spend a lot of time to clear my bowel. In some days when am unable to clear my bowel completely i feel bloated and uncomfortable with flatulence.
