Avatar f tn It's called diabetic diarrhea and it is caused by neuropathy. Gastroparesis is another symptom of diabetic neuropathy.
Avatar n tn s type 1 complications with gastroparesis. I do have a few questions. Are you dealing with acid reflux or vomiting? I had not heard of the term "enteropathy" until today, but from my research it sounds like it is very similar to gastroparesis. This is a dismotility of the stomach. The stomach is unable to move food through the stomach at the normal pace. When I researched this it sounded very familiar.
Avatar f tn The nurse was going to ask the dr to give me a pancreas cancer/pancreatitis blood test as I’m a type 1 diabetic but I’ve received a text saying I’m going to get a phone call on 7/7 and was just wondering if he isn’t going to give me it or if he probably wants to talk first about symptoms?
Avatar f tn 1) Why did gastroparesis happen to you? The fact is that while the most common single cause for GP is diabetes, it only accounts for about 20% of cases. Of the remaining 80%, 30% have other possible causes (MS and Parkinson's are two that come to mind), so you should be checked for these things as it may be a first symptom (this is unlikely, however). The remaining 50% are known as idiopathic cases: they have no known cause.

Avatar f tn I require 14/16 Senokot every night in order to have a bowel movement in the morning. Could my diabetic condition be aggravating the problem, and how many adhesions would there need to be in order to be called appreciable, percent wise?
Avatar f tn Women have a higher demand for iron then men due to monthly menstrual flow. There are 2 types of iron in our food sources, Heme iron and Non-Heme iron. Heme iron is from animal sources and Non-Heme is plant sources. Non-Heme iron has more iron then Heme iron , however, it does not absorbed well into our bodies so it is important to eat foods with Vitamin C and Heme iron foods to enhance absorption.
484160 tn?1343397921 Then they took out her gallbladder on the 10th of this month. Now they are calling it diabetic stomach (gastroparesis). She has been throwing up uncontrollably off and on for 2 years. She went in on the 10th and they removed her gallbladder. She went home from that and was back in the hospital on the 14th or 15th. They kept her until last night, sent her home and she is headed back to the hospital this morning, still throwing up.
Avatar n tn I have learned that there can be many different symptoms in relation to this complication. In regards to people with diabetes, gastroparesis is related to diabetic autonomic neuropathy. While my son has never had the problem you have with low blood pressure your comment sent me back to review my research. I came across a website from the Mayo Clinic that speaks to the issue of low blood pressure and autonomic neuropathy. The website is http://www.mayoclinic.com/invoke.cfm?id=HO00169.
Avatar f tn I'm Type 2 Diabetic and have other issues with my health, i have Gastroparesis, Barretts disease, IBS, Acid Reflux ( Gerd ) Stomach Hernia, and have had 9 Polyps taken from my Bowels ( non cancerous ). I know it's the diabetes thats killing the nerve endings in my stomach which has give me the gastroparesis but how do i control my sugars? i do my best but find it real hard.
Avatar m tn I don't know how long I have had diabetes II, I started on pills maybe in 1996. There was no name like Gert or Gastroparesis. A Doctor shoved a pipe down my throat and looked at my ? What he said sounded like something like a "cut" in my esophagus that let acid come up into my esophagus. I learned over 2 years, anytime I ate Roast Beef or tomatoe Juice, that place would close up and keep water from going into my stomach, after a few minutes, it would open back up.
Avatar n tn I have a 9yr old type 1 diabetic. She has bad acid reflux with gastroparesis symptoms too. she has an endo Dr and Gastro Dr. Has been tested for celiac in blood. upper gi colonoscopy all "normal". She is still misrable and so am I what can I do?
Avatar f tn I see an endocrinologist for Graves Disease with hyperthyroidism and he sees a lot of diabetic patients with gastroparesis. He says that Reglan has a lot of side effects and has held off on the script. My gastroenterologist says reglan is the only drug for gastroparesis and gave me a script for it. I have been reluctant to take them though. I have not felt well for a very long time also.
Avatar n tn With a diabetic and gastric problems you have to think about gastroparesis but could be a lot of different things. http://digestive.niddk.nih.gov/ddiseases/pubs/gastroparesis/ Three months of nausea after eating is easily 87 days too many. Hope you feel better very soon.
Avatar n tn Hi, I'm new to this forum, and have read through the archives trying to find out some information. I'm a type 1 diabetic of 16 years. I sadly enough have gastroparesis, very severe gastroparesis, making me have a gastric stimulator implant that doesn't do much to help with the daily symptoms of pain, bad sugars and nausea. NOW my question comes as a suprise to even myself. Can I have a baby EVER?
Avatar n tn I was diagnosed 2 years ago w/gastroparesis. I too was diagnosed as a diabetic when I was 6 years old. Im now 26. The road traveled down w/gastroparesis has not been an easy one. None of the meds have worked for me and I feel pretty ill most days. Not many people understand gastroparesis except for those going thru it also. I am now on social security disability because of it....I am just to ill with it.

584742 tn?1219148217 My son has been a diabetic for the past 20 years- type 1. He is now 46 & has gastroparesis. He goes through sever stomach pains, then vomit, then retch then blood. He doesn't get very much sleep anymore but he feels that when he does sleep for quite a while, the pain is more severe. Can this be right?
Avatar f tn m confused how they diagnosed him with gastroparesis if his gastric emptying test came back within normal ranges. If his gastric emptying test came back within normal ranges then he does not have gastroparesis.
Avatar n tn I've been a type 1 diabetic for 22 years (24 years old now, diagnosed at 22 months and have always maintained good blood sugar control (A1C from 7 - 8). Recently I have experienced frequent heartburn, and near constant burping. I know these are symptoms of gastroparesis, which is a common complication. I am just wondering if anyone has any experience with this and if they have had success in treating it? Next, I also am having issues with ym breathing.
Avatar m tn Did they call it diabetic gastroparesis? I suspect that's what his diagnosis is, and it's not something you should forget because without it, people are starting over if you want help. Diabetes can damage a digestive nerve and cause gastroparesis. I don't think there is anything that can help the nerve once it's damaged, but controlling blood sugar is important. You could see if probiotics or digestive enzymes help, but it may not.
Avatar n tn I also might have diabetic gastroparesis as well. I am just sick of being sick and sleeping all day and all night. Thanks for your interest. This is helpful.
