482543 tn?1248355421 Being a type 1 diabetic the microalbumin test is used to see if and how much of a protein called albumin is in your kidneys. Yours is somewhat high. What type of doctor ran these tests? Do you see an endocrinologist for your diabetes? The sed rate is also a measure of inflammation in the body and your #'s are normal. Just remember the RH factor can be positive in people who do NOT have the disease and test negative and HAVE RA.
Avatar f tn I believe recently the ADA officially adopted A1C as the standard diagnostic tool, but you could google that to be sure; I also generally hear 6.0 but have occasionally heard some people use 6.5. Yes, there is lots of controversy and lots of inconsistency in diabetes management and your average PCP is woefully behind the times in their information. That's in part because the ADA is behind the times!

Avatar f tn I am a diabetic and was told I have traces of protein in my urine. I am on a 40/40/20 diet. 40% of my diet is protein. Will eating all the protein make my kidney's work harder and make my situation worse?
335728 tn?1331414412 It is a topical ointment that was first used for diabetic neuropathy and apparently they have had some good results for all types of nerve pain. I would like to try it for the nerve pain in my feet but was wondering if you had heard of it. I may give it a whirl come payday and see if it helps my feet at all...I would appreciate if anything would take the pain out of my feet!!
1154802 tn?1266485720 If you are the former, then it would be abnormal to rise above 120 for a non-diabetic. Also for a diagnosed diabetic, many doctors still use the ADA figure of 180 but studies have shown that complications begin at sustained numbers above 140 so that might be a safer goal imho.

Avatar f tn Has anyone here ever used ADA (American Disabilities Act ) to help them in getting their employer to "make reasonable accommodations" for them to do their job? Does the ADA recognize chiari malformation as a disability? I did not see it as such. Not sure how to go about using ADA. I am close to losing my job because of a few over/shortages (not high amounts).
