20602810 tn?1501685257 I'm Diabetic and need a low oxalate diet and I'm so confused with all the different lists online.  My doctor advised taking extra cinnamon in my diet but when I just had surgery on a 6mm stone in my urethra, my diet needs to be changed because cinnamon has high oxalate....but some lists online say it's low oxalate.  Please help me, if you can, in a website that has an accurate low oxalate list of foods and recipes that I can eat being Diabetic AND low oxalate.
Avatar n tn I'm a type II diabetic diagnosed this year with food allergies: corn, peanuts, soybeans, eggs and lettuce and various things in those families. That puts a great many "health" and low fat foods off my list and diabetic staples like eggs are a fond memory. I can't find any information out there to help me balance these evils (diabetes and allergies) against each other.
Avatar n tn What diabetes86 said is spot on. That's precisely how it is, and it takes only 15 minutes to find out for oneself what produces blood glucose. On the other hand, I've quickly checked the last link vedadhar posted, and it's stunning how diconnected from reality it is. The Australian PDF recommends that carbohydrates make up cca 90% of one's diet... despite the proven fact that that's exactly what raises BG.
Avatar f tn borderline diabetic, cirrohsis, bi-polar, migraines, and food allergies to coconut and mustard. I have one form of information that says to drink lots of fluids including fruit juices. Another says to avoid simple carbs - like fruit juices! These type of conflicting advice sorces are very frustrating to someone who was just recently found out that they had Hep C and stage four cirrohsis!
Avatar n tn Believe me - as a Type 1 I had the same questions about a Diabetic Diet and for the most part - Food Exchanges just confused me because they overly complicated something simple. Type 1 or Type 2 or Type 1.5 - we all have the same meal planning problem. Unfortunately - there is no "list" of safe foods. You have to make your own. BUT - it's not so hard. The trick is to look at Nutritional Labels on food products. 99% of everything has it.
Avatar n tn im needing to find a simple diabetic diet plan. the doctor gave me one but it seems really complicated. does anyone know any good sources for diabetic diet plans?
Avatar f tn I cant think of anything off the top of my head dear, but Im sure they have a list of things to eat for women who becme diabetic during pregnancy on the internet.
Avatar f tn Hi, thanks for the answer. I already had the thyroid test and I don't have any problem with that, is just the hiperinsulinim and the PCOs, and also I've already been treated with medication but my doctor said that I don't needed anymore.
1720613 tn?1309432604 Proper nutrition means to accentuate the positive when it comes to food. I dislike the word diet. “Diet” implies a rigorous, self-sacrificial discipline that’s doomed to fail. Instead, focus on achieving food goals of what you should eat each day rather than what you shouldn’t eat.
Avatar m tn I have been pre-diabetic for almost 1.5-2 years now. I have had tingling sensation all over the body, Numbness in feet and slight neurotic pain in the legs below knees. And I have been having these bumps on my penis and pubic region for the same amount of time. I have been negative for STDs. And recenly the tingling, itching is mostly in the groin area. My vision seems to be blurred since yesterday. My fasting sugars right now range between 104 -118.
Avatar n tn Dear winkster, Actually a diabetic diet is really only what a healthy diet would be for people without diabetes. And fruits are a part of that even though they have sugar it get metabolized like any other carbohydrates.
Avatar n tn If the PATIENT pops the question, he can then discuss other alternatives (they are there), which do not provide as much anti-coagulent action, but permit a normal diet. I would go into the food list, however there are pages of this on the internet. For the phelobotomist not to know everything about the diet this suggests you find another phlebotomist. My question is why is the patient on cuomadin. Sometimes, if you have certain conditions you MUST have coumadin.
2024274 tn?1332956426 Also so everyone knows and maybe i can get a bit of info about transplants after failing the pegasus treatment friday my doctoe has finally put me on the transplant list .please i need all the info i can get.
Avatar f tn t speak for everyone as all have different symtoms but for me those symtoms are what led me to the doctor in the first place. I am not diabetic, but was diagnosed hcv positive in may, genotype 1a.
5501743 tn?1390296087 I went on the diabetic diet :) or gluten free!!!
733939 tn?1231773355 You are on the right track so take a deep breath and hang in there! I disagree with the person who said you are a "half step from being put on insulin". I'm sorry, but it doesn't work that way! For a Type II diabetic the correct step for you and your doctor to take is to start you on some oral medications and help you to learn the right way to eat. I agree with the person who said not to think of it as a diet but as good nutrition. Please don't be afraid to eat!
Avatar f tn There are all kinds of food they say not to eat most of it is a precaution, I personally at everything lol my diet was horrible but I couldn't be satisfied till I ate what I craved ... I had one cup of coffee or a soda every day and my baby is not only healthy he's advanced for his age....
Avatar n tn I would like to know if MCT OIL ( from coconut) any good for losing fat and for a diabetic diet? It has lots of CV benefits as well as anti- inflammatory fungal anti bacterial and antiviral . 1235957 tn?1270261522 My mother has been diabetic for few years and still not conscious about her diet. She still drinks softdrinks, rice, meat, and cakes. What should be the food she should eat and not eat? What are your diet plans?
6403373 tn?1381003248 The biggest thing is not to "eat foods" to help you loose weight, but to cut out such simple things as pop, chips, coffee with tons of cream and sugar. Another way to eat better is to remember this, when you go shopping shop on the OUTSIDE of the grocery store. Almost everything that is processed is in the middle.
Avatar f tn Hi...i am 25weeks and detected diabetic due to heridity...i am on diet these days and under control...i can't control my food carvings..m real foody...will this effect my baby..in case my glucose goes up ..
362249 tn?1441315018 I'm diabetic, so for me, I have to count carbs. Carbohydrates turn into simple sugars (if I remember right?) after being digested by the body for energy. The type of diabetic diet I'm on, if there's 5g of fiber or more in a food item, the grams of fiber get subtracted from the total amount of carbs in the food. For instance, fiberOne cereal has 13g fiber and 45g carbs.
