1720613 tn?1309432604 It's in your best interest when you follow your doctors instructions. Proper nutrition means to accentuate the positive when it comes to food. I dislike the word diet. “Diet” implies a rigorous, self-sacrificial discipline that’s doomed to fail. Instead, focus on achieving food goals of what you should eat each day rather than what you shouldn’t eat.
Avatar n tn last year i was diagnosed with polycystic ovarian disease. i need help in managing my diet plan. i daily do cycling (static) for 10 min. please help me.
Avatar n tn Dear winkster, Actually a diabetic diet is really only what a healthy diet would be for people without diabetes. And fruits are a part of that even though they have sugar it get metabolized like any other carbohydrates.
Avatar f tn I have been diabetic for 15 years. I have never been on a diabetic diet. I would like to know what I can eat, like how many carbs, fat, fruit, etc. Please help.
Boy Is steak ok to eat for diabetics?
Avatar f tn Woww, you lucky to have found out this early in your pregnancy. I've had gestational diabettes, basically you need to take extra care of yourself and your eating habits. otherwise, not only will you feel real bad, your baby will suffer for it. Call your treating hospital and they will provide you with education on the subject. You can also google for more information.
5623242 tn?1371127079 If you are aiming at losing weight, it is important to calculate your current BMI and the target BMI. The target BMI should be in a healthy range. The key is to follow a healthy diet plan with a balanced amount of physical activity. A healthy diet should consist of adequate calories according to ones height, weight and physical activity; with adequate amounts of carbohydrates, slightly increased proteins, little fat and plenty of fruits and vegetables to supply vitamins and minerals.

1802952 tn?1315981161 I'm trying to find a good diet for me. The thing is I had my gallbladder taking out and I can't eat a lot of foods like I could before. Is there a good diet plan for someone who had their gallbladder taking out? Also, I'm a picky eater..LOL! I think that's why I do so bad on diets.

Tbd I agree with Sally. Get a meter & check your sugar. Change your diet based on your numbers. Ditch the sugar & detox from sugar it is like a drug. When you detox from sugar you reduce the taste for it but don't return to your bad habits. Get your numbers down, your BMI down (reduce your waist size), lose weight & let dome form of exercise be your norm. If it turns to a diabetic # you will have issues like SF low healing wounds & bruises that take a long time to heal.
Avatar f tn I agree with second Dr. who says you are diabetic already and need to treat yourself (and control your diet and blood sugars etc., as such).
Avatar n tn thanks
Avatar n tn Along with avoiding sugary foods a low to no carb diet plan is recommended for t2 diabetics. Carbs to t2 diabetics are the same as sugar - elevates our glucose [blood sugar] above and beyond acceptable levels. A very good place to look for low carb recipes is the Atkins [diet] web site http://tinyurl.com/atkins-recipes . Replace sugar with artificial sweeteners such as Splenda or Stevia.
Avatar m tn I assume you mean you have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (also known as syndrome X or metabolic X syndrome by many) - if so why not go see a dietitian who deals with diabetes (just because they deal with diabetes does't mean they can't help develop a plan that will for you, even if your not diabetic) and have them help develop a plan that will work with you?
720228 tn?1530911279 //www.webmd.com/diabetes/diabetes-meal-plan There is also a diet and exercise (title of the forum) here and we discuss eating healthy as a family there. :>) Good luck!!
8369322 tn?1397826669 You don't need a diet plan but a healthier meal plan for yourself. We should not deprive ourselves being diabetic to eat good foods. Just to share with you, I still eat fish, meats, fruits, and vegetables. I have it baked, steamed, boiled, stewed just the way I like it. I had this meal last week (http://tgp.com.ph/blog/5-recipes-high-blood-sugar-bay/) see for your self. Also, remember canned and processed foods/fruits are superbly BIG NO NO!
Avatar n tn I have been also on low carb diet for awhile now and everything works great. My blood sugar is normalized and I lost considerable weights too. During the first days of my low-carb diet, I felt bloated too. Take this as a transition period, also since low carb means ingesting more vegetables, some vegs like spinach does cause bloating for me. Increasing fat and meat servings help me a lot. Bloating could also mean you lack some enzymes for particular types of food.
Avatar n tn While I fully support the idea that people find a nutritional approach that works for them, apply it exactly as it is outlined by the author of that program, and then implement it for the rest of their lives, I cannot help but urge people to beware of the Eat To Live diet plan because it certainly doesn’t seem to have your health in mind. After reading through this diet book, the only conclusion I can draw is that Dr.
