Avatar n tn I might be working a there again this summer, still waiting to hear back. I highly recommend diabetes camp for kids and teenagers. It truly helped me understand and take better control of my diabetes. And I still have friends that I talk to that I met that first year I was there.
Avatar f tn About two months ago, I started a fitness boot camp. I could not define a point of injury, but started feeling pain in the lower left side of my back. I went to my doctor and she thought it might be kidneys or ovarian problems. Blood tests came back great. I've now had three chiropractic adjustments and am feeling no real relief. My Dr. prescribed Medrol which I finished taking over a week ago. I have also been taking Vicodin and Flexeril.
Avatar f tn My 11 year old daughter went away for the weekend with our church youth group. She told me that on the second night she was to share a bed with one of the other girls. After the counselor and the other girls were asleep the bed mate put her hand down my daughters underpants. She also tried to snuggle up to her. My daughter told her to get her hands off of her and go to sleep. That was the end of it. I am going to go to the councelor and report this but I don't know what else to do.
Avatar n tn I am also a volunteer and my daughter goes to a diabetes camp. Most diabetes camps have camerhips, to help defray the cost. Also check with your local civic groups, such as rotary, elks etc. They help people in these situations.
Avatar f tn I've HAD it with my endo; I need someone who's a THYROID specialist, not a diabetes doc. I'm dealing with a papillary recurrence and need someone who's aggressive with this stuff, not a "wait-and-seer". I'm in Indianapolis - tell me about your great Indy area thyroid cancer endo. Any IU Cancer Center patients out there?
Avatar f tn I do not always label people with diabetes if they now have normal blood sugars when off all medications. That does not fit the diagnostic guideline. What I do say is that there is a HISTORY of diabetes, and this is important to include because even if blood sugars become normal again, you will be at higher risk than normal for going back towards high glucoses in the future. Hope this answers your question. take care.
Avatar f tn Will anyone be giving birth in Indianapolis, Indiana? I feel like I'm the only one & everyone is in a different state lol.

One-third of camp residents are unemployed and 15 percent of homes are not connected to the public sewerage system. Avatar n tn I could not agree with you more about sending a child with diabetes to a camp for diabetes. This summer was my daughters third year. Each year she says she des not want to go back and each time she has a great time and does not want it to end.
Avatar f tn Federal Appeals Court Says State Can't Cut Funding Over Abortion The state of Indiana cannot withhold Medicaid funding from the local Planned Parenthood affiliate because some of its clinics offer abortions, a federal appeals court ruled Tuesday. The Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals upheld a June 2011 injunction from a lower-court judge blocking a law that would have prevented Planned Parenthood of Indiana from participating in the state's Medicaid program. Avatar n tn Hi, that's awesome that you want to educate yourself on diabetes! There are lots of places to get information, here are two good places to start: Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation <a href="http://www.diabetes.org/type-1-diabetes.
599170 tn?1300973893 Michigan paralised Troops Fund and Childrens Leukemia Foundation....they just both pull at my heart so they are my two regulars no lodgigal reason as there are so very many other equally important ones, I also give blood on a regular basis.
Avatar n tn I remember hearing that years ago. I have heard every single example of genetics with diabetes of both types from the skipped generation to "nobody in my family" to parents, to siblings, etc. I think genetics and diabetes is complex. I absolutely would not be confident that the children won't get diabetes. Type 2 diabetes which previously affected only middle aged people has become much more common in overweight youth.
