Avatar f tn although i haven't been treated for fainting, i do see a wonderful doctor in toledo, ohio who is very in-tune with syncope. he and his associates are currently treating me for dysautonomia, but you may want to contact his office for advice. they are all so sweet there. his name is dr. blair grubb at the university of toledo medical center. he's in the cardiology department. there is also a support group for syncope; i think it's called "stars".
Avatar f tn They did blood work and everything was fine there, they did a MRI on my back thinking maybe lumbar or a disc problem but there was a slight encroachment but that was not causing foot drop. They checked for diabetes and I was not diabetic. The Dr. Gave me an EMG and discovered nerve damage but could not locate exactly where but estimated it was from my hip. He called it sciatic neuropathy with unknown cause. I received a foot brace that fit in my shoe and it helped a little.
Avatar f tn I am a 50-year-old healthy, athletic female. In July 2008 I noticed as I walked down the hall at work early one morning that my left leg wasn't working right. It seemed it had forgotten how to move smoothly. I tried to ignore it, but over time I tripped more, limped more, and more and more people asked me what I'd done to myself that caused my limp. In the past year, I've had MRI of brain, neck, spine, EMG, and EEG and consulted with two neurologists as well as my primary doc.
215461 tn?1331862765 Should I get my thyroid out? Does anyone know of any good docs in Michigan or around toledo Oh. My insurance only covers one guy, and I'm not too happy with his non-answers. Thanks for any help.
Avatar f tn You probably already located this, but I found on the University of Toledo Medical Center website a phone number for the referral resource center with Dr. Grubb's picture on there- for an appointment, they say to call 1-800-556-5444. See private message for more info.

Avatar f tn My son has not been diagnosed with anything but the more he has symptoms the more I am wondering if he has some type of auto-immune disorder. Three weeks ago he was playing basketball and knocked himself out on the gym floor. He was going for a lay-up shot and collided with another student in the air making him fall face first to the ground. He was unconsciouse for a few minutes.
