Avatar f tn My son and I went to the Chiari walk in Knoxville on Sat. and it was also a really good turnout. I would estimate 100 people with lots of Chiarians wearing purple beads. I also signed the petition and was also surprised at the number of people. We had a couple of people say a few words and the mayor spoke, but I agree that it would be good to have a medical professional or some such to speak and inform.
Avatar m tn It is true you will be able to walk out of the office after the procedure with your shoes on. What no one seems to want you to know is, when the anesthetic and freeze wear off, you will probably be in a world of hurt. No amount of OTC med will even cut the severity of the pain. Speaking for myself, I had MN diagnosed by four DPMs, from December 2004 to December 2007. Beginning near the end of June 2008, the pain became acute. I assumed it was the MN.

Avatar f tn They did blood work and everything was fine there, they did a MRI on my back thinking maybe lumbar or a disc problem but there was a slight encroachment but that was not causing foot drop. They checked for diabetes and I was not diabetic. The Dr. Gave me an EMG and discovered nerve damage but could not locate exactly where but estimated it was from my hip. He called it sciatic neuropathy with unknown cause. I received a foot brace that fit in my shoe and it helped a little.
687729 tn?1397992727 I am moving to Knoxville from Michigan and I am addicted to Opana ER. There is only one doctor in Knoxville who prescribes narcotics and Opana isn't helping with my chronic pain, anyway (I have had five back surgeries). I tried detoxing by switching to Dilaudid, taking smaller and smaller doses... Then, an injury in Physical Therapy put me back on my full Opana dosage. I've tried using Kratom for the pain and it keeps me awake. Can the fast-acting Oxymorphone be cut in half?
Avatar f tn Yes that is lyme. The longer you wait to treat the worse your symptoms will get. I waited over 20 years misdiagnosed and now the lyme is affecting major organs.
Avatar f tn I am a 50-year-old healthy, athletic female. In July 2008 I noticed as I walked down the hall at work early one morning that my left leg wasn't working right. It seemed it had forgotten how to move smoothly. I tried to ignore it, but over time I tripped more, limped more, and more and more people asked me what I'd done to myself that caused my limp. In the past year, I've had MRI of brain, neck, spine, EMG, and EEG and consulted with two neurologists as well as my primary doc.

Avatar m tn Are there any support groups that meet for Chiari survivors, sufferers in Knoxville, TN. My daughter had decompression surgery a year and a half ago. Since then she has been suffering from headaches and mind seizures as well as fear, depression and anxiety. She has had to quit her job and we are probably going to have to file for disability for her. I think a support group would help her feel not so all alone.
